Hi! I gather that this is where we fling ourselves on the mercy of the fandom gatekeepers, so hola!

I'd heard about QAF off and on or years but never really paid much attention - I'm more of a sci fi and police procedural fan than a soap opera/drama sort of person. But then I came across some clips of 'the Brian/Justin Story' on youtube in January while I was looking for something else, and I got sucked in. Boyyyyy howdy did I ever.

So I mainlined all five seasons in about three weeks, had bizarre and delicious dreams as a result, and now I'm riding the high of a new obsession. I read through chunks of fanfic (xie is one name that sticks out without going and hunting through my bookmarks, also triciaQAF, because I'm a hound), and have actually been inspired to try my own hand at ficcing for the first time in almost two decades. Good grief, what has this show done to me?

I don't know much about fandom etiquette and protocol - I haven't been involved in anything fannish at all since Usenet and mailman lists were the gold standard - so hopefully I haven't stepped on any toes. Do I need to do an about!me? Hetero-married bi-dyke in my 30s, working in academia. Is that enough?
