The Cornucopia

The tributes rise through their tubes and into a temperate, if slightly chilly, arena. The temperature is approximately 45F/7C. Flashes of baby blue are visible in the sky, but only through small holes in a thick formation of bright white mammatus clouds. Glints of the golden Cornucopia can be seen by all tributes, but its exact location is hard to pin-point due to a thick mist that surrounds everyone and obscures the rest of the arena entirely. As such, tributes cannot see much past their immediate vicinity, and it is difficult to pinpoint any outlying gear on the ground.

There are several escapes from the Cornucopia, but none are obvious or visible due to the mist.

The arrangement of tributes is fairly random, with some district partners closer together than others. Tributes cannot see through the Cornucopia, or the mist, very well. So locating allies (and enemies) is difficult.

Tributes each get a private session with the Gamemakers to show off their skills. Based on their performance, the Gamemakers will rate them with a score. The sessions begin with the male from District One and end with the female from District Twelve. Tributes have access to anything they saw during the public sessions only. All tributes will wait in the cafeteria until their name is called. After their session, they are directly returned to their district team for more interview prep time.

Scores will be announced on television in the evening.

All comments will remain screened until after the bloodbath. As no one is suppose to know what a tribute did in the session, this will provide a way to maintain an IC element of surprise.

Please try to keep displays realistic, keeping in mind tributes only had a few days to "train". Scores won't go up for unbelievable feats of skill. Your tribute doesn't have to be good at everything to get a decent score. (eg. Peeta scored an 8 for strength in weight lifting) Everyone makes mistakes, including Careers.

Escorts and Stylists have some time to do a little last minute fretting before sending their tributes out in front of all of Panem. The districts go forward from One to Twelve.

In each district, Peacekeepers and camera crews are out in force. Male and Female tributes are roped off by age group and away from the rest of the district's population. Excitement and anticipation lace the air in Districts 1, 2, and 4 while dread and fear are felt almost everywhere else.

The mayor and all victors are seated on stage in the background. It's a big moment for the Escorts, who take center stage.
