Slowatus Notice
Hi!
You might have noticed my replies slowing down recently and if not it´s only because the worst is just to come.
I now have to go to school from early morning till night on Thursdays and Fridays and I won´t be taking my computer with me on those days so my Internet presence will be scarce to none.
And on Mondays - Wednesdays I now have a job to be at for most of the day and I can´t use Internet there. Which sucks because I spend the work time staring at the screen and I can´t use it for anything fun. But I have a job, so yay. So yeah, I won´t be around that much on those days either. I´ll get in some comments and stuff before and after work, I hope, but it´ll be a lot slower than usual.
I will be around on weekends but I still have school work to do... But I´ll try to be around as much as possible when I do have a free moment. If you want to interact with any of my characters (preferably Thomas since I haven´t been using him all that much) or there´s a mod work for me to do, please let me know <33

A NOTE ON SPORTS
Being a European, the American school system makes absolutely no sense to me. As such, nor does its high school sporting calendar. Since I want to play my characters as accurately as possible, I did a little research and compiled a list of estimated season dates and requirements so that it might be a little clearer for those who are either not American (like myself) or for those people who just don't know. :)
BASKETBALL
Season: December – Late February
Practice: Mid-November – End of season
There are typically 14 to 16 district games per team in a basketball season, with an average of two games per week (Thursday and Saturday). State tournaments (should a team be successful) are typically held during the final weekend of March.
FOOTBALL
Season: September - December (depending on ranking/performance)
Practice: August - End of season
Games are primarily played on Friday nights and are a weekly event. There are typically 10 games per team in a football season, not including play-off matches. State championships (should a team be successful) are typically held during the first week of December.
GYMNASTICS
Season: February - Early March
Practice: Continuous
Since it is a sport that requires constant attention, practices are continuous throughout the year. Sectionals and Regionals are usually held together over a two week period, typically on weekends. State championships are typically held during the first week of March.

Practice: End of February/Beginning of March – End of season

Archie's latest Friday Discussion
As I'm sure you all noticed, Archie's last Friday post sparked a lot of issues coming out. He and Macy have been trying to address as many as they can, but Kitty and I are both rather busy and not professionals. If we haven't gotten to a comment of yours that you really really want to play out, please let us know and one of us will try to address it ASAP. For all the remaining ones, though, if you don't care if it gets played out, can we just assume that Archie and/or Macy doled out some advice, whether generic or specific, helpful or vague? We don't want to miss anyone with anything important, but we're both blanking on the remaining posts.

Warbler Auditions: Sign Up Sheet
There are currently EIGHT open spots on the Warblers. Auditions to fill these spots will take place in game this weekend, the 22nd-23rd.
For now, I'm just putting the times for the Saturday. In the unlikely event that this fills up (or you just really, really want your character to audition on Sunday), I can add times in on Sunday. Otherwise just assume those times are filled with random NPCs.
Assume this sign-up sheet hangs on the door of the auditorium. If your character wants to audition, it's preferred that they sign up in advance.

All righty now, so here's the sitch.
Good news, I start work on Tuesday and it's gonna be great because for once I'll be able to afford things on the Internet, like fancy looking paper clips or whatever it is kids my age are buying nowadays. The Bad news is that I have no sense of how many hours I'll be working, which directly effects the amount of time I spend on the computer and on Dalton and whatnot. That and the fact that I'm doing a good 4 hours of homework a night equal a very busy Sam, meaning replies will not be very frequent whatsoever unfortunately. My current goal will be to aim for two a day but realistically that's hopeful.
BUT. I still want to do things because I owe it to myself, you guys, and to Connor since he's being awkward and uncomfortable. Poor child isn't used to what can only be called the Dalton-vibe. But he's gonna have to adjust, since it's no fun if he makes fun of loser kids by himself. I'm hoping he tries to fit in a bit as time goes on, lest he turn sulky and boring. Point is, let me love you all.
Also I'm planning to come up with a mystery word. Perhaps spotatus, for my internet availability is bound too be spotty? For 3 AM I think it's pretty swell.

Nicole again with another character. Idek.
Anyway, this is Tommy Donovan and he's a new little freshman at Dalton. He comes from a fairly wealthy family in Indiana where his dad's a dentist, his mum's a tennis coach and he's basically a spoiled brat, despite his parents best intentions. His older sister, Bridget, is a super-smart senior at Haverstone but they clash more often than not so don't have a huge amount to do with each other.
Tommy's a singer and dancer who has been planning his American Idol audition for the last few years. Dalton's just a stepping stone to his inevitable life as Future Teen Sensation. Because with talent like his, how could he not be?
His whole app is here but in short, he's shallow, arrogant and really needs to do some growing up. Feel free to hate him, he loves himself enough for everyone else!

