Either this is snark-"appearances are deceiving-Mags is mass-murderer!" or "Look at both their tortured histories, neither man has the moral high ground." or "Wolvie is a dick!"

Or

This a great job of selective editing/posting. I mean I could post a scan of Logan having tea with Katie Power.

P.S.
I like this post, you take it so many ways. ;)

An older trade, X-Men Visionaries: Jim Lee.

Comarade Colonel Yuri Vassilyavitch (Now that's Russian!)

His son Dimitri was a Lt. on the submarine Leningrad. (The sub Mags sank in the other story we were posting.)

I actually like this post as well. It brings to light the varied depictions of Magnus... or Erik... or whatever over the last few decades.

I for one where a "Magneto Was Right" tshirt. Not the crazed Xorneto since he went way too far but most of the time I can see where the Camp Survivour is coming from. Whether thats identification, pity, or right to power, or just pure desire to see the whole thing rethunk from the ground up I'll leave to others.

I love that that had to be clarified.

Wolverine looks so sad in the second scan.

I deem as slash worthy. (no pun intended)

BELLS! BELLS! BELLS! BELLS!

Err, anyway.

I prefer Magsy as an extreme but still not quite *crazy* guy. If the choice was between humanity and mutantkind he'd kill of humanity without a thought. But he'd prefer not to have to do that if at all possible.

I know we're talking Hunchback, but for some reason "Bells" just makes me imagine Magneto singing "I can see the bells" from Hairspray.

Complicated character.

Anybody got anything similar on Wolverine?

Having Mags as a good guy was never going to stick, anyway. The X-Men need a killer, A-List villain, and none of the others quite match up, in terms of renown or their level of power. Therefore, you have something like Eve of Destruction, whereby Mags goes ridiculously over-the-top in making his point and being a nasty bastard to Charles (and his treatment of the Professor here is probably only slightly less worse than the bullshit we got in the Ultimate Universe)...

On another note, whatever happened to Lenil Francis Yu? He used to be this good, Eve of Destruction and his earlier revamping of some of the X-Costumes were stellar. As soon as he did Superman: Birthright, though, everything went down the pan.

That was a great line.

It's funny, that with that attitude, that she never gave Emma the same chance.

Did they ever really interact after she reformed before Astonishing X-Men?

Not to any degree, I don't think. Kitty was off in Excalibur, Emma in Gen X. I think they may have encountered one another when Kitty rejoined the X-men, but I don't think they were central to any of the big crossovers of the times in the same locations. I'm sure they must have met once or twice, but I don't recall when.
