Who: Thomas and Rena
What: Another overdue conversation
Where: The inn
When: A few days after this
You never realized quite how much you missed something until it was taken from you-- an old, even trite, bit of advice, yes, but one Thomas certainly subscribed to, ever since the kidnapping. He loved nothing so much as organizing a busy common room, seeing his staff move about the room so effortlessly, and to tend bar until late in the evening (or early in the morning, as the case might have been), sharing stories with the travelers.
One of his staff members, however, had been avoiding him- and Thomas noticed Rena's absence quite quickly, though he didn't mention it as such. It was entirely possible, after all, that she was just busy about her own tasks- goodness knew that she had more than proved herself ten-fold in his own absence, but that didn't mean it bothered him any less. The last time this had happened, she'd confronted him in the kitchen while brandishing various cooking equipment, and he wasn't eager to see that incident repeated!
Still, Thomas couldn't help but hold back- ever the peacemaker, he wasn't one to go seeking out a conflict. Instead he just pulled refills to set a tray up, and leaned against the bar for the newest gossip- hoping that Rena might approach him later that evening.
