What if, instead of turning away eighteen year old Tom Riddle, Headmaster Dippet allowed the boy to assist his favourite professor with his classes? What if that landmark decision started a chain of events that would lead to Riddle becoming Headmaster himself eleven years later, thus changing the face of the Wizarding world as we know it? While the political environment outside the school would remain relatively the same, the one inside would never be the same. Muggleborns now forced to prove their magical abilities even before they step foot past the doors of the castle and never allowed positions of authority and influence, they are the dregs of the school, punished and ridiculed for what they cannot help. Purebloods have the run of the place and allowed to do whatever they want. The teachers are afraid to cross their Headmaster, and the school governors, one of which is Albus Dumbledore, have little power when it comes to Riddle's demands.

Not all are willing to let him have his way with the school and its students though. The Ministry is split in its support and the Wizengamot's hands are tied. Meanwhile Riddle has been gathering support from Purebloods and former students to form an army of staff for the school and legislators within the Ministry to push his ideals. But there is one who opposes him, one who has been building his own army of staff and Ministry people: Albus Dumbledore.

The year is 1977, and the war is just beginning.

The Dark Marks

The Marauders are in their Sixth year in school and just when it seems that freedom is at their fingertips, the world they know is being thrust into darkness and chaos. Two muggle born students have gone missing, the school is on the brink of shutting down and the world as they know it is threatened by the one who cannot be named. In these perlious times the students have a choice, sit on the side lines and watch their lives disintegrate before them, or take a stand. While some may fight for what is good and right, more and more the dark marks are appearing and what happens if they cannot be stopped?

World’s End is a panfandom game focusing on the survivors of destroyed worlds, and what they choose to do afterward. Some try to eek out a new existence at “The World’s End,” a world many of the displaced arrived at after the destruction of their home world. Others seek to combat what is commonly called “the darkness,” the eater of worlds, and prevent it from corrupting and destroying even more worlds. Some study “The Door” at The World’s End, and the machinery left behind by Ansem the Wise, hoping to gain information that may allow them to restore the lost worlds and those who lived there.

The outlook is bleak, and oblivion waits just outside the door, but they aren’t called “survivors” for no reason, and there may be a way to fix this yet. But they’ll have to work with strangers to do it, if they don’t destroy themselves from within first.

All considered, a professorial position at Hogwarts is a pretty cushy job.

Room and board, a steady salary, the opportunity to mix and mingle with some of Britain's most talented witches and wizards and, of course, an impressive notch on one's resume, teaching at Hogwarts remains one of the most coveted jobs in the country, even when you have to break up duels between overexcited second years. Lately, though, "Hogwarts staff member" hasn't been such a free and fancy title as it used to be.

It started with the Revelation. When the crisis in Japan led to the unmasking of the Wizarding world to the Muggles, everything went to hell. Riots. Wars. Genocide. Comparatively, the United Kingdom's had an easy time of it, short of persistent threats from the Republic of Ireland and other nearby anti-Magic countries. When Headmistress Olivia Ogden created the Committee for the Regulation and Control of Magic Within Hogwarts and insisted her staff join - whether they agreed with the Committee's Muggle-friendly policies or not - things started to get a little sour around the staff table.

The students are starting to get restless, and regardless of the Headmistress' rules, the staff have begun taking sides. Librarian Gwen Hilt has been turning her eyes the other way as students sneak into the Restricted Section. Groundskeeper Linden Zeller has been scrambling to keep up with the students and trying to keep his eye out for trouble. Ultimately, as Hogwarts divides itself once more, it is the staff who decide which students will win.

Nearside is a city on the verge of mainstream development, located in Central Pennsylvania next to the Carlton Mountain. Built by a collective community of artists, Nearside is a unique city of locally owned businesses, farmer's markets, and a thriving force of creativity. Solaris Rd. is the most popular section of the city, offering everything from a popular coffee house (a place for local bands, speed dating, karaoke nights, and much more) to a costume shop and a yoga studio to a daycare for Nearside's youngest residents, the city has countless amenities.

