The Lupin/Snape Lurve Community

A few months ago when the help_haiti community was holding auctions to raise money to support relief efforts in Haiti, I offered to make a few different knitted items, among them being hand-made knitted teddy bears. Lore was the winning bidder, and given the generous amount of her donation, I said I'd make three bears based on her OTP: Remus/Severus/Sirius.

I had made a Severus Bear for myself, and I wrote about the process here for the Severus Big Birthday Bang event, so if you're interested in where I got the pattern and how I did it, you can check that out.

Today's post, however, is to debut lore's bears! She hasn't seen them yet, because while I've been taunting her, I haven't shown her anything except one or two teaser photos of unfinished parts. Severus Bear and Remus Bear are complete and fully clothed; Sirius Bear still needs a hat and scarf, but otherwise, he's complete, so I've included him in the photos that follow.

I had planned to post a short ficlet for my Snupin Showers entry, but it got a little out of hand and isn't finished yet. However, I did have this prepared as a back-up just in case, and I will try to get the fic done and posted as soon as possible. The fic is done--you can find it here!

I love reading about werewolves, so I thought I would share a few books/series about werewolves that I really enjoyed, and take a look at how those werewolves compare and contrast with HP werewolves. I also came up with some potential Snupin crossover plotbunnies. I would like to work on the bunnies someday, but as I already have a backlog of projects lined up, please feel free to help yourself to any bunnies that catch your fancy!

I have really been getting into making fanmixes, collecting songs, thinking about lyrics and matching them to characters, pairings or stories. So, I thought I'd share a few of my current favorite Snupin songs. Good morning, angels! (Yes, it is morning here.)

So I was going to publish a fic today but since my beta still hasn’t sent it back, I will post it later today. (I hope...) Meanwhile I want to have some discussion!

What is your very first Snupiny memory? I know some of us have been in fandom longer than others and read Snupin fics longer but I believe we all have some general idea when the thought of Severus/Remus really crossed our minds that first time. Maybe reading the Prisoner of Azkaban? Reading a fic? Seeing a fan art? Seeing the PoA as a movie? Something completely different?

If you want to, you can of course tell more. Why did you fall in love with the pairing or what was that caught your attention. Anything you’d like to tell! But I’m happy with just some good memories and stories that I know you all have.

I guess I should begin and set an example. My first touch with Snape/Lupin was some five years ago. I had already fallen in love with Remus’s and Severus’s characters reading the HP books but I had never thought about the slashy vibes there. (Oh, my innocence...) I had found fan fiction just months before so I read about anything back then and came across a specific fic. I think its name could be translated as The Potion of Emotions and I had read some fics from the same author before. It was (surprisingly enough) Severus/Remus fic and I just saw the possibilities right then and there and started to search more to read. And, well, here I still am as enthusiastic about all the possibilities as I ever was. :D

Now I have some RL business to do but when I get back home I fully expect to see some posts here! Short or long, I don’t care, but I’d like to hear your stories. :)

And now you know why I didn't take a day in Snupin Showers. Emergency showerer at your service!

For example, the Fox show "House", I call "the Snape Show" because House just screams "Muggle Snape" to me. He even has ready-made demon on his back, the same way Snape did.

Good morning~!

Every day in my house starts with music of some kind. So, to begin my day of contributions, I'm starting us off with music. I began a Snupin playlist in iTunes about the same time I started playing Remus in an RPG where we were writing a strong Lupin/Snape romance. That playlist has grown considerably as the game ran for two years before shutting down and new music was constantly being added.

What I share this morning is a paired down version, the original twenty-five song playlist presented in a 'dialogue form', each song alternating perspectives from first Remus to Severus.

I have a huge weakness for Snape and kids, plus this is just a beautiful journey for all involved, with bonus bad-ass ladies. 

Dreams and Nightmares series by MusIgneus (NC-17, warnings to be heeded on site)
I always rec this one, and that's because I consistently reread it at Moonshadow.  I have favorite chapters, but the work is wonderful as a whole. I still find that the final chapter is one of the most emotionally fulfilling endings I've read in fic. I get choked up every single time.  It begins with "A Short Measure" and you follow the sequels from there.

Color, texture, beautiful composition - I love the romance of the second image, and the humor in the first.  The story on which they are based is also well worth a read!

This is one of my favorites of karasu's, for the gorgeous details and intriguing character design as well as the history of relationship implicit in the image.

This is a striking piece, wonderful for its contrast of light and shadow, the details that create such a great mood, and the patterns that so firmly evoke the era. Those jeans pulled tight across Snape's bum are quite appealing, too.  Hee.

A Moment of Grace by julythirtyfirst for Snupin Santa 2008 (page is PG-13)
An illustration for one of my favorites, 'The Waltz Continues' by busaikko, I love the lines and the beautiful emotion of Snape and Lupin's embrace.  The accompanying art, 'Wet Kiss', is great, too.

What Price Wolfsbane? by mific (G)
I love this style, so reminiscent of a fine woodcut or print. It's different, and yet still has a wonderful story with deep implications.
