200 — Anniversary Festival!

Happy Anniversary, Marina Nova!

The bots have been busy cleaning up the dome and setting up decorations for this momentous occasion, and by now there isn't a nook or cranny left un-pimped! Bright blue MarinaNova flags wave happily in the artificial breeze together with the colorful ribbons that have been wrapped around poles. The streets are illuminated by strings of lights and paper lanterns and each sector gate has been lovingly decorated with fragrant flower garlands.

Of course, that is far from all! There wouldn't be much of a festival without entertainment and your loving wardens have made absolutely sure that there's something for everyone!

Sector 0 Fairground: If you want to go faster, you have to scream louder! Sector 0 has been taken over by a fairground where you can find such old classics as the bumper cars, a haunted house of mirrors, a more romantic tunnel of love, a roller coaster, a classic merry-go-round and, of course, a ferris wheel.

Game Booths: Step right up! Test your skill and win a prize! Throughout the dome there's a variety of game booths, ranging from the classic ring toss and high striker to kissing booths and dunk tanks. There's also a duck pond game, balloon darts and goldfish scooping game — with mechanical goldfish, of course!

The prizes are all of the carnival variety, including but not limited to: stuffed animals, fake tattoos, cheap bracelets and necklaces, stickers, rubber reptiles, silly hats, wiggle snakes and sticky hands or other sticky things.

Performances: The other way to show your skill! There are two stages set up in the dome: the first one with sound equipment and instruments suitable for a musical performance — or perhaps just karaoke! If no one is using the stage, it will automatically play randomly selected music from a wide variety of genres. The second stage is set up to accommodate physical performances like gymnastics and when no one is performing you're treated to a projection of ball room dancers, gymnasts, modern dance, ballet and similar things!

There are also street performers scattered throughout the dome. You can watch robots juggle, eat fire, swallow swords or charm robot snakes! There's also face painting and the occasional robot dressed up as a human statue for your amusement.

Food: The food carts in sector 0 are now carrying food fit for the occasion. You can find classic carnival food like popcorn, cotton candy, corn dogs, funnel cakes and pizza slices, but also takoyaki, okonomiyaki, candied almonds, gyros, pirogues, egg rolls and of course snow cones and ice-cream cones. The theme has of course extended to the drink selection and you're welcome to quench your thirst with lemon shake ups, butterbeer, mead and malted milkshakes.

Waiting with bated breath I see. [ He strides around to the front of the booth as he speaks, the leisurely way he takes each step can't hide his intentions. This is a predator stalking its prey.

There's not much to catch up on, he's spoken to Stefan, so he skips right by that. His hands press palm down against the booth's countertop and he leans forward. ]

Only a few days here and already getting our poor Stefan into trouble? [ A dart thrown, but not completely blind. He heard their names on the network earlier, and while he doesn't know that details he feels safe making his own assumptions. ] Tsk tsk.

[ she tries to pretend as if it doesn't bother her - how he moves, watches her, comes closer. it's almost a sure thing, if it weren't for the way she ends up watching him from the corner of her eye. she's busy straightening up her few books in her bag, obviously.

but the mention of stefan, getting him into trouble, and klaus taking up the space directly in front of her - she lifts her gaze (defiant and full of loathing; too alert for fear not to be involved) and doesn't look away. makes a point not to. whether he's fishing or rubbing it in... she's changing the subject.

he's not the only one with a little information. ] I hope Rebekah's accommodating you well?

[ That's almost like confirmation that he's correct - but at the mention of Rebekah his shit-eating grin takes a colder edge. ]

There is nothing like having family at your side during trying times. [ Thinly veiled threats don't really exist in this space between them, only actual threats. He cocks his head to the side. ] It's a shame that the Salvatores have been so cruelly denied their own reunion, don't you think?

[ she hears the digs, feels them; her expression slackens and hardens. the unspoken (or rather already spoken and carried out) threats, the ones he's getting to she's sure, she receives those too. it's not the part about family that makes it count, but the mention of stefan and damon drive it home. her jaw tightens. ] If there's something you want other than my blood and an army of hybrids, why don't you just get to it so we can stop pretending you care about family at all.

(not on a holiday, sure.) she doesn't back down when he comes forward, because elena gilbert will hold her ground, and it's becoming incredibly clear to her why he's here. (to announce his presence, to put her in his so she feels it now, how utterly powerless she is here too. she's already refusing to be, out of stubbornness, out of spite, to protect the people she loves and even herself, and from herself. and she doubts it, her ability to do that, to feel it, to want it, but...) she blinks, her lips move into a slight sneer and she inches in herself. ] Rot in hell.
