Bring them to me...(Harry, Murphy, Cally)

The woman paced slowly back and forth as yet another group of chosen were waiting in the quarantined cells. She liked that more were passing over, and even more were coming to her city. She had heard rumors of what was happening in New Troy; that old man thought he had a right to do such things to the ones who would get them out of the delimna. Then again, the woman wasn't exactly innocent when it came to the chosen ones. She wasn't happy that she knew exactly where one of her recent acquisitions was now fighting in that man's arenas. It didn't help that the man who'd shown up with her was off doing whatever his kind did, hunting?

"Bring them to me." Belia nodded slightly to some of her men who went to collect the newcomers. She settled in her usual seat to wait. Her hands clasped before her; she looked like a ruler, the ruler. Her jaw was set. These people would stay this time. She would not let them go like the others had. She would not lose them to the Wilds or to New Troy.

"Bring water." She motioned for glasses and fresh water to be brought. She knew that the quarantined chosen would be fed, but she wanted them to feel refreshed. "Make sure their rooms are prepared."

Driving Miss Murphy (Harry)

There never really was such a thing as a quiet weekend, Murphy thought to herself. There was yet another wannabe practicioner stalking and killing people. Just another week with SI. The hours were terrible and the coffee was stale, but at least she had the side perk of riding around in the tin can on wheels that Harry called a car.

Not that she'd have it any other way, she thought to herself. Of course, she wasn't going to tell him that. No, their relationship worked better when the mutual appreciation between the two was left unvoiced.

"Turn right here," she directed Harry as the Beetle barreled down one of the streets of Chicago. The street was barely lit by streetlights that weren't all that well kept up.

Before Harry could have made the turn, the streetlights all winked out, and then suddenly there was a bright blazing light. Murphy blinked as her eyes struggled to adjust to the glaring sunlight.

Sunlight? That didn't make any sense.

She looked over at Harry.

"Uh Harry? Did you do something?"
