Who: Chloe Deacon & Amber McCall
What: Amber gets a visitor to liven up the weary hour now she's all employed
When: Wednesday pm
Where: Shoppette and beyond!
Rating: Low
Chloe had meant to visit earlier, she really had, but she'd been struggling a little bit more the last couple of days than she had been since she arrived; she'd been crying randomly and had gone back to trying to avoid all types of human contact, focusing on network interactions because at least then it seemed more or less like she had her shit together. She thought it might have been Mr Frost telling her that they had to train, and that Kelly might be sent out somewhere dangerous that had set her off on a spiral of miserable thoughts that were utterly out of her control. Another death in the family, another death in the family that was her fault because as much as Kelly was an adult and made her own decisions, she wouldn't have done that if Chloe had just been more damn careful. If she'd just been more careful with her powers and skipped out on the family event like she'd been planning to. People could tell her all they wanted that none of it was her fault, but no one knew the full truth. The full, shameful truth. Still. She'd taken a shower and towel dried her hair; it curled around her shoulders still a little damp but not looking as unruly as it might have done. She'd had something to eat and she knew that Amber would be finishing her shift at the shop soon, so she got dressed and went down to see her, knowing that at least seeing someone who she hoped could be a friend would lift her spirits. She knew that Jay was in training right now; his handler seemed like a hard ass, making him run and use the gym and stuff even though he didn't really need to. At least, she didn't think so. Pushing the door open, she smiled brightly when she spotted Amber behind the counter. "Howdy," she greeted, glancing around to see if there were any other people that Amber might need to serve. It didn't look like it, so she moved a little closer and leaned on the counter, resting her chin in her hands. "Havin' fun yet?" |
