I've sort of been surprised before about just how long I've been here, so I'll skip that part of this post and instead focus on how in that time I've met way more people than I would have ever expected. I spent a number of years traveling on my own before a bunch of wild adventurers shook up my life, so maybe I should be used to that. The difference between that and here, though, is how we're all from such varied, different places. Back home we were a scattered group across continents, but here in Vallo it's worlds.

I know this isn't news to literally anyone here, but it just had me thinking and I wanted to ask: what's your original home like, wherever you were before you were here? From those I've talked to, it's been a real variety with some having similar to Vallo itself, others from places with no magic, some in space. So, if you're so inclined, tell me about it.

Oh and I should add that the last thing I want is for anyone to get too overwhelmed or bummed with homesickness, so don't feel like you need to answer this if it'll be too much. I'm curious and want to get to know folks, but not so much that I want anyone to feel bad.

You don't have to agree. The great thing is we all have different opinions and can freely share them.

I suppose I'm just curious if you've done anything to poke at finding out whether or not your suspicions are true.

No, I've not looked into finding out if my theories are true. However, no one knows why we're brought here. No one knows why we're taken away from here with no notice. If the powers that be had nothing to hide, then why not tell us those things? Sometimes people come back. How? Why? Surely someone or something controls that.

I've heard many say Vallo is a second chance. I can see that and can understand that belief. I may have even said it once myself.

Why is that some have many family and friends here and some have none? If this is a second chance, a great place, why bring some in with no one familiar to them at all? Which leads me to being compliant. I've not seen anyone ask or demand to know why they're here. I've seen no protest or even petitions about it. Perhaps bringing family, friends, children, husband/wife/significant other here is to make us more compliant, make Vallo feel more like home which leads to being compliant. Not rocking the boat. Also, we get things from our home world. I believe that is another form of making us compliant. And if the powers that be are good and have nothing to hide, again, why not tell us why we're here? If it is for a second chance then say so and tell us we will or may bring others from your home world and provide you with things from to make your new life more comfortable?

If it is for a second chance, why doesn't everyone get pulled here? Why me? Why you? Why any Outlander who is here? There are many many people in the world who would do almost anything for a second chance. Why aren't more here? Millions or billions?

Maybe brainwashing wasn't a correct term to use, but in my opinion, compliance definitely is. Also, why can't we leave? If this place, the powers that be are so powerful surely they could bring us back if we wanted to go visit somewhere and even wipe our memory of it they wanted. Sure, we could chalk everything up to magic, but all magic has a source, someone controlling it.

I didn't think I'd write so much. Sorry for the novel. I wanted to answer your question and have as best as I can in sharing my thoughts and opinions. I'm saying Vallo is a horrible place, but I also don't see a reason to hide everything I've mentioned if everything is good and on the up and up.

*I meant to write, I'm not saying Vallo is a terrible place.