So, I´ve decided to make Jeanette a regular minor character as opposed to an NPC. She has been way too chatty in my head for the NPC thing to be viable for much longer. I suppose you know a bit about her (she´s the Art History and Studio Art teacher, btw) already and if not, here´s her app.

I think it's safe to say I'm back!
Like Leah, I'm all done travelling (and I've spent today either napping or petting my new bundle of purrs!). I'm rehydrated from my week of trekking around New York City in 80+ degree weather, and I have to say that Spiderman: Turn off the Dark is RIDICULOUS, with crap writing, lyrics, sound system, and plot, but the technical aspects of the performance so made the price of the ticket worth it.
I'm going to try to catch up on everything tonight before heading to bed myself. Good to be back!

So I am finally back from slowatus! It's been an awesome two-ish weeks but I'm now back at home with no immediate plans to leave again. So technically, I'm all yours again, Dalton! So if there's anything you'd like to discuss, if I owe you a tag, if you'd like to plot with Caleb, Evan, Jace, Riley, or Mr Kendall, or if you just want to tell me how much you've missed me, reply here and I'll get back to you asap! Buuuuuuuuuuuut I'm going to sleep now because travelling has sucked all my energy and I don't want to faceplant the keyboard :D

i am flying back to school tomorrow (september 1st - clearly going to hogwarts) and moving into my dorm room this sunday. i also start classes on wednesday so my activity will probably be a little low this week, but i'll be back in order by next weekend. this is more slowatus than hiatus, but yes. you can always email me since i get it on my phone (wefinditinthesea@gmail.com) and this applies to eli, ryan, and mr. sawyer. :)

Fun Fact about Westerville
I'm still out, guys, and Archie probably will miss another Friday post. Pretend he didn't miss either?
I had to share this fact that I learned and can't believe none of us have made mention of yet--Westerville, Ohio, is the place where Prohibition began. It's the dry capital of the world, and it's something they're very proud of. Has a museum for it and everything. The guy I'm staying with actually went to college there, so he was telling me about it. Apparently, his college was incredibly anti-drink, but incredibly open about sexuality. Go figure!

So! Here we have Eli Reyes. (If you call him Elias, he won't respond.) He's doing his junior year over again at Dalton because last year, everything in his life changed and he just said "fuck it," to school and went on his merry way. That didn't really work out well for him, as you can see. A little bit more history...Eli grew up in a trailer park with his mom and godmother after the dad failed to step up. Last year, his mom found someone, and as you do, they dated and fell in love and got married. Eli was not terribly happy about this. He's also worked as a pizza delivery boy since he was fifteen, so it's plausible that he could've delivered to Dalton, should you want your character to recognize him that way!
In terms of personality, he's a bit shallow. Not in the first sense of the word, but more like - he'll be friendly enough, and he'll joke around with you and he'll have your back, but he'll never talk about himself. It started when he was growing up noticeably poorer than all the other kids, and it's just become his defense mechanism. He loves music and just recently brought his own guitar (with his own money, huzzah!) Eli also plays sports - football & lacrosse. Football was so he'd survive at McKinley, lacrosse is just because he actually enjoys it. Right now, he thinks he's waaaay too out of place at Dalton with all the preppy rich kids, even though he's technically one of them by now.
He's also straight, so you know, he may also feel out of place because of that. ;) But yes, have at him! He promises he won't bite (kinda.)

This here is Macy Grimes, Dalton's new Academic Advisor and co-Guidance Counsellor. I have a few main motivations for bringing in another GC, to be honest. One is that, let's face it, Gabe and Bas both need H-E-L-P, and it's awkward for/unfair to Spider to have to ignore their issues or write solo threads. The second is the fact that, given the issues that some of the boys have, a female counsellor seems warranted and might be the more ideal option for some students.
So, anyway! Macy will be 32 in November, and she's a graduate of Yale. She's got a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, but she spent quite a few years doing research, so this is only her second practising job despite graduating just shy of 27. She's really looking forward to meeting and helping both the students and the staff, so don't be shy about getting in touch with her! I'll be sure to get her Anon. thread up soon, too, and I'll edit the link into this post/have her mention it in her first proper post :)
