200 — Anniversary Festival!

Happy Anniversary, Marina Nova!

The bots have been busy cleaning up the dome and setting up decorations for this momentous occasion, and by now there isn't a nook or cranny left un-pimped! Bright blue MarinaNova flags wave happily in the artificial breeze together with the colorful ribbons that have been wrapped around poles. The streets are illuminated by strings of lights and paper lanterns and each sector gate has been lovingly decorated with fragrant flower garlands.

Of course, that is far from all! There wouldn't be much of a festival without entertainment and your loving wardens have made absolutely sure that there's something for everyone!

Sector 0 Fairground: If you want to go faster, you have to scream louder! Sector 0 has been taken over by a fairground where you can find such old classics as the bumper cars, a haunted house of mirrors, a more romantic tunnel of love, a roller coaster, a classic merry-go-round and, of course, a ferris wheel.

Game Booths: Step right up! Test your skill and win a prize! Throughout the dome there's a variety of game booths, ranging from the classic ring toss and high striker to kissing booths and dunk tanks. There's also a duck pond game, balloon darts and goldfish scooping game — with mechanical goldfish, of course!

The prizes are all of the carnival variety, including but not limited to: stuffed animals, fake tattoos, cheap bracelets and necklaces, stickers, rubber reptiles, silly hats, wiggle snakes and sticky hands or other sticky things.

Performances: The other way to show your skill! There are two stages set up in the dome: the first one with sound equipment and instruments suitable for a musical performance — or perhaps just karaoke! If no one is using the stage, it will automatically play randomly selected music from a wide variety of genres. The second stage is set up to accommodate physical performances like gymnastics and when no one is performing you're treated to a projection of ball room dancers, gymnasts, modern dance, ballet and similar things!

There are also street performers scattered throughout the dome. You can watch robots juggle, eat fire, swallow swords or charm robot snakes! There's also face painting and the occasional robot dressed up as a human statue for your amusement.

Food: The food carts in sector 0 are now carrying food fit for the occasion. You can find classic carnival food like popcorn, cotton candy, corn dogs, funnel cakes and pizza slices, but also takoyaki, okonomiyaki, candied almonds, gyros, pirogues, egg rolls and of course snow cones and ice-cream cones. The theme has of course extended to the drink selection and you're welcome to quench your thirst with lemon shake ups, butterbeer, mead and malted milkshakes.

I can imagine. I'd heard people can be brought in from different times, but I didn't realize he had been here before. [Another toss and miss with the rings.]

That must be confusing. [He tosses his final ring and actually succeeds with this one, winning himself a stuffed bear he obviously does not want. He offers it to her in an awkward, please don't make me carry this thing around all night sort of way. She might be able to catch a glimpse of his new black wrist band peaking out from under his sleeve as he does.]

Alien hunter, actually. Although in all fairness I should let you know that i probably spend more time filling out paperwork and making coffee than actually shooting aliens.

It may be telling that this interests her as much if not more than alien hunting. Though she will be coming back to it.]

That's alright. We have a whole division for paperwork and coffee.

Well that's certainly my area of expertise. Someone has to keep things alphabetized and properly filed, after all.

He tries to recover.] It does leave a lot to be desired as far as an accessory is concerned. Relieved as I am not to be wearing a collar it's still a nuisance.

Small favors. [He's finally beginning to recover his composure, more or less. Its not that he minds people knowing who he is involved with, exactly, he just likes to keep his love life private. Its just a part of his personality. being confronted tends to put him on the spot.]

I'm an X-Man. [Not using past tense because you're an X-Man for life. It just tends to be a short life. Hers was. Long story.] I was training the next generation of mutants. [Says the nineteen year old. Not that she doesn't present a bit older than that.] Trained assassin. [Surprise?]

I'm from Chicago, but the training facility was in the Rocky mountains.
