Status: In Progress

Jacob couldn't remember large portions of the night before. Irish Jimmy, James Donnelly, had given his life in an effort to stop Templar sabotage over at Chatham Dockyard. Jacob and some of the older lads had gone to strike back for that loss, when that had been seen to they'd returned to find the others already drinking and celebrating. Jacob was never one to turn his back on good drinks and better company when he could have it and so allowed himself to indulge in a way he hadn't since Evie left for India. There had been singing, which he had taken part in as he was very fond of a drink and a song, and dancing, something Jacob had resisted until someone slipped themselves under his arm and pulled him to dance. Thankfully, at least where the dancing had been concerned, that was one of the parts missing from his memory, but unfortunately, it also meant he didn't remember his dance partner. The dance partner he was fairly certain he'd dragged out with him after the barmaid called time, and likely the same person he felt leave the bed when he was unfortunate enough to start coming around.

He blamed Evie. He could always count on her to stay sober, or at least more so than he did. She always bounced back faster even when she had too much. Now she was in India. In India with her precious Greenie. So, in truth, it was Henry's fault. Henry was the one to blame for his missing memories and that sick feeling in his head and stomach. Good ol' Greenie. If the man was still in London he might have broken into his shop just to turn all of his curios slightly to the left, after all, he had it coming. But Henry wasn't there. Evie wasn't there. It was just Jacob now. Sir Jacob Frye, leader of the Rooks and the Master Assassin watching over London. Jacob who could not spend another minute in bed no matter how desperate he was to stay and fight his way back to sleep.

It had taken a while but he did somehow find the strength to climb out of bed. Climb was a strong word, more like crawl really, but he wasn't going to admit that to anyone. Eventually, he did manage to relieve himself and get his face, neck and other bits washed at the basin while doing his best not to meet his own eyes in the mirror above it. He knew the mess he'd find there if he looked and he didn't need to see it. After that came a tonic that did seem to quiet his stomach and ease his aching head, though he still was not yet fully himself. He only started feeling like himself once he was dressed in his dark coat, well-armed and headed for the door, though he did hope for a quiet day something he was likely to get as everyone else had to be suffering at least as bad as he had been.

Though maybe he was suffering more than he thought as when he opened his door and stepped out it seemed he was somewhere else.

There was supposed to be a landing and then stairs down to the rest of the house, not a hall that was decorated in a strange yet possibly expensive style. And there was supposed to be a blank wall across from his door, not another door with a man standing in front of it. He was dressed as an Assassin, he could see that clearly, though the fashion looked a good century or so out of date. At least the fellow was wearing the same confused look he was likely wearing. "You alright, mate? I didn't know it was time for fancy dress."

Edward rolled his eyes at Jacob's comment but didn't get much of a chance to say anything afterwards. The floor had started to move them along, which definitely caught Edward off-guard. How was that happening? Was that normal? What was wrong with just walking? He looked a little baffled, while trying to concentrate on what Sophia was saying as well as his new surroundings. There was a lot to take in. How much further until they reached the bar?

He caught sight of the gas giant in the distance and his mouth fell open. They truly were among the stars. It was a miracle, truly. He looked out the windows with a look of awe in his dark brown eyes. He had explored the waves with his ship and his crew. Was it possible now to explore the stars?

"Are we able to find a place and claim it as our own?" asked Edward. Of course, he was going to have to find a place to call his own, especially if they were staying on the station. Perhaps he could always convince Jacob to either live with him or nearby. Something about the other man made him feel less lonely and in a time where he had been through a great deal, loneliness would made for a terrible companion.

While Edward might have been awestruck, Jacob was struck with something else. The planet seemed so much larger than he could have fathomed, and the endless space beyond it. He hadn't really been prepared for the scope of all of it, sure the station's size was hard enough for him to really get his mind around, but space? It was just too much. It was too big, so big that suddenly Earth and the life he'd known seemed suddenly so small, insignificant and unfairly brief. He suddenly felt very, very mortal. The longer he looked the colder the back of his neck began to feel and he was certain his heart was about to beat out of his chest, almost like he had fallen into a panic even though he knew he was in no danger.

