Coding Challenge Rules
CODING CHALLENGE RULES & GUIDELINES
The RP Resources monthly coding challenges are just for fun, but there are a few rules you need to follow! Read on for our challenge guidelines and how this works.■ You must use your own coding, of course. Code theft is not permitted in this comm.
■ Previously posted codes are not eligible for entry.
■ Your entries must fit the theme and code type.
HOW IT WORKS
On the first of every month we'll post a coding challenge with a theme and a code type (ex. Theme: Orange, Code Type: Biosheet.) You have the entire month to complete the challenge and post it to the community with the normal tags, plus code challenge: code. You may make as many entries as you like as long as they're submitted to the community before the first of the following month.Every other month we will hold layout challenges in addition to our normal coding challenges.
These are just for fun but, to encourage participation, every six months we will hold community-wide voting on each maker's last six entries (or less, if you haven't participated in all of the past six months' challenges.) Voting should be based on each maker's output as a whole, so makers who have participated in more challenges will have more work to be judged on.
The winner* will receive an IJ coupon for the journal of their choice. The amount the coupon is worth will vary depending on how much we can afford to spend, so make sure to enter challenges if you like free coupons!
*Mods are exempt from prizes and, should a moderator win a voting round, they will forfeit their prize to second place.
