I don't have a lot and I needed one tonight. or I'm glad you didn't lie and just say everything was going to be okay or even I miss her and I'm scared and I don't know what I'll do if she really is gone. Instead he settles for finding that hand and giving it a quick squeeze.] Shut up and get some rest. You know you'll get dragged out to deal with another crisis in a minute. I'll wake you up when they need you.

Thanks for being there to find. [She could be mourning him right now instead of worrying about him. There are a lot of people not currently in her line of sight who she's worried about. She knows they caught this early and worked all day to keep things as safe as they could be, but it doesn't mean everyone went along with their plan or that the fast rise didn't catch some of them off guard even if they intended to meet up. And once the island was overtaken the back up plans were there, but definitely on the meager side. No real way to keep people dry and warm.] You don't really think I'm going to be able to sleep right now, do you?

A story, huh? [Can she do that without it being something morbid?]

Once upon a time in a land far, far away... [Now what?] There was a girl who never took the time to be a little kid. She was always busy with something. She'd spend hours in dance class and practicing at home. And she was one of those annoying overachievers in class who didn't even really have to try, so she kept getting pushed up grade levels so they could get more effort out of her. She also had this thing for technology. Always taking appliances from around the house and pulling them apart and putting them back together. Sometimes in new and exciting ways. The toaster was better when she was done with it even if her Dad didn't agree. She never did take swimming lessons though and that seems like it was probably a pretty big oversight, but she still knew how to swim at least.

She didn't really fit in with the kids her age. She tried, but differences can scare people. And after awhile you just stop trying... [She's quiet a moment. Reflective, but that's no where to stop a story.]

Time passed and she had new differences to worry about. But this time there were other people like her because of those differences and she started having friends.

Eventually, she got older and met more people in a very, very weird place and she kind of had to relearn everything that had helped her up until then because they weren't always the best lessons. But she started to and she made some very, very weird and different friends who she is very, very glad to have.

Friends who have no one to blame for that story but themselves for asking for it. Also, there was a camel because stories with camels are just better.

	[He's okay to just lay there and listen to the story with the oh so mysterious protagonist. It's just noise, sound washing over him so he doesn't have to listen to Chuck not breathing. 	Weird or awesome? And how did you guess it was about me? [The playfulness of the questions is hampered by the dourness of the situation. It doesn't come out as lightly as it might other times. 	[Very, but she hangs with it. She does these kinds of things too. It takes time to get comfortable enough to bring up the big stuff and there's no good way to cushion it anyway.] On the roof with Reid when you had the pearl?
