Domino slid up onto the counter, watching Nate as he moved around hte kitchen. He was so gorgeous when he moved. It was one of the first things that had attracted her to him. Even in battle his motions were graceful, almost as if he was dancing with his opponents.

Her thoughts strayed to the latest battle, despite her best efforts, and her mood quickly changed, leaving her bouncy, lustful thoughts far behind.

The thought of lying flashed through her mind, but it was msotly out of habit. She eyed the food, which looked really good, and decided her mood shift hadn't adversely affected her appetite.

"Just thinking about the whole Sinister thing last week." She took a bite of her food, shrugging. "It sucked, not being able to be there with you. Being helpless." If anything had happened to him, she wasn't sure how she would handle it, now.

"Being half a world away from a fight that I know you're in isn't exactly going to make me feel awesome. And knowing it's because I'd be a liability just makes it worse."

She rested her head on his shoulder, wrapping her arms around him. "It's just a thing, I guess. Something I'll have to get used to. Even after the kids are born, one of us will have to stay to keep them safe while the other one goes into the battle like an idiot."

	He hugged her close. "When the kids are born, and even now, I am working on training others. I have no intention of leaving you or the kids behind. Others can fight. "I know. But you know as well as I do that we're never really going to live life as civilians. There will always be that one crisis that's too close to home, or too big for others to handle."

She enjoyed his kisses, and being in his arms. "Hopefully the next time the kids will be born and able to at least walk, so they won't be just dead weight." It was a pretty optimistic view, really. If they were still back home, she'd have been certain that the kids would be the target of assassins the moment they were concieved.

"They're just. . . it's kinda funny, really. I haven't used my real name in years, I never lived in one place longer than I had to, and I only let myself belong to groups like the Six Pack, who weren't exactly the closest of people. Now I've got a house, a family, and my driver's liscence says 'Domino Summers' of all fucking things. Yet, this is the life that feels weird to me."

She laughed a little. "But it's a good weird. And I don't regret losing that life as much as I thought I would when I was living it." Her arms tightened around him a little, her head resting on his chest. Slowly the fear was seeping out of her, and for a moment she just sat there, enjoying being in Nate's arms, the kids' emotions a faint background buzz of warmth and slight squishiness. She eased her grip a little, and the feeling of being squished abated, though not by much.

	She kissed him, then moved to nip gently at his throat, having to pull him down around her stomach. It's pretty amazing, Nate. But I'm glad to be here with you, and to share this incredible future together. The angst went away, and was replaced by hope and contentment.
