There seems to be a little confusion about the recent move to Emory, so this post is to try and clear those things up!

• The hotel burned, and people were magically moved to Emory University Hospital.
[Edited to add]: The hospital is in Decatur, Georgia. This is not the midtown location. There are many Emory locations in Atlanta. We're located at Clifton Road.
• Although the rooms chart is not yet updated, the rooms are much the same as the hotel rooms. They have hotel beds, not hospital beds. There will be single rooms, double rooms with two beds, and rooms with one bigger bed. I'm thinking maybe even a couple of suites with a king and a twin bed, for those who have children.
• Everything your character had in his or her room in the hotel is now in their new room. There was one exception because it made sense. Because Eames and Arthur now have a supply run office, the maps and any relevant notes Eames may have had are now in his office, which he has not located yet. If any other character is missing anything, then it's just gone because everything moved to the character's new room.
• The hospital is zombie free, at the moment. People need to work together to board up the ground floor, because the walkers are going to be coming soon!

Mod Post, Please Read

Okay, kids. The mods have discussed the noms and what not, and we have made our decisions. While the decisions are mod generated, we approached it with in game knowledge.

The list will be documented below, but first:

• If your character has been placed in an upper level position, you are required to post in the nexus comm sometime before next Saturday (August 25, 2012) inviting others to join your team. In some cases, we will have multiple team/organisation leaders, and in that case only one person will be required to make that post, and that person will be noted below with an asterix by his or her name. Any character who does not make a post before August 25 will lose the position.
• These posts will be linked to a master list, in the mod journal which will be linked in our acceptance note for easy access.
• Co team leaders MUST work together. This may mean that OOC communication is necessary.
• The following decisions are final, at this time. Positions can change over time, based upon in game events and what not, but for now the positions documented below are solid (pending the required posts).
• Communication is key. The point of this is to make sure we're all on the same page, so that we as players and our characters know who to talk to about what aspect of life and survival.


The following list appears on everyone's communication devices upon waking in the hospital so that everyone has access to the information.

Mod Post, Please Read

Totally forgot to cut off nominations yesterday, but no one snuck in under the wire, so it's all good. Nominations for leadership positions are now closed.

The mods will look over the noms, consider in game factors, and determine the best way to proceed.

I don't know what the time frame will be, if we can come to a conclusion tonight, or not. Hopefully we'll have it all sorted by the weekend.

Please be patient with us. As mods of such a wild and crazy game, we need to consider all the options and information in order to make the best and most informed decision we can. We can't rush this, and we don't want to!

A nomination doesn't mean someone is guaranteed a position. In game factors will help us determine the best course of action. Our goal is to move forward, and do what's best for the game.

Update!

I think most of us are aware Fi and Sean are back in the game. Fi is back on the mod team, and this weekend is a time for the mods to get together and work things out to ensure that the game runs smoothly and efficiently and lasts a good long time!

In game, we have the ongoing issue of electing leadership. Daryl has a post here where any one can either self nominate, or nominate anyone else for any kind of leadership role.

The post will be locked down on Wednesday, August 15, 2012. Once we have all the noms in place, the mods will evaluate and analyse the noms and determine the best and most efficient way to proceed. We will keep players informed, as we make decisions. The plan is for the leadership roles to be determined through in game events, and we all want this to run smoothly and fairly, so it's not something we want to rush.

If you have a character who wants to assume a leadership role, please reply to Daryl's post no later than Wednesday. Once the post is locked down, we will be analysing the noms and because it is a huge thing, we won't be accepting any late noms.

As always, we are open to ideas, constructive crit, and suggestions. Any and all concerns will be shared and discussed by all mods. You can contact us all via the mod drop box, which is here, comments are screened over there.

Mod Post, Please Read

Wow. The game is really thriving, and I appreciate every one of you that is a part of it! Players are what make or break a game, and this one has far exceeded my wildest hopes when I decided to do it.

But, there are a couple things that need to be addressed. The main thing is leadership roles. We have a security patrol in place, we have organised supply runs and medical and kitchen duties. We have posts where people have offered to utilise their skills by training others in a variety of self defense methods. What we don't have is a clear hierarchy of command.

[Edited to add: Teaser: We're going to need clear leadership for an upcoming plot, so yeah. This is happening at a good time!]

I'm the first to admit, I slept through government classes. I know what the president does, and how we have a system of checks and balances in place so that one person doesn't have all the power. But beyond that? I really don't know the difference in the different seats and titles and such. What I do know is there is a strong need for clearly named and recognised leaders within this game.

So, we are going to set up some kind of council. The timing is bad, because of my school year starting tomorrow (I had my preplanning week last week, the kids start bright and early in the morning, which means I will be EXHAUSTED this whole week, more so than last week). But, we'll work around it.

Daryl has no interest in being said leader, but I feel he's the best choice to try and set something up, because he organised the first supply run, and he has set up, scheduled, and maintained the patrol around the hotel. All he's going to to is bring forth the need for council, and the suggestion that the people pick their own leaders. He is not assuming any leadership role (as I said, and I think he's said in game along the way, he does not want to be a leader at all).

I want to do this as fairly as possible. Many of our characters have military backgrounds, some might have government backgrounds. Some may want to come forth, some may want to shrink back no matter their qualifications. I'm not sure yet what's the best way to go about doing this, I'm going to think on it tonight and tomorrow, and hopefully get something going tomorrow evening, if I'm at all conscious. But this week, surely.

