“Oi!” Rabbit called out, spotting a man that looked more like himself than he did in the distance. Except better dressed, of course, since Atticus actually had to look presentable at work. “I think not,” he added loudly, gesturing to his own head. His brother yelled out something that wasn’t quite audible before taking the bandana off his head, flipping off Rabbit only to wave cheerfully at him a second later. Both gestures were returned.

“It’s gonna rain,” he said vaguely, pointing up at the sky as he sat down next to Nicolas by their tree, his mouth muffling the words as he buried his teeth into an apple halfway through the sentence. “They fixed the charms here though, right? No more leaks?” Last time he had sat outside during the rain, he had still gotten soaked despite the weather-barrier. It wasn’t pleasant, considering that he had gone to work in the freezer-room shortly after.

“I’ve got a lovely little cheeseburger, bah-dah-dah,” Rabbit sang from under the tree, pointing his fingers in rhythm at a woman from somewhere on the fourth floor. “With lots of delicious cheese and ketchup, bah. Bah. Bah. Lookie, lookie, it’s got a sesame seed bun!”

The woman snorted and, her lunch finished, stood up to leave, but not without a very pointed, “I think they’re drugging everyone in Mysteries again.”

“They do it every Wednesday, love!” He answered before taking a bite out of the burger.

After a few seconds he spotted Nicolas coming through the doors and continued, “Vaisey! I’ve been bored as a bedresting granny waiting for you. Was the lift broken again?”

Who: Nicolas and Astoria
What: Mama Slytherhen is checking up on one of her boys
When: Sunday night BACKDATED so as not to interfere with possible lovebird reunions
Where: Vaisey Manor
Rating: Maybe PG for discussion of people's love lives (his, because she has none)
Status: Closed; incomplete

Astoria and Nicolas had arranged to have dinner, which conveniently kept Astoria from another OWLS event where she could be expected to run across the increasingly creepy Archibald MacFusty. She'd gotten to the point where she'd take almost any excuse to avoid the Literary Society, but dinner with Nicolas was more akin to a treat than an excuse.

Now they were finishing up a fine dessert whipped up by one of Nicolas' house elves and talking of not much in particular, and definitely not the mugging on Thursday night. "So I've not seen Blaise lately, and Draco and I were more interested in talking about all the excitement with Potter the last time we dined. I'm hoping no news from that quarter means all has resolved itself and you're all three happy again."

When: June 29, 2008; evening
Where: Anthony's house

Nicolas tucked his hair behind his ears, smoothing out his shirt and glancing in the mirror one last time. He could not remember the last time a bloke had made him this conscious about his appearance since it had been a good deal of time since his last bit of dating. It just seemed every time before he saw Anthony he needed to change his shirt and the robes he was wearing before coming over and needed to come out his hair to ensure it looked well. Satisfied with his appearance, he slipped into the floo and announced the address his lips were quickly growing used to.

"Hello?" He called softly, stepping out and smiling already.

Who: Rabbit Tuor and Nicolas Vaisey
What: Lunch!
When: Friday afternoon, backdated since he's gone for a week while chasing lightning but I still wanted to throw him at people.
Where: Ministry of Magic, an outdoor atrium on the first floor.
Status: Open, incomplete

Rabbit stood out in the cafeteria like a pedophile in a nursery school, a beam of light in the dark, a giant in a crowd of midgets. Because as normal as he was under all that blood, it was the blood that people noticed and kept their eyes on him like he was about to attack or keel over. Or both. But he didn't feel it was necessary to clean himself off before lunch, although he did at least wash his hands, and now he looked like a victim of a chainsaw massacre. And a bit like a raccoon thanks to the clean rings around his eyes from where his goggles had protected him from blood spurts.

He was courteous enough to leave the cafeteria once he had his food, well aware of how sensitive some people were to blood. Instead, he headed toward the outdoor atrium, an area much less populated but without any real seating available. With the choice between the grass and the small wall of a flower bed as a chair he chose the former, settling himself under the shade of a large tree with his tray and copy of the morning's Prophet. The comic section - it was his break after all.

Who: Anthony Goldstein and Nicholas Vaisey
What: Dinner and conversation.
Where: Anthony's house, Brighton
When: Evening, Thursday, June 19th
Rating: TBA
Status: Closed; Incomplete

It'd been an incredibly long and busy day. Besides the usual work and afternoon run, Anthony had packed for his weekend trip, plotted out his portkey route through Europe, and picked up the food for dinner. He sighed as he laid down on the couch to wait for Nicholas. Visiting his parents was always stressful. They'd most likely planned out a million different activities and had about a hundred different people he'd have to meet. Merely thinking about it made Anthony even more exhausted and before he knew it he was fast asleep.

