The last few months have entirely kicked my butt.
First, blocking my mom. I mentioned it some before, but she's tried to reach out a few times and it's been a struggle to maintain that boundary. Then grandma going to the hospital and changing my travel plans to be there for her and then Thanksgiving, a few odd weeks, and travel for Christmas. I'm only just now starting to get back to a normal schedule, but then I had an MRI early Saturday morning and then Snowmageddon arrived on Sunday. We still have maybe a foot of snow on the ground, but at least it isn't coming down from the sky anymore.
I'm not in bad shape- all in all, my mood has been good, I've just been so dang tired. But I'm working on getting back into game things and writing- it's just a little slow going at the moment. I always want to hibernate in the winter, so I'm not surprised that I've struggled so far- but I'm glad that it hasn't turned into total catatonic depression.
In other news, I started a cross stitch project for the year- a temperature stitchalong that was released last year and I got the stuff to do it but never started it. So I've gotten everything through the fifth stitched so far, and I'm adding the next little item daily as I get high/low temperatures for the previous day. And I'm working on restoring an old American Girl doll for a friend who had to leave hers behind when she left home- the doll and a few accessories were supposed to be here yesterday, but with the weather are delayed. But I have the book and some other things that I wanted to gift said friend, so hopefully that's well received. And my house desperately needs a decluttering/cleaning, but that..hasn't happened. I meant to start this weekend but then the storm and my foot mri took more out of me than expected and I napped away my Saturday.
I've finished two books so far this year- Bull Moon Rising by Ruby Dixon (who wrote Ice Planet Barbarians and that series) and Will of the Empress by Tamora Pierce. I enjoyed both- Bull Moon Rising was silly and fun and smutty and adventurous, while my journey re-visiting Tamora Pierce's Circle of Magic books has been really good! I think I started to read Will of The Empress when it first came out, but never finished it because I hadn't gone back to reread the middle quartet. But I'm now on to Melting Stones and we'll see how that goes! I'm impressed with how well her books have held up over the years.
I suppose I should get back to my work and try to catch up on game stuff.
But if you want Lucy, Charles, or Lyra for anything, let me know! I'm a little slow, but I'm trying!