He took a breath, blinked, and forced himself to look away from the window. The station was at least easier to look down at, even with its incredible size.

"If so, I claim the place at the end of the bar." Jacob commented though there wasn't as much amusement in the words as there might have normally been. It made him force a smile in an effort to make up for it, even as he refused to look up.

She had watched their reactions. Edward looked like he would be content in jumping in a star cruiser tomorrow if he knew how to fly it. But Jacob had gone pale, and she went into nurse mode. Stepping forward she took a hold of his left wrist, and started counting off his pulse in her head. "There are a lot of places you can claim, but I'm not sure the end of the bar is one of them. I'll show you how to get into them, because we'll pass a few between here and the club I'm taking you, and then you can make the choice of where you want to be." She answered flawlessly while she ran a check list of Jacob's symptoms off in her head.

"Sir Frye, how old are you? And in months or years tell me how long it's been since your last doctor visit." Sophia couldn't hide the concern in her tone. It might have been an almost panic attack, But she wanted to be sure.

She had expected Captain Kenway to be closer to Jacob's response, since he had fewer forms of technology that he'd been exposed to. That it was the opposite was a little surprising, but she didn't let it show.

Edward looked to Jacob when he spoke. He saw the change in him but he wasn't sure what was wrong. Of course, everything was overwhelming. From the station itself, to their meeting, and the view outside the windows. Was Jacob covering up how he felt the entire time? Putting on a brave face? That was what men did, especially around women, wasn't it? Not that ladies like Mary hadn't taught him much about the strength women had but there was a part of him that still thought upon those things the way he had been brought up to think on them. Or perhaps he had been putting on a face for Edward too? The Welshman knew he had been trying to put in a brave face.

"It'll be all right, mate" Edward said, reaching over to pat the mans arm. "We'll get a drink soon enough. Maybe then all of this will start to make more sense" he smiled, hoping to offer some encouragement. "Never did I think I would see such a future, or tread upon moving floors. Stand beneath a sea of stars and share this moment with people from far ahead of my natural future" he remarked, quite taken back by everything.

That attention was what he absolutely did not want in that moment so Jacob turned to what he always did when things got out of his control. Distraction and deflection. With his father and George it had been acting out. With Evie it had been picking fights. Everyone else it would be either very aggressive flirtation or trying to make everyone else as uncomfortable as he was. He wasn't sure what he was going with now but he wasn't going to stay quiet. He forced a bigger smile and shook his head a little, not resisting when she took his wrist. "Oh, love, that's sweet of you but if you wanted to touch me, all you had to do was ask. I welcome all personal interest in the guise of medical interest." He glanced toward Edward but not higher than his shoulders, "You, however, can always assume that I will say no, I would rather not think about where your hands have been."

He sighed a little and shrugged, knowing his heart was beating a little fast but he was making the attempt to calm himself. "Twenty six years old." He answered, finally meeting her eyes, mostly to prove that he was fine. "I know, but if I were to shave away the facial hair I might actually look it. I can't quite remember the day exactly, but I visited a doctor less than a month ago, perhaps a little more than a fortnight. I required a bit of assistance with a wound and with returning my arm to its socket, so I can assure you that I'm fit as a fiddle. Unless you want to check me over a little more thoroughly, and in that case, we can send him along to the pub and you can I can find somewhere less conspicuous for me to disrobe."

Sophia was purely professional. Even if a little color tinted her cheeks, when she let go of his wrist. She didn't shy away from meeting his eyes with her own set of hazels. Which were a slight bit more green than brown today. Checking his pupil. He was holding on, but for how long? "Alright Romeo. We'll save the disrobing until you come see me for your checkup, and vaccinations. If you had stitches for that wound I'll probably need to take them out too." She was content for now, but she stepped up behind him and placed her hand between his shoulder blades and pushed him forward.

