What: Truth time.
When: Night, after Barry's patrol

Rating/Warnings: Probably internal angst on Barry's part because he wouldn't be Barry without it? Also Flash 2x14 spoilers.
Status: Closed/Incomplete
The conversation that Barry had with Sara was wrecking him the entire time he was on patrol and Barry was secretly glad that it was uneventful with how distracted he had been. He wasn't sure if he could ensure complete concentration on a breach of one had taken place. He hadn't mentioned Earth 2. He wasn't sure if Cisco and Caitlin remembered it, or if they had come before the point of time that Barry and Cisco went through the breach, and in the end it didn't matter to him. They weren't mentioning it which meant that they didn't want to talk about it either or they didn't know, and Barry wanted to leave it that way. He didn't want to talk about watching Joe die. Watching Ronnie die again, watching Caitlin most likely die just to save them, and Barry didn't want to talk about watching an arm tear through Jay's chest because he, again, wasn't fast enough to pull him away. But then he started seeing signs. Cisco was particularly upbeat, Caitlin was extremely upbeat for someone who just watched her boyfriend get murdered before her eyes, and Barry started to suspect that she didn't know anything at all, which only made him want to keep the information to himself even more. He had to reply those scenes in his head, that didn't mean his friends had to as well. But Sara was right. Barry had learned vital information about Cisco and his abilities when he was in Earth 2, and it wasn't Barry's place to keep that from his friend. All he could do was pray that Cisco wouldn't want to fight. Cisco saw the struggle that Barry went through because of the role he had taken, how isolating it could be, how much danger it put those he cared about in, and Barry hoped beyond hope that it would be enough to convince Cisco to leave his powers be, or at least try to work with them for his own personal gain instead of trying to use them to become a hero. Barry wanted nothing more in the world than to have his best friend stay (relatively) safe behind a computer, but that wasn't his call to make. He would have to talk. How much information he would have to give up, however, was still up in the air, but Barry had a feeling that he would be talking about a lot more than he wanted to talk about tonight. His patrol was over and Barry threw the door open to the townhouse, groaning loudly to announce his presence and dragging out the sound of exhaustion and boredom the entire time he walked through the house to disappear into his room. He changed into a loose pair of sweatpants and a shirt that was too big for him, but beggars couldn't be choosers in this place, and he moved into the living room to collapse onto the couch and stretch out on his back even though he knew that Cisco would probably complain about it as soon as he came out of his room. He let his arm hang off the edge of the couch lazily before yelling loud enough for Cisco to hear him. "Hey!" He waited for a response, and when there wasn't one he yelled louder. "Cisco! Is there food? I'm dying. ...Cisco, I'm DYING and I know your home, is there food??" |
