It's almost hard to remember why I moved back to the states sometimes after visiting the North Shore. The surf is sweet. Someone called me a Haole though in the break. That kinda stung. :(

Apparently because today is something called Fathers Day and I am not a father, the girls feel I need to be kicked out for the day. I believe the phrase I have heard that fits the situation is 'what is my life'

You have a lot of holidays here. My dad died in a mining accident when I was eleven, Prim was seven so I think she probably doesn't remember him much, but he was My father taught me everything I needed to survive and to keep Prim and our mother alive My father used to sing these songs that This one at least makes more sense than some of them though. Do you ever have trouble keeping them all straight?

Also, I think I have a lead on a job, but does anyone need anything done over the next couple days? I guess most of you don't have grounds, living in the complex, but if you do I'm stronger than I look and I know plants. I could do garden work. Or something else, that's just mostly what I know.

Do you want to go see a play? They have that here, in town, and I remember you used to say that if we had a theater like the capitol you'd go to it every day. See? I'll have a job soon, and I can get the money for this, Dad would have, if he were here

I haven't actually thought about my dad in a long time. I grew up in a circus, every weekend he used to take me for a corn dog and a funnel cake and we'd take in the show. We didn't usually get to watch since we were performers so it was special. When Father's day would come around I'd turn it back on him. I found a place that sells funnel cakes and coudn't resist. I'm glad I didn't. It brought back some good memories..

Hey guys, could I get a huge favour? Kon's offered a trip for Abby and me and I wouldn't ask for the time off but after what she went through, she kind of deserves it. Can you manage on your own for a few days?

Hey, so I get that a lot of people here have rough relations with their fathers. Believe me I totally get it; I'm right there with you. But there are a lot of men out there who stand tall and strong and are excellent parents or father figures, and this day is meant for them. So, here's to all you good dads out there. You have my utmost respect and admiration. Thank you for bringing happiness and stability to a child, whether they are yours or one of the lost ones. Your children will never really know just how lucky they are.

Having a special day for a parent - whether it was the one last month or the one this month - is just plain stupid. They're supposed to love you but they don't

It takes a strong man to raise a child. It takes an even stronger man to scoop a child out of a spaceship when all logic demanded that he turn in the opposite direction and leave that child to it's fate. Jonathan Kent adopted me into his life. He did so knowing that I was not from his world, and put everything he cared about at stake the second he decided to do so.

I was not an easy child to raise. One day I would be crawling along, the next I would be hurling sofas across the house in a childish temper tantrum. A farmer who was barely scraping by was nowhere near equipped to bring up someone like me; somehow, though, my father did. I'd tear a wall down, he'd put a hand to my shoulder, look me calmly in the eye, and then he would teach me. He was a patient man. Always wise. Always understanding. I know that I terrified him; I know he often felt that he had no idea what he was doing, that maybe someone else would be far more suited to raise someone up like me.

But if it wasn't for my father, I wouldn't be the man that I am today. If it wasn't for my father, I could be a science experiment or a corrupted instrument of power. Jonathan Kent did more than save my life when he found me in that field in Smallville -- he gave it to me.

I'm honored to be his son and I hope that he knows it.

I usually go out to see him on Father's Day to tell him this myself, but it looks like I won't be able to do that this year so I thought I would say it here instead.
