I can't keep us dry, or stop the flood itself, but I can probably keep us warmer?

[She shrugged. Worth a try, right? And it would keep her mind off drowning.]

	Usually? It makes them easier to memorize. It's not like we can carry around the giant book we keep them all in all the time, right? [She chuckled a little dryly.] Paige isn't good at rhyming though. It was the first time I ever heard a spell done in haiku. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

It's a little of both. [She rubbed her arms a little.] If we don't already have something available, we have to make something new. Sometimes, the spells are old and hard to remember because of old words, but the newer stuff and the stuff we make on our own is usually pretty easy.

We do have to be careful, though. Just writing anything can have unintended consequences. Especially if it's more self-serving than helping someone else.