She wasn't wholly unaffected by his flirtation, a blush had started to pain her cheeks. Highlighting her freckles. "Captain Kenway, if you could please go faster, it would be appreciated. Don't stop until the hallway ends. Go go go. I'm leaving you two with Bryn, she can handle the flirting better than I can." She painted his discomfort as her own. Men and their pride.

Edward smirked to himself at Jacob and Sophia's interaction. He was certainly quite the flirt and charming with it. Not that he was paying that much attention, of course, but it did amuse him. Before he knew it, Sophia was urging him to keep moving.
"All right, all right" he said, holding both his hands up briefly. "As you wish my lady, and thank you for all of your aid" he said, turning to her and bowing low.

He straightened himself up again and walked over to walk side by side with Jacob, reaching to put an arm around his shoulders in a friendly gesture.
"If you were half as quick of wit as you are smooth of tongue, there might be a chance for you in this world" Edward said with a cheeky smile. "I do believe the bar awaits us"

Reacting to his flirtation was certainly the wrong move on her part, but Sophia was saving herself from the worst of his attentions by pushing them on. That was fine, he would certainly see her later and he should be over whatever odd sensation it was that seized him by then. He was already beginning to feel a little better, his heart had certainly calmed and he liked to think his color was slowly returning. As long as she did not ask him about it and he avoided looking out the window again, he was fairly certain he would be just fine.

Jacob gave her a little bow with a flourish as well as wink when Edward said his thanks, hoping that blush would stay on her cheeks for a while after they went their separate ways.

He wasn't sure if Edward was making a show of his height in comparison to Jacob's but he found he didn't mind the arm around him. They were both so far out of their own times that they could be forgiven the physical contact to make sure the other was still real and still close. "In that case, old man," he started with a wide grin. "You had better stick close to me, because the possibility of a chance is much better than having no chance at all."

Bryn took great pride in her bar, but because of all the different changes in the natural shape of the room the cleaning robots didn't do much more than clean the floor. But she didn't mind, it gave her something to do other than drink. Which is all she wanted to do as of late. The vampire was bent forward over one of the four copper baths, cleaning the inside so that it was nice and shiney for the next time it was used, when Sophia walked the two new men in. "I'm sorry to leave you with these two, but I was hoping you could help them better than I can. I just want to march them to medbay and do all the things." The girl explained. The state of her flushed face was telling enough for the older woman.

Bryn chuckled softly, as she stood up straight. "I see. I'll inquire about my nephew and his son later then. You're free to go I will handle these two." The younger woman gave the vampire a smile before leaving final instructions. "This is Captain Edward Kenway, and Sir Jacob Frye. Be sure that Sir Frye gets two full glasses of water before he gets anything strong. It probably wouldn't hurt Captain Kenway either, but I'll let that be your judgement. It was a pleasure gentlemen. Don't forget to come see me after you've settled in." Without waiting for farewell's the blushing young nurse left.

And Bryn was suddenly glad she went with something more modest than her typical cleaning attire. Thought he old worn denim jeans did fit her well, and bore thread bare spots, and the faded out 'black' three quarter sleeved teeshirt, was no dress, she was covered more than her cut off shorts allowed. "I am Brynhild, Bryn to most. Should I ask why you sent one of our nurses scurrying out of here red faced? Or am I better off not knowing?" She asked as she moved behind the bar. Retrieving two tall glasses and filling them both with ice, and water, per instructed.

"Old man?" Edward replied with a light chuckle, mirroring that grin Jacob gave him. "There cannot be that much of a difference between our two ages" he added, the rest of his thought cut off as they reached the bar. He parted ways from the other man and walked inside, looking around. It certainly did seem fancy. Not the sort of bar he was used to but he wouldn't complain. He had his fair share of watered down booze and cheap rum. This looked like a very different sort of drinking establishment.

