In each district, Peacekeepers and camera crews are out in force. Male and Female tributes are roped off by age group and away from the rest of the district's population. Excitement and anticipation lace the air in Districts 1, 2, and 4 while dread and fear are felt almost everywhere else.
The mayor and all victors are seated on stage in the background. It's a big moment for the Escorts, who take center stage.

Prometheus Clyde is the premier auctioneer and go-to guru for rare artifacts. He holds somewhat sporadic auctions, all of which are huge hits and generally leave the attendees wanting more. He's an expert at finding highly valued and desired items -- if he has it, you want it. Prometheus also has a highly sensitive fashion sense and wouldn't be caught dead in anything but the latest trends, which, of course, goes for cosmetic surgery as well. Currently, he sports permanent body glitter and is also wearing a vintage Bit Coyne eye patch (though it is in honor of the recent trends set by Jet and Zap).
The auction itself is open to both Capitolites and Victors alike -- though its no secret the former's bids are favored, particularly when the items in question are things victor may wish to remove from public access. The auction house is open for about two hours prior to the show beginning. There is a recess for lunch and refreshments, as well as an after party to celebrate everyone's purchases. Plenty of sponsors abound, so smooze away!
OOC NOTE: If your character placed a bid on something, please make a note in the appropriate sub-thread. I'll do a roll and let you know the winners after everyone has had time to respond. Capitolites do get a weighted preference.
NOTE 2 One district will receive a special sponsor bonus for participation, due noon Feb 17.
At this point, you two are as prepared for the arena as you will ever be. Rest up and don't be nervous. In an average year, simply surviving the Cornucopia increases each tribute's odds substantially.
You're both pragmatic, though, and aware of your chance of survival. We can't escape the fact that only one person will come out of that arena. Regardless of the outcome, we will be delivering some bad news to at least one family in District 3. Do you have any messages you'd like to pass along in the event of your death?
Ace, Machine --
You will undoubtedly hear about this tomorrow. District 7 has proposed an alliance consisting of all tributes not from Districts 1, 2, and 4. I'd like to hear your initial reactions first, but I will say that I am in favor of telling the others that District 3's tributes are in, regardless of what you ultimately decide, which may afford you some immunity at the Cornucopia.
Good news! Machine and I have agreed to ally. The specific terms are still pending negotiation, but suffice to say we will benefit from [...] mutual trust.
Overtures of friendship to the male tributes from Districts 5 and 7 appear to have been well-received. District 6 female was also amicable, but I question her usefulness. District 6 male appeared [...] ambivalent. Will approach District 12 male tomorrow if possible.District 4 female has targeted Machine alrea
