RIDDIKULUS RPG
post-hogwarts trio-era

The year is 2000. After seven tumultuous years, everything is calm. Harry Potter has defeated the Dark Lord, and things are finally as they were always meant to be.

Hypothetically. Nearly two years after the war, and witches and wizards everywhere are still having trouble putting their lives back together. Missing friends, dead family, strained relationships, and social inadequacies are causing mixed feelings everywhere. What should have been a perfect time is now, to put it best, awkward. There are so many people who don't quite know what to do with themselves now that the world isn't in grave peril.

Lucky for them, there are still a few people out there looking to change that.

Riddikulus is a game focused on character development and interaction. We offer writing prompts, a driven plot, a quill-bearing Rita, and fun players. We hope to see you soon!

Wars always leave scars. Sometimes they're in the shape of missing limbs, or gouges in the flesh, pain in the joints or chronic headaches. But sometimes, they come in the form of nightmares. Sometimes those nightmares don't go away when you open your eyes, as you're forced to relive the horrors of your past. And sometimes these horrors haunt you your whole life, causing stress on your personal and professional life. Sometimes those horrors and those nightmares are so real, that you can't tell the difference between them, and every day life. That's when the nice young men, in their clean white coats, come to take you away.



To The Sanctuary.



The Sanctuary, a clean, safe, wholesome environment where former Order Members, former Ministry Aurors, and former Death Eaters can all recover from the horrors of war together, and learn to get along in a calm and controlled space, where everyone gets their own personal room, and an hour a week with a qualified therapist. There are visiting hours, there are group activities, there's a game room, and a large, beautiful garden out back just waiting to help the inhabitants of The Sanctuary ease back into a normal life and cast away their demons.



If only it wasn't run by a woman who would be better suited as one of the patients, instead of The Director. Cameras and microphones in every room, journals that are private to everyone but her, and the possibility of a punishment around every corner. Oh, you'll write home every week to your family and make sure to tell them how well you're doing, and how happy you are here.. or she'll never let you leave.



Even then, she might not.

[info]one2ndchance is a post war, AU game set in 2001. The war happened five years ago and everything is finally rebuilt and back to normal. Minister Ponter and his anti-Pureblood ways are out and Ministress Whirlington is in. Unfortunately it looks like a small group of Death Eaters have been trying to distrupt the peace and calm that has been restored. But in between the negatives everyone is trying to simply live their lives. Proposals have been made, friendships have been broken, and despite everything life is continuing on. We are an active, fun and friendly game and despite the fact that we have been around for a long time, we are always willing to work with characters back stories. We are accepting applications for all open characters, but we are specifically looking for Hufflepuffs, Ravenclaws, Weasleys and male characters. Are you ready to take a second chance at a first impression?

There's something out there.

The Durmstrang Institute was founded over 1,000 years ago to educate Eastern European wizards. It was set in the heart of the Black Forest home to werewolves, erklings, and creatures who do their stalking by night. But there are intelligent creatures among them, some who seek their own gain, and will stop at nothing to achieve it.

Durmstrang is touted as one of the best and brightest wizarding schools in existence. And now, faced with an unknown enemy, the students will have their education truly put to to test. Who will succeed? Who will fail? And how many lives will be lost before whatever stalks the students is finally found?

The Plot - Cannon through Deathly Hallows


It is August 20, 1998. The dark lord has been destroyed by Harry Potter and the wizarding world rejoiced. The end of the war brought change to the wizarding world, mostly for the better. People, especially muggle borns, no longer live in fear. The ministry has been thoroughly cleaned and is up and running, making themselves ready for elections in the spring.

The death eaters have been rounded up and some sent to prison but others who claimed to be Imperiused or coerced into service have been released with a pardon and a show of goodwill towards all men. Rodolphus Lestrange at the loss of his wife, claimed the imperius curse and is now working to serve the ministry to prove what he can do for society. He stepped into the political arena speaking for the unity of the wizarding world and has become quite popular with his show of intellect and concern for its well-being. Things are not always as they seem. Now that he has won the title of Minister of Magic, changes are coming.

After the final battle of Hogwarts, many parents complained to the Ministry Department of Education. Their children did not graduate, nor did they complete exams or get a proper education. There was talk of boycotting the school, forcing it to close. The ministry, and new headmistress, Minerva McGonagal, came up with a plan. They would offer an 8th year to those who should have finished to see that they could get a proper year of schooling and complete everything they needed to. They would have extra liberties as they would be of age as well. Most parents responded favorably and have agreed to send their children to finish the year properly. For those who could not attend, it is also their chance to make up for what they had lost, welcomed back with open arms and an apology from the school and the ministry.