"Thank you for your aid, Sophia" he said to her as she left. He couldn't help but wonder as to how lucky they were to have bumped into her. Who else might they have met first? What other sorts of people lived on the station? And how many of them could be trusted? Those were lingering thoughts, lost in moments of observation and curiosity.

When Bryn introduced herself, he turned to her and replied, "Might be better off not knowing. I've been told there's good rum to be found here!"

Jacob nearly explained that there were at least a hundred years between them even if there might be less than a handful to look at them, but that died on his tongue as he looked about the place. He wasn't sure what he had been expecting the place to look like, after all he had never been to a pub in the future before, but this was nice even by his usual standards. He wasn't a stickler for decor in the places he drank, but he would be the first to admit that he liked 'nice'.

"No great scandal, I can assure you," he smiled for Bryn, looking her over as much as he was the bar. "The Captain here can be incredibly charming, especially when it comes to fine young ladies. Apparently it is required by his occupation, or at least it is according to all of those novels with dashing sea captains as their heroes. As is his thirst for rum. Isn't that right, Captain?"

He didn't give Edward time to answer and correct him, quickly continuing on as he came to lean his forearms against the bartop. "We were curious about the prices, however. Kind Sophia mentioned that the drinks were gratis, and we were, quite understandably, surprised by that. How does that work? Are we expected to provide a service in exchange?"

The club looked more like something that would have belonged on earth. Polished wood panels lined the walls. The bar itself was of a different kind of wood, darker, harder, with three wooden 'poles' one on each end, and one on the middle. Leather lined stools, with backs, sat before the bar, and if one touched it, it was clear it was finely cared for leather, it was soft and supple. Meant to be stroked. Besides the four copper tubs that lined one wall, with screens should the user be more modest than some, tables for the convenience of having a drink or a smoke and brass racks for the users clothes, clean towels, and bathing gowns for the ones that required them. There were deep comfortable chairs, covered in the same cared for leather as the stools, with tables placed that they would be useful. There were also gaming tables tucked close to the wall opposing the tubs. Snooker, pool, various card tables, a roulette wheel, and one for dice. With room to add should the need grow. But none of the booze, and other luxuries were visible to the eye.

"I do have very fine rum here, but you two are condemned to water as your first drink." Which she placed the filled icy glass in front of Jacob as he leaned on the bar. "And you are condemned to two. I don't go against a Doctor to be's order."

Bryn's emerald gaze shifted to the Captain when Jacob mentioned the drinks were free. "There is no service expected for anything in this bar. Save for one bottle. That bottle has viking ale that has aged twelve hundred years in it. And I do ask for a service, if you are not drinking it with me. That service is usually determined at a future date. Same goes for the top shelf drinks in my other bar, on the third wheel, and top shelf doesn't mean everything below it is crap, I don't water down my drinks unless it is requested." The through the whole speech she did let her eyes travel over the blond man. And she wasn't shy about it either. And at the end her lower lip was captured by her teeth. Before she turned to Jacob.

"Just what kind of services might you two be able to give, just out of curiosity." The pirate smelled good, and you couldn't say that for many of his ilk. But Jacob. Jacob smelled of old London. And while her eyes didn't roam over him like they had with the captain, she did offer him a smile. Because good memories came with that scent.

Edward smiled to himself. He had dealt with far worse in the form of pirates he knew. Pirates that once had a vision of Nassau just as he had. Jacob had a sense of humour, and an interesting one at that, and while Edward was sure he might find it infuriating from time to time, especially the more they got to know one another, he was also oddly charmed by it too.

He turned to walk over to the bar to join Jacob. Upon hearing that they would have to drink water first, the pirate scoffed and shook his head. She sounded a little bit like Caroline. She never much liked when he came home drunk and when she cared enough, she tried to get him to drink water more often. It wasn't very often he followed those instructions. Maybe when they were first married. That was all behind him.

