06:59 pm [perletwo] [Link]	Uncanny X-Men #183 - 'and they called it puppy love' neuhallidae requested Peter and Kitty's post-Secret Wars breakup. Because it features lovely, lovely John Romita Jr. art in nice quiet scenes, I decided to seek it out. 5 and 2/3 pages from a 22-page story in Uncanny X-Men #183, not my scans. 06:14 pm [volksjager] [Link]	twisted X-men story I fiest thought to use the Storm part in the beginning for a perfect moment for storm gig ( she was always getting Nek'id back in the day ) But flipping through it I had forgotten how spooky and twisted this issue was. Very offbeat for this x-men period. 09:52 pm [icon_uk] [Link]	Why Doug Ramsey Was Awesome Pt 2 Since proteus_lives is planning to post NM Annual #2 as part of his Cypher posts before too long, I'd better pre-emptively post NM Annual #1, because of it's particular relevance to Doug! :) When last we left Doug Ramsey, he'd just been woken up in the middle of the night by Cannonball flying in through his bedroom window to be told that he was a mutant, and taken to the X-Mansion to help the New Mutants establish meaningful dialogue with a disoriented and dangerous Warlock, which he did, which is impressive. 01:59 am [proteus_lives] [Link]	The Death of Doug Ramsey Greetings True Believers! I saw several New X-Men posts and it got me thinking about the original crew of muties, The New Mutants. Aside from a few holes, I own pretty much all of the original 100 issue run of NM. To this day it's one of my favorite comic series. Serious, funny, heart-breaking, great characters. In an era where the phrase "Protecting a world that fears and hates them." really meant something. New Mutants was Buffy before Buffy. Outcasts, nerds, jocks, pagans, farmboys, casanovas, mean teachers, evil adults, the agonies of growing up. All while being mutants who occasionally have to save the world and live up to the mantles of those who came before them. This post is from the TPB, Fall of the Mutants. An X-Crossover (Back when crossovers were still a new/clever idea.) It concerns the death of one of the New Mutants. A boy named Doug Ramsey. His code name was Cypher and his power was Omnilingualism, meaning he could translate any language spoken, written or on a computer. Weird huh? His death was controversial. He was apparently one of those character you either loved or hated. (He's also one of the few MU characters that has never returned from the dead. So his death still has some impact.)