Several years ago a university was built and with it, there has been a rapid growth of corporate business and mainstream entertainment but the residents still focus on keeping Nearside's close-knit, small town charm.

*Mod Note: Nearside is a social game, focused on character development and looking for serious writers. The year is 1978. The war against the Death Eaters has been boiling under the surface for almost a decade now. It was little things at first, easy to ignore, escalating to bigger attacks, bigger crimes, and of course, retaliation. Now the country is about ready to tear itself apart as the Ministry steps up their attempts to defeat Voldemort and no one is really sure who they should trust, if they should trust anyone at all. Who can you turn to when your own government is as likely to kill you as the masked criminals roaming the streets?

Even the muggles are starting to notice. Attacks in muggle places are becoming more frequent, the Death Eaters getting more bold. And everyone is asking the same question.

How long before it's open war?

The First War is a Post-Warts, MWPP era RPG. We are canon through November 1st, 1978 and then we diverge, allowing the characters to tell their own stories.

All through time, people are living their lives as normally as possible considering their current conditions, whether it be war or peace in their respective times. They are blissfully unaware of what will come of their futures--or what might not come to pass.

The year is 2010 and people are arriving in an unfamiliar Hogsmeade. The town looks familiar enough for some former Hogwarts students to identify, but for others it has changed drastically and for some it's a pale comparison of what it is to be. These people are arriving from all eras, starting with the beginning of Hogwarts. People are likely to meet their future children and possibly even grandchildren. People are likely to find out what they didn't want to know about their futures.

Then there's the obvious question of how they arrived here. Who caused it and what is their purpose?

The Ministry of Magic is working diligently to find out why these people are here and how to send them back to their own times, but can this be accomplished before time itself is changed?

Every version of the story is different. The conversations, the tiny details; they're all told in their own way, with different twists and turns and points delivered to properly execute the tale. The story has changed over time, repeatedly leading those belonging to different cultures with opposing beliefs clashing over the subject for hundreds upon hundreds of years. In the end, however, the story never really matters. It's the name, the significance, the idea of what he represents that strikes nothing short of pure terror into the heart of man.

Lucifer. The fallen.

As the angels tell it, it was his refusal to bow to humanity that brought on his fate. He believed that the angels were better, finding God's favoritism toward the mortal beings that walked the earth to be nothing short of distasteful. In turn, Lucifer chose to rebel by wickedly twisting a human into a demon. Rather than bringing forth the change in order as he had hoped, Lucifer instead found himself being punished by God for his disobedience. Delivered from the heavens, Lucifer was forced into a new home - a seemingly impenetrable cage trapped within the fiery depths of Hell. Six hundred seals bound Lucifer to his cage. Six hundred. Only sixty-six, if done correctly, would be required to break in order to free Lucifer from damnation.

Thousands of years later, as prophesied, a righteous man shed blood in Hell. Against the torment that found him in the pits, Dean Winchester began to crumble. The very first seal was quick to follow, breaking the pathway to all others like it open to those who sought to free the fallen from his chains at last. Demons began to rise up, led by Lilith - Lucifer's First, the very human that he twisted into a demonic form that brought forth his own downfall - to break the seals. At the same time, perhaps the first in thousands of years, angels too began to route themselves toward the seals to oppose any and all who dared attempt to destroy them. A silent battle, unknown to most of humanity, waged on between the angels and demons.

In the middle of it all, stood two brothers. Each with a role to play, both with the best of intentions at heart. With the angels pushing at one side and a demon guiding the other, the Winchester brothers, too, fought against the demons, steadily gunning their way toward Lilith. The Winchesters were key players in the struggle between Heaven and Hell. That had been anticipated from the beginning. What no one expected was for the impossible to occur: while bordering a little ways short of the halfway point, Lilith destroyed the thirtieth seal and, upon doing so, unknowingly shattered a barrier between worlds.

Soon afterward, people from those worlds began to appear out of thin air.
