8/26 Midsummer's Night Dream!

[info]summerviewmods
[info]summerview_park
Midsummer's Night Dream Performance
Ahh, the play has finally arrived. Director Tom Bertram has done a wonderful job transforming the small theater once again; this time into the dreamy forest setting of Midsummer's Night Dream, perfect for a warm August night.
The entire cast outdid themselves once again! EDMUND BERTRAM has a moment where they have flatulence during a quiet moment on stage! While laughing backstage at Edmund's added sounds, LYDIA BENNET misses a cue. Otherwise the performance is quite good and HENRY CRAWFORD arranges for each of the cast members to receive a rose (how kind!) Bravo to all! Post below how your character reacted to the show, your player's IC responses to what happened on stage or thoughts, and OOC discussions of performances etc.

The manor feels very quiet — even our dear hostess has ceased her gossiping.

I did see that we shall be having another play, and one of my favorites. I look forward to trying out... perhaps Titania? (I jest.)

I'm just curious...are these sheets of paper with all these bits of gossip a frequent occurrence?

That and I don't even know whom the Bridgerton family is.

A Summer Seaside Dance

[info]summerviewmods
[info]summerview_park
FOOD/DRINK INTERACTIONS DANCING OOC/OUTFITS
Instead of a formal ball, an outdoor celebratory dessert and informal dance is organized in the town square of the lovely little seaside village guests have found themselves at. The square is lit up with torches and candle light, tables are filled with ice cream, watermelon, plenty of desserts, and large amounts of strawberry lemonade and mint iced tea. There is a fireworks display in the middle of the party for the delight of all!

6/23 Twelfth Night Production!

[info]summerviewmods
[info]summerview_park
Twelfth Night Performance
Ahh, the play has finally arrived. Director Tom Bertram has done a wonderful job transforming the small theater into the seaside town where Sebastian and Viola have washed ashore. The cast outdid themselves! Although Miss Lydia Bennet did manage to fall on her face during one of her first entrances, she recovered and finished her part with aplomb. Mr. Sidney Parker was a very serious Malvolio, which made it all the funnier when he forgot some lines and had to adlib most of a scene. Thankfully Miss Hyacinth Bridgerton, playing a servant, managed to be so funny in the scene she earned herself a standing ovation!! Post your character's performance, how your character liked the productions, any backstage shenanigans, all are welcome!!

JOURNAL || ATTN: LADY WHISTLEDOWN

[info]unaffected
[info]summerview_park
JOURNAL || JUNE, 14TH.
ATTN: LADY WHISTLEDOWN
I have, despite my better judgment, done what is expected of my sex. I have endured this malicious gossip with as much humility as one can be expected to possess. I have held my tongue, despite the fact that there is nobody but me to defend my name. I have been subjected to unwanted speculation and have found myself the subject of whispers and sympathetic smiles and still, I have said nothing.

Now it seems that after doing everything in my power to escape the attention of our host, I find I am to once again see my initials printed in these papers for what appears to be, no other reason than the cruel amusement of our host.

So pray, tell me Lady Whistledown. What is it that you want from me? Surely if your hope is for me to find a match, that would be better achieved by not broadcasting my lack of fortune, my perceived emotional state, or unfounded rumours of romantic entanglements for all to see.

Kindly keep my name out of your godforsaken papers.

Lest someone think otherwise, I am not the EB of note in Ms. Whistledown's writings this week. For one, I am not new, I am simply not one to make myself the center of attention. For another, I was, in fact, in attendance at the ball.

However, to my fellow EB, having missed a couple of balls myself, I think we might enjoy each other's companionship in such an environment such as this.

OOC: following the May 24th plot-if you attended the tea in the Green parlor. Feel free to have your character respond 'truth dosed'!

Oh la! I find myself positively unable to keep to myself some thoughts! I don't know what happened, but as soon as I sat in my room I felt COMPELLED to write, and the thought most on my mind was how very handsome so many of our number at Summerview are indeed!

So, without any ado, here is Lydia Bennet's most handsome men of Summerview Park:

At number 5 is Henry Crawford. Mr. Crawford has a handsome smile and is very charming indeed! However, while his person is quite fine and he dresses very well, he lacks the adventurous nature of other men that prevent him from being quite so dashing.

Number 4 is the imposing but quite handsome Sidney Parker. Mr. Parker is a new arrival and I have yet to spend much time with him, but from afar he seems a little bit more closed off than other members of the top of the list, and this perhaps detracts from his good looks.

Number 3 is Captain Frederick Wentworth. It should go without saying, but he is both very kind and very dashing and an excellent dancer. Captain Wentworth had adventures on the high seas and has many interesting stories so that just completely adds to his appeal. Dashing!

Number 2, and this was hard, is Captain Martin Denny. I have known Denny for some time and he is not only handsome but kind and affable and easy to talk to. He's always up for a laugh and is perhaps the best dancer I have ever encountered. He is truly a delight, and yes, what a handsome figure he cuts in his regimentals!

Finally that leaves us with Number 1, Mr. George Wickham! Mr. Wickham is truly the whole package, from his handsome face, his friendly and open manners, his quick wit and fine person, all of which make him truly the star of Summerview and any place that is fortunate enough for him to grace it.

Now, all the guests here are very fine and I mean no disrespect to any not in the top. This is just from my head and after tea today could not help but to share! Do say all, who do you think are the most attractive?? I am curious your thoughts!!

Charles Bingley - Journal #2

[info]decentfellow
[info]summerview_park
Knowing well that she does not wish to be mentioned in such communiques, I am writing this here with full knowledge and agreement of Miss Bennet.

Prior to Saturday evening's ball, we had not made any plans to dance together in excess. Indeed, though I did pen my own name to Miss Bennet's dance card for the first two turns of the evening, I did not claim anything more than that. I was even witness to Mr Henry Crawford claiming a turn of his own, but by the time music had begun and couples taken their places, we once more found ourselves across from one another, quite without intending to be.

In one round, Miss Bennet and I both attempted to abstain from the dancing entirely, with each of us taking up separate places at the refreshment table. But, again, the same outcome was unintentionally achieved.

While this was most assuredly an unkind trick from our Hostess, I implore you all not to allow such events to color the reputation of Miss Bennet, who has certainly done nothing to earn any ill judgment.
