twisted X-men story
I fiest thought to use the Storm part in the beginning for a perfect moment for storm gig ( she was always getting Nek'id back in the day ) But flipping through it I had forgotten how spooky and twisted this issue was. Very offbeat for this x-men period.

I think the boys are just a little uncomfortable with Storm dropping kit.

This is the kind of story you read Halloween night to x-kids. It really puts the hbook into them.

Its very un-nerving that , not only iis Nightcrawler done as evil he is also a pedophile(ish). I wonder he has never shown up in Exiles?

also I guess some people are keeping track, this is a junteanah post :)

Wow, does THIS take me back.

This is my VERY first comic that I bought with my own hard earned money, and I was disappointed the "pointy haired" hat guy was not Batman. (When did Batman grow claws, Dad?)

And I thought Colossus was supes and they were fighting on Wonder woman's island with one of her African helpers. What did I know, i was 6.

This, turns out, was an awesome story and my first experience with comic book tragedy. The heroes didn't always win the day. When little snowflake became something else.

Illyana's / Magick's adventures in the New X-men were good, I have yet to read the New Mutants stuff, though.

Can I get a motto from anyone who thinks something dodgy looking about that outter-cut panel.

Or is it just me?

the panel outside the cut. My first thought when seeing it was 'hmmm she can probably tell us what kind of underwear he has on.' Followed by 'I wonder if someone can photoshop this to make it look as if her head is up his robe?'

But, like I said, it most likely just me :(

It's not just you. It's blatant. It doesn't even need to be photoshopped, imo. It's already there.

S'ym?

As in Dave Cerebus Sim?

S'ym the semi-aardvark-like, cigar smoking, waistcoat-wearing demon, was a long running supporting character in the X-Men, and particularly the New Mutants.

He was first Belasco's and then Illyana's chief demon enforcer in Limbo before seeking to supplant Ilyanna, thanks to Warlock's father, the Magus, infecting him with transmode virus, making him and his kind more powerful than ever.

And yes, the name is an homage to Dave Sim.

this made me remember this:

" In the futuristic Universe X maxi-series by Jim Krueger and Alex Ross, it is revealed that Belasco is actually one and the same with his enemy Nightcrawler of the X-Men, who had become amnesiac and was displaced in time. "

and now I can't stop laughing.

The X-books' use of Belasco was fun, but his first appearance in Ka-Zar the Savage -- man, that was a stunning comic.

Any chance of posting it? There's always room for Ka-Zar.

Not from me, I'm afraid. If I even have it, it's off in storage somewhere.

So I guess that Belasco has ALWAYS been one-armed, then - I was under the impression that this was relatively recent.
It's a nice touch that Wolvie is genuinely shaken by the apparent death of his friend - the way he's sometimes written, I half expected him to roll his eyes and mutter 'shake it off, ya pansy'.

Beats me - I don't really know that much about Belasco. I thought the no-arm thing was due to some loss he'd suffered fighting against the X-Men or someone in a comic I hadn't read.