"Aye aye, Captain..." Edward replied with a cheeky smile. Edward had to stop and think about her question. What services could they provide on a futuristic space station? He was well versed and educated as a sailor, and a captain. A pirate. He was a decent acrobat and climber, a very good assassin. Nothing really he could offer a fine looking woman or her drinking establishment.
"I suppose that depends on what you might need" he replied simply. "I am unsure as to which of our talents would still be needed in this strange time and place. Should you need to know how to sail a ship or tie a knot, to clean a flintlock or sing a sailing tune, I might have something to offer, but I do not know what you are in need of"

Jacob hadn't missed the way she'd looked at Edward. He supposed he could understand the appeal. Pirates were supposed to be dashing and charming and all that, something he was sure Edward was and likely would be more of once he got his sea legs. Or space legs, as it were. There was a lot to adjust to and it was clear enough to him that they were both off their usual strides. She was obviously keen on the look of him, perhaps there was another way for Jacob to get a little more for free if he pushed his predecessor in her direction.

"We are particularly good at problem-solving. Though I am guessing in Kenway's case, we've only just met but he has a reputation for getting all sorts of things taken care of." He said, looking between them with brows raised before taking the water she poured for him. He wasn't going to complain, he was feeling more than a little dry after the night before in any case. Of course, he hadn't been prepared for the taste of the water when he raised the glass to his lips. It was completely different from London water, and after downing half the glass he lifted it to inspect it through the glass. It and the ice seemed as clear as the glass it was served in. It was apparent to him that the future wasn't nearly as bad as it could be.

"Though if you want him to sing a shanty in your very fine establishment I would gladly pay to see that." He teased a little.

Had she been drooling? Bryn chuckled softly at the veiled hint. "Unfortunately I do know how to sail a ship and tie knots. And I prefer swords to pistols any day, they're much more reliable. But I may be with Jacob here, I might need a shanty sang." Or an itch scratched, but he hadn't offered that.

She lined up a second glass of water for Jacob, Sophia had made that specific request for a reason, she didn't have to know why. But she did step back, once it was sitting and waiting for him to finish the first one. She touched one of the wood panels behind the bar, causing it to open with a click. Inside were bottle after bottle of different kinds of spirits. She fetched a dark brown rum and set the whole bottle in front of Edward. "For a down payment for a sea shanty. Let me know if it suits your tastes."

Moving to stand in front of Jacob, she leaned down and whispered. "Had I been drooling a little?"

Edward would have happily started flirting with Bryn had he not been so taken aback by everything. The sudden change of scenery, the technology, the people, and the unknown. So much change. It was a lot to get used to. He had been thrown far into the future, into another place in the stars of all places! He hoped the booze would loosen him up a bit. Clear his head and allow him to either accept or ignore everything, but it was difficult.

Edward reached for the bottle and thought of the songs that were sang on board his ship. They were a musical crew, and the songs made the work smooth and easy. They sailed that ship as a family. Their nation was the Jackdaw and for a time, no laws men had mattered to him and his crew. For a time...

Edward wasn't as good a singer as the man who led the songs aboard his ship but he made a good go of it.
"Now we are ready to sail for the Horn, Weigh hey, roll and go! Our boots and our clothes, boys, are all in the pawn, To be rollicking randy dandy-O!
Heave a pawl, O heave away! Weigh hey, roll and go! The anchor's on board and the cable's all stored, To be rollicking randy dandy-O!" he paused to uncork the bottle, taking a drink. As a sign of approval, he held the bottle up as if toasting, before he continued his song.
"Soon we'll be warping her out through the locks, Weigh hey, roll and go! Where the pretty young girls all come down in their frocks, To be rollicking randy dandy-O! Heave a pawl, O heave away! Weigh hey, roll and go! The anchor's on board and the cable's all stored, To be rollicking randy dandy-O! Come breast the bars, bullies, heave her away, Weigh hey, roll and go! Soon we'll be rolling her down through the Bay, To be rollicking randy dandy-O!"