The house didn't really look like it was ready for a party but Anthony preferred to keep things subdued. The windows were thrown open, letting in the warm night air and letting out the faint sounds of music playing on the downstairs stereo. The kitchen was fully stocked with finger food, liquor, mixers, and ice. Anthony sat in the living room awaiting his guests. He'd already had his run and showered so there was little else to do but wait.

What: Some baseball on the telly

Nicolas felt he was more overdressed than necessary, but his closet did not have much by the way of what most considered casual. All dress robes and suits. As it were, he had selected a pair of dark blue trousers with a button-up shirt in a bit of a lighter shade. His hair was swept back, tucked behind one ear and his shoes were shined from polishing spells.

Under one arm, he held an elegantly wrapped package, seeming a bit heavy and rather thick. In the crook of the other was a magical money tree, actually luck charms placed on it, though the strength varied by plant and the luck only seemed to revolve around the home.

Stepping into the floo, he called out Anthony's address, landing without a stumble in the man's fireplace.

"Hello?"

Who: Open to all Witches and Wizards
What: A garden party celebrating post-Mathwall times and trying to unite everyone
When: Friday the 30th of May, 2008, 11:30 a.m. until rather late
Where: Vaisey Manor and Estate
Rating: TBD
Status: Open; incomplete

Vaisey Manor and Estate was flourishing in life. Tall trees dotted the lawn, there was a rich walled in garden with a maze beyond, and an open field off to one side clear to the night sky. The house itself was fitting of its surroundings--old brick and dark woods that could have given it an almost sinister appearance if not for the bright lights shining in almost every window.

The rich, plush furniture that normally adorned Vaisey Manor was now transfigured and stored out of the way, upstairs. Wards were put around the upstairs to keep guests out, and only close friends and those accompanying said friends would find a break from the party up there. Wards had also been places in and around the house--anti-theft measures and safety precautions. After Mathwall, nothing seemed too extreme and so he had a number of experts come in and make sure to provide wards that would stay solidly in place. If anything were to happen, the entire house could be locked down if necessary.

Every room, as well as the expansive grounds, were filled with white chairs around round tables covered in sand-coloured silken fabric. In the middle was a single tower sandcastle, a little window carved through it, and an intricate design of summer flowers etches up the sides. Gradually, the etches flowers flowed into the real flowers that separated the base from the tablecloth, almost giving the appearance of it being one whole piece. The flowers were mixes of bright oranges and yellows, purples and pinks, Asiatic lilies and Dutch tulips, irises and chrysanthemums.

Royal lilies, sunflowers, Gerbera daisies, gladiolus, Dendrobium orchids, and hibiscus flowers in similar bright shades seemed to be everywhere--filling tall vases inside, covering lattice work and bushes outside, in garlands in trees. Everything seemed to be about the summer and joy and the richness of life.

Trays floated through the crowds due to house elf magic, providing an offering of finger sandwiches, appetizers, and champagne as well as red and white wines. Whenever a tray emptied, it would quickly be refilled, any dirty dishes left behind would instantly disappear, and messes were gone so quickly it was almost as though they never happened.

Who: Astoria and OPEN
What: Window shopping on the lunch hour
When: Lunchtime, Tuesday, 29 April
Where: Diagon Alley
Status: Open, incomplete

It was drizzling in Diagon Alley by the time Astoria was able to get loose for lunch. Her cloak was Imperviused and she drew it tight around her against the rain and the slight chill of the day, which was unusually cold for this time of year. She was on her way to one of the little tea rooms to enjoy the luxury of a lunch out by herself, away from the demands of the office and Skeeter and her editor.

On her way down the alley, she found herself looking in the windows of the various shops: admiring the cut of a robe at Madam Malkin's, looking longingly at the books being sold at Flourish & Blott's (one day hers would be there!), and eyeballing the wares at the new, improved, post-war Wheezes with proper Slytherin suspicion of practical jokes. The pygmy puffskeins did look amazingly cute, though. Chris was dead-set against Andi having any such thing, but maybe if Auntie Ria had one, she could occasionally bring it to visit. She was so preoccupied by the creatures in the window that she didn't notice that she was was blocking the bit of sidewalk under the eaves where people could walk out of the rain.
