He's gone. There's no sign of him. His room is empty. His things are gone. I think He went back home.

For those of you who still needed suits, come to me. I'll finish what he started. If anyone here knows how to work with clothing, now would be a good time to step up.

A few years ago when I was back home and things had gotten especially crazy, my friend had brought all of us together and we set off paper lanterns to honor those who we had recently lost. I know it might sound a little cheesy, but it was nice and it felt like a good way to pay our respects.

So I made two this morning and I'm going to be down at the lake just after sunset if anyone wanted to join in.

Alright, listen up. There's obviously tension going on and something has to be done, but before we do that let me start off by saying this.

There has to be a source to this fog. I've worked with fog before, and smoke, I can usually produce enough of an air current to clear it out but it's not even making a dent. Either it's coming from a constant source or... I don't know.

I keep seeing children. Why did it have to be creepy kids?

The supply run was pretty successful, we've got the basic necessities but I managed to grab some stuff that people wanted, I tried to remember as much as I could.

Joey, I was able to grab some medical books for you. I hope they're alright.

For those of you who were looking for other types of literature, I grabbed a lot of fiction, some non fiction (mostly historical), comics that didn't have any familiar names, mythological books, psychology, fantasy, crafting, language, and a whole bunch of basic school text books. They look like they mostly range from the 100 to the 200 levels. I managed to grab some movies, too, and CD's.

I found a comic book about myself. And a couple of others about other people here. I didn't bring them back.

This is a public announcement for everybody who resides in the camp, please read this carefully and check in so I know that you're aware of what's going on.

I've run a blood test of the unfriendlies, the same type that got into the camp during the brownout. They are infected. The infection is contagious. I want to make a few points clear before we all panic.

- There were no pathogens found, which means that this infection isn't airborne. Which is great news.

- After doing some more tests, I've figured out that, although the virus exists in the bloodstream, it doesn't have the capability of surviving once it leaves the body. As soon as it hits oxygen it dies, which means that getting the blood of these things on you, although gross, isn't dangerous. You can't catch the virus like that.

- The virus can be transferred through saliva. More specifically, if the saliva of these things is injected or applied to an open wound immediately. The virus dies immediately in a saliva sample once it hits the air. However, a direct bite would be enough for the infection to survive and be transferred if skin is broken.

So if you haven't been bitten by these things, you're safe. If you have you need to reach out to Medical immediately, but I don't think that's the case because it seems to be a very fast moving virus. After infection it looks like it'll turn the person within 24 hours, if that.

Doctor Caitlin Snow is going to be working on a vaccine just in case someone gets bit, but now that we know what's going on we're obviously going to have to take extreme caution. Defense or anyone who's going out there is going to need to make sure all exposed limbs are covered in a thick material to avoid penetration in case a bite takes place. If anyone has any questions I'll try to answer them to my fullest capability, but I'm just a forensic scientist. Dr. Snow is going to be making an update soon about the vaccine and what she'll use, all serious medical questions and concerns should most likely go to her.

The suits for Sara and Natasha are ready. For everyone in defense, whether you have a suit or not, you need to meet up with a guy named Cisco Ramon in tech. He knows how to make specialized suits and he knows how to make them work with your abilities, which is why I don't set myself on fire every time I break out into a run.

He can't make you anything if he doesn't have your measurements and now that we know this is going on, all of us are going to need protection. You can drop a comment here under this filter for him so he can see it, either a time that you can meet up with him or your measurements. We all need to make sure we're protected against this, try to make it a priority.

In the interest of all of our future safety, what are the chances that I might be able to get my hands on a sample of the infected tissue/blood, as well as getting a proper containment system so it can be studied safely?

Containment and our safety comes first, obviously. But it would make sense to study whatever is causing the infected become like this, and work toward some type of cure or vaccination. I realize this could take quite some time between trying to build proper containment and studying it with limited supplies.

The usual struggle of losing socks is a lot more serious in this place. I'm down to one and I don't even know how that happened. Not one pair. One sock. I'd throw it out but at this point I'm keeping it just to be spiteful.

These clouds are getting me down, we should all get together and do something. Pepper's party was awesome, and I feel like doing community events would be good so we can keep an eye on each other for morale. We should do a trivia night. I'm all about the trivia.

Are we sure that this Harkness guy is safe? I mean, I get the concept of people playing different roles in different universes (believe me) but this is kind of a big deal.

Harkness. He's got a pretty nasty double where I come from, he's not as much as a problem for me as he is for people in a city around 500 miles away from me, but he's a problem nonetheless. I'm not saying that we should be suspicious or hostile, just saying we should keep our eyes open.

[He sounds a little rushed, but calmish, for now.]

Bravo, we've got a breach, Northeast fence is down, two infected. If you're not already providing back up I need you here, if you are then stay in location, this is an open call to anyone available. They're trying to run into the camp.

This might just be hopeful thinking, but I might do a run in the future and I'm hoping to find a literature source, a book store or something. We have a library but I think it would be smart for us to try and find recent medical journals, history books...

I don't know. Could be pointless. But if anyone wants anything specific let me know and I'll try. I'd rather not add on to the already expanding list that Alpha is dealing with right now, it can wait for the future but at least we'll have time to figure out what everyone wants.

I know I don't have to say this but keep your comms on, I want to avoid losing communication for obvious reasons. We're a team now and this is the first patrol that we'll be doing together without Alpha there for backup, so if there's anything we should know about each other we should probably get it out there now so we can use it to our advantage. I don't know if you guys have Metahumans where you're from but they're people who were affected by a scientific anomaly and it gives them abilities that humans otherwise wouldn't have. I am one. I plan on using that if we run into a bad situation. I don't want you guys freaking out.

Are you ready to spend Valentine's day sitting in the house with your best friend doing absolutely nothing while there's a hundred pretty women walking around this place?

Don't tell me you have a date.

I would kill for a peanut butter cup right now.

Or even a new pack of highlighters. I know there really isn't a comparison. But high lighters are a kind of addiction too. For me anyway. I know I'm weird.

Because I've heard there are new arrivals again, I thought I would mention that I'm Dr. Logan Collins and I'm in the med bay more often than not. If anyone needs medical attention that they feel they didn't sufficiently receive at arrival (because I believe the arrival exams revolve around physical injury as some people have, in the past, arrived in poor physical condition), please feel free to come by and Joey or I will take a look. If you don't feel that you can make it on your own, please contact one of us and we'll come to you.