Jacob wasn't going to interrupt Edward's singing for anything in the world, though he did not so subtly pull a handkerchief from a waistcoat pocket and made a show of offering it up to Bryn before smirking and putting it back. She absolutely was drooling but Jacob found it sweet in a way. It seemed to him like a lack of guile and he was certain the pirate had to appreciate that. Jacob appreciated that, London had been a series of friendships, partnerships and romances that had started off all charm and flirtation, the majority ended with him being betrayed in some way. It didn't dampen his outlook as he largely refused to learn from those mistakes, but he was fairly certain life was like that for all assassins.

Once Edward was finished he softly but respectfully clapped, "That was grand, mate. Undoubtedly worth more than just one bottle, don't you think, oh wise and fair landlady."

By the gods. She only just noticed the handkerchief, and fortunately also noticed her mouth slightly ajar, enough to shut it with a bit of a click of her teeth. She wasn't completely guileless, but she wasn't shy about what she liked. Shooting the darker haired man a grin. By the time the shanty was done she was gently fanning herself with her hand.

"My dear boy I think he just paid for your drinks too. For the foreseeable future. What will you have? And if she asks you emptied your water glass and the Captain's too." The 'she' being Sophia. Bryn blew out a breath, and was half tempted to dump a glass of cold water over herself. "And will you have ice? Or 'rocks'?" Did they use cold stones when he came from?

She shifted from the bar back to the cabinet that housed the bottles. All the labels faced outward. And there might have been an abundance of aged Gin.

Edward offered Jacob a smile and raised his bottle to him before taking another drink. It wasn't quite like the rum he was used to. It was smoother. Richer. It tasted like it was worth more gold than he was used to paying out for his booze. The sort of drink he'd find sipped by fanciful types with money, land and slaves.

"Here's to Brynhild and her wisdom" he smirked, winking at her, before taking another drink. Edward didn't tend to get drunk all that easily but he felt it going to his head fairly quickly. Maybe it was the shock of arriving on the station or maybe the rum was more potent, he wasn't sure which was true, or both.

"Is it a normal custom for taverns to have no music? No dancers or singers, no one to play a fanciful, merry tune" he asked. "This place is not filled with drunkards playing games, or pretty ladies offering their company. It feels strange to me" he commented, knocking back more of the booze.

Jacob drew an X over his heart, promising to tell Sophia what she wanted to hear next he saw her.

"We're probably in the middle of off-hours, Eddie." He suggested, not sure where 'Eddie' had come from. Edward was sure to dislike it though and that was half the fun of it. His eyes practically danced over the bottles as he continued. "A place as nice as this, run by someone so fine to look at and so agreeable, during busy hours I bet she is overwhelmed with admirers splashing their cash for a bit of her attention and a good drink. Though if you're already looking for a job, perhaps you should come out and say it. That you'd be happy to sing for her as long as she paid you in rum."

Eventually, he returned his eyes and smile back to Bryn, "Just a pint of bitter, love. We can save something more exotic for when I get a bit more accustomed to the future."

"Unfortunately, that is not the case. There isn't enough people to serve all that I'd like here. I do have music available, but it isn't live. And as women that offer company it is only me and Jessica that can fill that quota. And Bucky for those who have taste for something.. else." Bryn closed the cabinet that held the harder liquors, and opened one beneath. Which held cold storage. She snagged a bottle and opened it. "Unfortunately I don't have any pint glasses in here, but I will put them on my list of things to add. That said is there anything else you would like to see in here? Besides more women, of course." She addressed them both.

But her eyes cut to Edward. Oh, she would certainly pay him in something if he came in here to sing. There was the empty stage that had yet to be used. "This is still a work in progress. It is put together enough that people may come and enjoy themselves, but she doesn't even have a name yet."

