“It’s okay, Chloe – ,” Amber smirked, a little mischievously, as she ducked her head. “The chocolate bar is on me.” She never was going to earn much money working here, was she? At least in this instance, she could justify it; while it wasn’t going to make Chloe feel better over whatever was causing her so much pain, a little chocolate could go a long, long way.
Amber laughed as she hopped onto the counter. This also probably wasn’t anything that her manager would like, but since nobody was hovering around here to tell her to do otherwise, what was the harm? “Who knows though, right? Y’never know what’s gonna happen. I thought by now I woulda been married already, so shit is always surprising.”
If things had gone a little differently, she and West probably would have been married already, and maybe with a kid on the way.
Instead, she was here.
“There’s a few people around here I’d let do take charge of somethin’ like that,” Amber nodded. “They’d get the job done.”
Her expression became incredulous as she glanced at Amber before circling the girl’s choice. “You’ve never heard—okay, later we we’re just gonna go listen to some tunes, young lady. Alright, next question; you gotta give a presentation at work, do you spend the week rehearsing and feel confident, got a team with you so you feel reassured, or worry about it until its done?”
