To Ben

Mr. Simoneaux,

Many thanks for a wonderful visit. I found your company to be refreshingly candid and delightful. Might I possibly entice you for luncheon on Friday? There is a quiet restaurant in town that is reputed to have exceptional biscuits.

Respectfully,
Mr. Jonathon Stanton IV

Effie woke in complete bewilderment, followed by fear as she felt her bed shaking. No, not just her bed, her room. The entire building. She yelped, clinging to her bed (which didn't help as that was also shaking) and followed centuries of instinct, hiding under her covers.

Once the world had stopped quaking, she peeked out timidly, then ran, snatching her cloak on the way to the door and wrapping it around herself on the way to the stairs, no stopping until she was outside and a good distance from the hotel, still surrounded by buildings, wide eyed and shaking herself, holding her cloak tightly around her, barefoot in the early morning chill and staying within sight of Ms. Sheedy and the chattering crowd of people forming in the street.

"Excuse me," she asked hesitantly of the nearest person. "What...what was that? What's happening?"

Mr. Thos. Murray hopes that Mr. Simon Belgrave will accept and appreciate the enclosed token of his esteem in gratitude for receiving him to tea last week. He found the visit most agreeable and hopes to be granted the pleasure of Mr. Belgrave's company again in the near future.

Wednesday morning, and Hattie had gone out for a walk with several of the other Beloveds at the hotel and (of course) a chaperone to inspect the damage caused by the earthquake.

They were a bit disappointed when they couldn't find any. It had seemed far too frightening a disturbance not to have caused any damage!

Edward

Santiago was in the general store, looking for supplies. He'd moved into his house and while he'd brought some things, it was still sparse. He didn't want to completely fill it until he had met the person who might become his match.

He smiled at the Two Spirit who ran the store as he turned the corner, only to draw up short when he almost ran into someone.

"My apologies," he said.