Please be patient while we work this out. Please don't take anything personal. Please consider all angles, all facts. Please be respectful of each other both IC and OOC. I'm the first to admit, I don't know the fandoms for half the characters, maybe even more. I don't know what Character A is capable of, or how Character B would react in any given situation. Sometimes that's a real hindrance as a mod, but what can you do? I can't read and watch every fandom that crops up, no one can. But we can be respectful of each other and the characters we don't "know". Along this line, please refrain from telling other characters to 'leave', when opinions vary. I know for me as a player, that makes me feel unwanted.

I'm open to thoughts, constructive crits, and suggestions. I'm screening comments, so feel free to speak your mind. I'm also available by email or IM.

Sorry I'm spamming the OOC today, but...

Points are updated!

Everyone starts with 100 points. If you're in the game at this point, you've been awarded an extra 100 points, so no character has less than 200 in the earned column.

The points balance is your available credit for shopping, once shopping opens. I wanted to do that tonight, but it's not going to happen. I need to sleep!

Shopping will be opened sometime tomorrow, and will run through the week, I think.

• Items may cost more points now that we've had time to accumulate more points.
• Some items that were available last time may not be available this time.
• Some items will be available that were not available last time.

And, so you can think about if you want to do it or not, canon updating will cost 50 points this go 'round.

ROLL CALL

It's roll call time, kids! I don't really feel the need to do an activity check, but I do need to get a head count and make sure we're all still interested in the game.

Mod Post, PLease Read

While the supply run threads remain ongoing, the supply runners have returned to the hotel.

We're currently discussing by email any future events, so that these characters can resume play in game, while the threads remain in progress.

Daryl will be returning with Sophia Peletier, who bolted from the lobby upon arrival. Andrea's team returns with Andrea dead, assaulted by walkers and put down by her team.

Characters who did not go on the supply run are welcome to post and talk about the run, and Andrea's death and what not. Any net posts relating to the plot are worth 10 points rather than the usual 5.

A scene will go up shortly, for the first responders to receive the wounded. With House's player on hiatus, we'll handwave his role in helping out, and hopefully we can keep things moving.

The next game plot will likely be done a little differently, but we'll see how it goes when we get there. I'll be taking slowatus next week, as I'll be going to visit my brother and my goddaughter in Virginia. I'll think on plotty things and probably try to do something mid-to-late July.

MOD POST, PLEASE READ

We are off to an amazing start!

Sign ups for the first plot arc have closed. Volunteers for the supply run will be split into two groups, we'll let you know which group your kid is in once we finalise the info.

The supply run will likely happen this weekend. Obviously real time =/= RP time. The run will happen all in one day, I think. Real time, it may take a week, with so many people involved. We're all going to have to work together to make this work!

Any character can earn extra points by reacting to the plot in the aftermath, but only those characters who signed up can take part in the actual supply run plot. We'll work with anyone who is unable to participate due to RL obligations, but I'm really expecting things to run smoothly.



One More Thing: Don't forget to get your character a room! Go forth and request! Any character who has not asked for a room will be randomly assigned a room this weekend. Save me the leg work, go now! You can lump all your characters together in one comment. Whatever works for you! Just do it!

Also please hit the Contact List if you haven't yet. If someone wants to plot with you, it's easy access.

I know, I know. I'm spamming the ooc. Sorry! Hopefully this will be the last one!

Since we're getting a lot of sign up for the plot, the supply runners may be broken down into two groups. I'll keep you posted on that, but I'm going to hold off making any decisions, and give people who may not be near the computer right now a chance to sign up!

The real point of this post is to let you know, there will be a Friend's Only post in the mod journal which is a calendar or events. Past events, obviously, are pretty much set in stone. Future events may be altered, changed, whatever, so...basically it's a work in progress and just because the calendar says the shop will be open on June 23 doesn't mean it absolutely will. It means that's my plan, but things change, so just know that any future dates and events are flexible.

If you happen to think of something that you think would be an awesome plot, or mini event, anything, drop a comment on the mod drop box. I'm definitely very open to ideas, thoughts, suggestions and all that. I may be running the game, but it's your game as much as it's mine. You ahve a voice, so speak up!

I also want to say THANK YOU. We're off to a great start, and I am so very excited about this game. I think it's going to be AWESOME. Well, it already is! Let's keep it that way!

Okay, so this is going to be a plot driven game, with a lot of room for writing and exploring and creating and all that good stuff. But, now we've got a strong character base, I want to do an organised plot.

There is a maintenance post here, for your convenience, if anything is missing or needs adjustment along the way.

I'm pretty sure everyone has tags in both the nexus and scenes comms, but I can't guarantee I didn't make mistakes and typos along the way. If you try to add your character tag and it doesn't take, let me know!

For characters with alternate identities, due to the fact we are using tags to track points and activity, the tag is combined as such: bruce wayne | batman.

If you have recently added a character, and the comment is still on the holds page, you don't need to tell me said character is missing from Taken. I will get that updated shortly. Rooms will also be updated soon, make sure ALL your characters have a room assignment, since everyone was given a room key at check in!

The in game check in is not mandatory, but it is a quick and easy 20 points.

The issue of zombie immunity has come up.

Per canon, we have determined that Claire Bennet (Heroes) and Sam Winchester (Supernatural) would be immune.

As far as species, Angels, Demons, Vampires, and Weres would likely be immune.

It seems feasible that anyone who is half...something would probably get sick, if they got bit, but wouldn't die from exposure.

Please reply here if you think your character might be immune, and we can hash it out!
