“I dunno,” Amber shrugged. “Maybe. I was with a guy for a long time. Wasn’t perfect, y’know, but I think without the whole Super thing maybe it coulda worked? I think we woulda been married by now. Maybe.” Though, if Amber was completely honest with Chloe, or herself for that matter, she knew perfectly well that her and West had no business, at any point, being married.
Or a couple at all.
Amber laughed. Chloe’s sister seemed like a good person, and an involved big sister. That’s what Cricket had apparently been like—once upon a time, anyhow—mostly out of necessity. She imagined that, if Kylie had stayed, that’s what their relationship would have been like to; or at least the McCall approximation of it.
“Can’t say I know too much about your big sis, but from what I’ve seen, she seems like the type you’d want to get to plan a wedding. As long as I get to plan your bachelorette, of course.”
As Amber went through the rest of the list of questions, she just shook her head. “Honestly? I have no idea,” she laughed. “Maybe this isn’t the best science to pick your song. Might be better off just leavin’ it to the DJ at this point, if this is your best source of advice, you know? Can you even imagine that being a surprise?”
