Mos Post, Read and Reply (Mandatory!)
As stated the other day in the OOC, Daryl has posted to try and establish some kind of order/chain of command/whatever you want to call it, because clearly something has to be done to get everyone on the same page.
Daryl's post is here and I would like everyone to take a moment and seriously consider responding.
Our characters are in a difficult situation. It makes sense that characters would try to step up and establish various things, like securing buildings, trying to find an antidote to zombieism, security, running the kitchens and the medical side and what not. Thing is, there's been some characters seemingly acting at cross purposes, and saying it's for the good of the group. It's not in the group's best interest if no one knows what anyone else is doing, and so everyone just does whatever they want without regard to each other.
I'm the first to step up and say I could have done a better job modding, and put some kind of hierarchy in place, or at least set the game up from the get go to accomplish such a hierarchy. I didn't. And while there have been some in game upsets I don't think it's too late.
I'm using Daryl as a mouthpiece, and I must apologise to him for sticking him in that role. It makes sense, because he has lived in a zombie ridden world before, and he's the best candidate among my boys to step up and speak out and try to make a change. And as the mod who set the game up, the fault lies with me, and it's up to me to figure out how to get us back on track, on the right track.
I have always known it's impossible to please everyone. You learn that real quick, when you come from a huge family. And so you have to try and figure out what's for the best, in the long run? What's the best course of action, to keep things running as smoothly as possible? That's what I'm trying to do here.
Please be patient with me. I'm making this up as I go, but I am giving it a lot of thought, a lot of planning. That's why I didn't have Daryl post the other night. I needed to sleep on it, and communicate with a couple people and what not.
If you have any thoughts, ideas, constructive crits, or suggestions, I am open to hearing whatever you have to say. I RP for fun, because I enjoy the hobby. I don't do it for extra stress and headaches, I doubt any of you do it for that reason either. So let's eliminate the stress and communicate! I can't address something if I don't know there's an issue.
I'm available by email, AIM, or comments here. PMs aren't the best idea, I'd rather not use that medium. But I think most of you know, I am laid back, easy going, and I really, really, really don't like confrontation. I really, really, really prefer communication.
To give me a record that everyone has read this, I need you to reply and tell me the first character you ever role played if you can remember! Anyone who does not reply over the next few days may be removed from the game. That's how freaking serious this is, in my opinion.