Edward wasn't sure where "Eddie" had come from either. He didn't tend to get nicknames or pet names. People mostly called him Captain, or Kenway, and it was usually shouted across a room. If it wasn't that it was "Pirate!". He wasn't entirely sure he was fond of the shortened version of his name or not, and rather than comment, smiled to himself and took a drink of rum.

"Aye, she is a fair sight to look upon, isn't she?" Edward agreed, placing the bottle down. "You are a very fair lass, indeed" he added, feeling himself loosen up a bit more with each drink of rum. "But fair or not, I believe that a life of singing and performing is not for the likes of me. I shall just have to find another way to repay your kindness" he said with a nod of his head, raising his bottle before he took another drink.

How could music be played without it being live? That made no sense to Edward. There was no such thing as recorded music in his time. He didn't even think it would be possible. This strange future was baffling to the out-of-time pirate.
"Names can be tricky things. You will know when you have the right now" he said to Bryn with smile and a nod.

"I think our dear pirate friend is shy, that's alright, Edward. We'll find another way." Jacob smirked to himself glancing between them as he took the opened bottle, though the small lifting of his eyebrows might have suggested that he believed Edward was considering another form of payment for his booze in the future. Maybe one that would require more of his skin. Who was to say? Certainly not Jacob. He would never encourage that sort of exchange, he was a good and proper gentleman with no understanding of any sort of lecherous activity.

No, the young lady he had been courting wasn't with child. The very idea that Jacob could take part in something so morally out of line was frankly unthinkable.

"The Captain and I have had tremendous luck in naming things after birds." He said after a drink from the bottle, appreciating the familiar but somehow different taste of the beer. "Specifically members of the crow family, strangely enough." He tilted his head and looked to Edward again, the realization of their similarity only just hitting him. "Not eagles. Rooks and jackdaws. It should have been eagles though, should it not?"

"All jokes aside, if the bottle has a printed label on it," She stepped forward and tapped the one on Jacob's bottle, Edwards had one too. "You owe me nothing. The only reason why the ones without labels do, is because they are rare, and very hard to find in this day and age. Some damn near impossible because I have all there is. You owe me nothing, for what you are drinking now. But I am very appreciative of the song, Captain." Bryn didn't want him to feel like he was prostituting himself out for drinks. Whole bottles or not. "We help each other out here, and I can ask no more than that." Did she want to see Edward naked? Oh, very much. But she was also aware of her habits, and they had not been exactly stellar for the past month or so. Some encounters she didn't remember at all. And she needed to stop using them to put off other things. But a little flirting never hurt anyone.

Bryn glanced between the Captain and Jacob, after he shared that little tidbit. "Eagles are majestic creatures, to be true. But crows are very intelligent. If you are kind to one, it can remember you for the rest of its life. But the same goes if you are cruel to one. And they have friends." She was finding she liked these newcomers already.

"All that said, have you two found a place to lay your heads? Or were you brought straight here? Because as much as I like you already, you should not be sleeping in here. The chairs, though comfortable, would not make good beds. Neither would the tubs."

Edward hadn't really been considering whoring himself out for booze. He'd pickpocket before he did that. At least there was no need to do either. At least he was grateful for the free booze and he had shared a song? He was also grateful for the company. In finding a new friend in Jacob, and meeting people along the way. Helpful folks who had all done their best to try and help out in any way they could. Edward was unaccustomed to meeting so many friendly, helpful people that weren't quite ready to stick the knife in for a bit of leverage. Then again, Edward had done the same and worse. He had been making up for his wrongs before arriving on the station.

"Do we?" he said, looking at Jacob with some surprise. It was an interesting thought. How much had his life influenced the assassins after he had died? And did the name of the Jackdaw live on in infamy or had it gained another reputation?

"We have yet to find a place to stay" Edward admitted. They certainly had their priorities, even if they were unhealthy but they could have both used a drink to calm their nerves after being jolted forward in time. Edward wasn't even sure if he would ever be able to return home. If he would ever be able to return to Caroline with the riches he had promised her.
