It is the Sweethearts Ball! Guests will arrive and receive their dance card, only to discover they have already been filled in by Whistledown and they are required to dance with that person. The dance is mandatory-any guest who tries to stay away will find themselves zapped into the thick of it all. Try to enjoy the romance!
Instead of a formal ball, an outdoor celebratory dessert and informal dance is organized in the town square of the lovely little seaside village guests have found themselves at. The square is lit up with torches and candle light, tables are filled with ice cream, watermelon, plenty of desserts, and large amounts of strawberry lemonade and mint iced tea. There is a fireworks display in the middle of the party for the delight of all!
It is Miss Georgina Darcy's 18th birthday! In her honor, a large cake is brought out and the birthday honoree is given a throne of honor. The cake tastes like their favorite flavor, and, for one dance the entire room is empty except for Miss Georgiana and her choice of dance partner.
And now we come to the weekly ball, and after a strange few days experiencing the future, Lady Whistledown announces that all the men will need to be asked by the women to dance. Men are welcome to say no, but if they try and ask for a dance their partner can't write it down. Enjoy modernity!
I am so amazed at what our journals have turned into! And I have discovered the most AMAZING thing! They have NOVELS ON HERE!
I have been reading this book called Twilight all afternoon and I can't put it down. It is so romantic, about a boy who is a VAMPIRE!! It is so riveting!!
The ball this week starts later than usual, and it is a masquerade! Whistledown has some mischief in mind and hopes you choose a mask that will make you have a little extra fun.
I fear I have not much of a voice this morning, and I have quite the aching head.
Oh dear, I do think I had too much to drink last night. At first I thought I was just being forgetful but then by the third drink, I knew something was strange. And then it seemed rude to leave my cup full!
It's another ball at Summerview Park, this one as lovely in terms of decor as the last. In light of the light colors, the punch is sparkling apple, and some might notice repeated dancing on the part of some.
The second ball of Summerview Park proves to be slightly less eventful than the first, despite some shenanigans on the part of several guests. What does your character do?
It was lovely to meet everyone at the assembly. I will confess, the idea that we were required to stay until matched seemed a bit much to me and so I hopped on my horse, intent to reassess and see if this was truly what I wanted.
Unfortunately, no matter how far my horse and I rode, we just kept coming back the other side of the Park.
Ladies and gentlemen, I would get comfortable. I don't think we can physically leave.
Your character arrives at the Park, is shown their private chambers and given their journal with instructions, and told to come formally dressed to the assembly. It is held in late afternoon, before the evening meal, and everyone is formally introduced so that all are acquainted for the duration. You are welcome to thread or make narratives here, or you can make separate threads as you wish. The ball will hear Lady Whistledown welcome them to the assembly, but try as they might, they will not see her. What is this place, and who is this woman, really?
