This isn't my favorite Scribbulus_ink story, but it's probably in the top 10. I'm recommending it because it's romantic and so emotional, I get teary reading it every time. It strikes a perfect balance between drama and romance. I went to glance over the story, just to double-check myself, and ended up reading most of it yet again. I don't think you'll be able to resist, either. ^_^

There's angst and anger, regret and revenge, and time travel! What could have been hokey and trite is fresh and engaging. Severus and Remus are two souls that have to depend on each other and the mysterious Phoenix once they've gotten to where they weren't expecting to go.

It was a blast folks, doing this twice in one year! There were so many treasures to look over, and to enjoy once again. Many thanks to the authors and artists who have brightened my days and nights with their words and imagery.

I see the Snape/Lupin relationship as enemies or rivals. (Who later become reluctant allies and eventually lovers.) Which in hindsight made me realize that my first fandom OTP (Leon/D from Pet Shop of Horrors) has a similar theme.

Why people should read this: Draco Malfoy makes a cameo, one with petulant overtones, Severus conducts a "potions experiment" under the watchful eyes of the rest of the Hogwarts' faculty, and Sirius Black's portrait makes you want to cast a Silencio on it. This fic makes one wonder just what those Hogwarts professors got up to when Severus and Remus weren't there!

There's a lovely feeling of Remus being the soul of inadvertent romance and Severus the harbinger of not just a potion-fueled cure for lycanthropy. I grinned through almost all of this lovely fic. It's always fun to find a gem from another year, this time 2005, and another fest, the LJ comm known as reversathon.

“It's complicated.” Whenever Remus imagines trying to tell James – worse, Sirius – about his relationship (or whatever it is) with Severus Snape, this is always the phrase he starts out with. Complicated. Well, that's one word for it.

Ha, no kidding. And by the end of this short, steamy little piece, the reader very much feels exactly what an understatement that is! The entire relationship with all of its problems and complexities and need and desperation and things left unsaid is just perfect. And did I mention hot? OMG, so effing hot! Go treat yourself to this one.

Previously, I've done a Hawaiian-themed rec list and a Japanese-themed rec list, so for my final Decade of Snape/Lupin entry, I thought I would put together of a list of fics where Snape and Lupin travel to other countries. (Inspired by this comment from wolfiefics on IJ: "Makes you wonder what other 'geographic' themed stories are out there where Snupin Goes World Hopping?")

It's by no means comprehensive, and I know there must be a lot of other fics out there that have them going abroad, but here are a few of my favorites. (If they seem familiar, some of the entries were borrowed from past recs I've made on snapedom.)
