"I started, yeah," Chloe said with a nod. "Lived at home, though, 'cause with the fees I couldn't afford to live off campus." She supposed her student debt would be wiped out by the time she left here, she certainly couldn't go back. It was a kick in the pants for her to have lost the chance to finish her degree, but it was more of a kick that she'd ended up here in the first place.
She wrinkled her nose. "He is kind of intense," she agreed, "But he's- I don't know if you know him, Handler Deacon? Not the one that arrived more recently, the one who came earlier on this year. He's my oldest brother. Matty's younger than him and Kels. But honestly, when I was at high school, if a boy even looked at me wrong he had all four of them looking at him wrong. Five if Marion was lurking somewhere in the house... but I ain't seen him properly in years."
She popped a bit of chocolate in her mouth and nodded. "I think maybe a lot of people here could do with somethin' to lighten their mood. It's... it's sucky bein' here and if we can help make other people happy too, that can't be a bad thing, right?"
She huffed out a breath "Maybe, maybe not. But it's one of those experiences I kinda wanted to have before gettin' locked up in a government base." She tilted her head. "The kids?"
