Pictures for Sad Children - how to write an arc
After Schmevil posted the latest PFSC, and there was a discussion in the comments about one-shots versus continued arcs, I felt the need to post this: one of my favourite arcs.

Digger: Most embarrassing origin in the entire history of comics.
So, someone recommended Digger a few days back. I'm glad they did, despite my ensuing lack of sleep. It's witty, cute, and has spectacular art.

http://asylums.insanejournal.com/scans_daily/545358.html

It also has a character with what may be the most humiliating origin story ever. EVER. Thought I'd share that as an incentive for you to go read the comic.

Peter Parker's got nothing on this. (19 pages out of...over 700.) )

Durkon's Terrible, Very-Bad, No-Good Day
Rich Burlew's "Order of the Stick" is an epic fantasy webcomic populated entirely by stick figures. Better than it sounds. There are two black-and-white prequel books containing stories never told--the first contains the stories of the heroes before they met each other; the second, the story of the villains before the comic began.

This image is from the former.

(Note: this is my first time posting something here, so, feedback appreciated.)

Pimp Post: Digger
Digger is only sort of a webcomic, in the sense that the entire series can be read online, and a new page is released every Tuesday and Thursday. But you can also buy paperback volumes of it.

Digger is a sentient wombat. Wombats, as Vernon sees them, are work-oriented, down-to-earth creatures with no use for magic or gods, as such things tend to complicate building secure tunnels. This doesn't protect Digger herself from becoming embroiled with the god Ganesh, a mad teenage priestess, an oracular slug, a baby demon, and a tribe of sentient hyenas. And more.

Digger herself is deeply charming. She's slow to anger, even befriending people who originally tried to eat her with no grudge held, but when something does make her mad, watch out. With no fuss or dramatics, she does her duty. When a magician is telling her what happened to his last apprentice, he asks, "If I gave you a box and told you that it must never be opened, what would you do?" She immediately starts talking about how to encase it in steel and concrete, not even thinking of the temptation members of less pragmatic species (like, you know, humans) feel at such a command.

The story has a great deal of humor, especially based on the bizarre magics and circumstances that intertwine, but it's also an epic adventure, and a fascinating twisty plot.

In sum, this is a really good comic, and all of you should go read it. It was nominated for an Eisner and you have hundreds of pages of it to enjoy. Under the cut is a scan from it for legality and tantalization.

And here is the link to the comic!

Tempus Fugit: A Comic for Geeks
Alright Everyone this is my first post so be kind with the mistake unless I should correct them soon
I made an online comic comic and I thought you guys might be interested
Well the comic is in it's early issues but here what you can expect: time travel, giant roaches,Bird like aliens, agatha christie, immortals, super powers,a terribly sung musical number sung while giant robots attack (oddly enough the song will not be Mister Roboto), explosion and trench coats. Also a great many geek refrences, especially star wars refrences.

Larger Version
I thought it was a good preview picture because it has a giant roach chasing two guys plus comig from the writer/artist the roach came out good
I know the picture usually goes after a a link but i'm still working on that
If your interested on the other pages check them out:

Some perfect moments; Fans!
One of my favorite webcomics right now is Fans!(the exclamation point is part of the spelling) by T. Campbell and Jason Waltrip.  The title involves the Billberg Science Fiction Club, a SF club/RPG community that finds itself dealing with terrorists, alien invaders, shadowy criminal conspiracies, mad scientists and other assorted threats.  The theme is that humanity's greatest asset is its ability to imagine and dream, and that in an increasingly weird world, it's the weird who will rise to the occasion to save us.  You can read it here; www.faans.com. Be warned; there's close to two thousand pages of material thus far.  You thought Girl Genius was a great way to waste time(which it is), wait'll you get a load of Fans!  Plus T. Campbell likes to play with formats; some pages are extra long or extra wide, some stories are done by guest artists with their own unique styles, he occasionally plays with GIFs, and one story even features original MP3 files(his homage to the Buffy musical, I think).

I'm choosing a couple of favorite moments from the series.  Not dial-up friendly.
