I have held my tongue, despite the fact that there is nobody but me to defend my name. I have been subjected to unwanted speculation and have found myself the subject of whispers and sympathetic smiles and still, I have said nothing.

Now it seems that after doing everything in my power to escape the attention of our host, I find I am to once again see my initials printed in these papers for what appears to be, no other reason than the cruel amusement of our host.

So pray, tell me Lady Whistledown. What is it that you want from me? Surely if your hope is for me to find a match, that would be better achieved by not broadcasting my lack of fortune, my perceived emotional state, or unfounded rumours of romantic entanglements for all to see.