Everything seems to be going well, but good and evil do go hand in hand and there are forces at work both at Hogwarts and in the Ministry as the dark side tries to reclaim power over the wizarding world. It is often difficult to see who is on what side, but the dark lord's fellowship is alive and well, building up enough momentum until they can rise again.

Under the warm sunshine, another summer is coming to a close and there are students eagerly (or not so eagerly) returning to Hogwarts; the girls are loitering, the boys are ogling, and the gossip is lingering, as is always the case in a group of teenagers. Love faces off with sex, grades face off with parties, and truth faces off with falsities in the everyday drama at Hogwarts.

However, since the Battle of Hogwarts, the Ministry of Magic has been slowly working on new protective measures to prevent such an event from ever threatening Great Britain's schools again. As years have passed, new restrictive spells have been cast on the grounds of Hogwarts. At the beginning of this school year, under the decree of Kingsley Shacklebolt, a radically developed charm will be cast over the entire grounds as a means to prevent the approach of evil spirits of any sort. Unbeknownst to the returning students and staff, however, this spell has a glaring flaw which has not yet been revealed; it cuts off all contact with the outside world.

As students and teachers are separated from their parents, their families and the rest of Great Britain, what will they do to cope? Can they band together in support, or will they attack one another in bouts of cabin fever? Though all faculty members are hard at work to find a counter-spell, it may not come fast enough to save some friendships, relationships, or even lives.

Oh, and there's spliff.

Summer 2024 at Hogwarts. Headmaster Filius Flitwick has just passed away. Minister of Magic Narcissa Malfoy has nominated her daughter-in-law, Board of Governors member Astoria Malfoy, for the position, but the professors of Hogwarts have another idea in mind: their very own Herbology Professor Neville Longbottom. Philosophies heat up through the summer months and before we know it the students - including 6th year Lily Luna Potter and 5th year Libra Malfoy - will be returning.

Surprisingly enough - they're not the only ones.

September first, the feast has been a success, the students are heading back to their dorms, and a bump is heard in the night. The seventh floor corridor is in sudden chaos - someone from another time has just stumbled out of a fireplace in the Room of Requirement.

As Aurors roam the halls of Hogwarts and our heroes of the Second War try to solve the puzzle of the blue fireplace, more mysteries are around every corner. Why are the dead returning? Who will rule the school? And how much tension can all sides endure before the wounds of past push them too far?

On June 19th, 1998 Voldermort was killed after he tried to take Hogwarts, there were many casualties on both sides and but it finally looked like peace was at hand.

Now almost twenty years later another threat rises from beneath them, it seems that something is attacking the children of Hogwarts. There is panic at first over the attacks since it the creature was in fact in Hogwarts and it was in fact a creature. When Charlie Weasley was put onto the task of finding it all he could comment about was that it was a rather large snake. No one though that it could be Nagini since she died with her master years ago, or did she?

For Twenty years she has been hiding under Hogwarts waiting for the right time to strike out and help her master regain his former glory. With the Boy Who Lived out of the way she starts by attacking students and if not stopped she will bring back the Dark Lord. The first student killed was Jade Krum, daughter of Viktor and Hermione Krum, but in true Hogwarts fashion the school kept going while taking extra measures. Minister of Magic, Percy Weasley has announced that they are doing everything in their power to stop the newest threat from harming more Hogwarts students.

Meanwhile the Death Eaters know exactly what's going on since their dark marks have been burning for a while now. Those who still walk the streets and have children in school are starting to recruit them into the fold and telling them to bring a friend. Those that can trust their children let them know what's going on, what this mysterious beast is and why it's killing.

Soon the Dark Lord will be back, will you stop him or help him?

War is, inevitably, upon those of us in the Wizarding World. Having only just admitted to the fact that He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named has returned: the Ministry of Magic has been going through much change. Rufus Scrimegeour is the new Minister and many can breathe easy as he seems to be a man of action. But, what can one do when the world is full of fear, and one can trust even their own shadow? The Ministry are arresting people, but they're the wrong people...and everything just seems terrifying! However even in these trying times there is hope, and happiness. One simply has to live. Many parents are terrified for their children and fear sending them away to school. Dumbledore has been coming and going since the attack in the Ministry and no one truly knows if they're safe or not anymore...even at Hogwarts, and sides are being taken.

This is Obscuritas, a 6th year trio game based on the events of Harry Potter and the Halfblood Prince. We encourage character development through plot, and the plots provided in the 6th book are to serve as mere guidelines. Apply today: which side will you choose?
