I'm not sure what to say about this one. I like it. It doesn't make me sad, or make me squee, but for some reason, it just works for me.

Mad World Vid
I've just spent the last hour in Brian and Justin youtube fanvid land. *sniffles* And am thoroughly consumed by TEH LOVE now.

But alas, my efforts to find a good B/J vid set to Whaddaya Want From Me has failed. Surely some glamnation/qaf fangirl out there knows of one? Or perhaps a good one set to another Adam Lambert Song?

I did however find this:

Its not the Adam Lambert version its the one i like better, don't hit me, but its brilliant nonetheless. *wipes away tears* It is by Jessbollywood on YouTube.

Fandom needs our help!
Our Fearless Leader, [info]happier_bunny asked me to pimp this around. Sorry for the spammage about to happen!

I made a post yesterday over at Get It Here on behalf of one of the archivists of Across The Pond. ATP needs our help. Here's the post:

Just an FYI.

Okay fellow Queer As Folk fans ... UK Qaf, US Qaf, or both!!! ALL
PAIRING PREFERENCES!!!!

If you want to keep the ATP Archive up and running - please read this
information.

Some of you may know I am an archivist at the Across The Pond QAF
Fiction Archive. It's been many years of hard work, but not a little
pairing drama...lol (just teasing) - but through it all, there has
always been one place that served as an archive for all pairing
choices and all versions of the show "Queer As Folk".

Now we all have our own pairing favs, and in some cases, we may also
have our pairing specific archives. But all of us know that there is
value in diversity, and having a wider selection can yield many
rewards.

And now, in the spirit of hope, I'm asking for your help to keep the
archive alive. Please read the information below, and know that
ANYTHING you can give is greatly appreciated.

Since our last donation drive in 2006, our failsafe backer(s) have
quietly slipped out of the fandom, and the Archive has literally been
surviving on air for almost a year thanks solely to the generosity of
our host provider. But they can no longer let things stand as they
are. This has come as news to me, and I'm sure to many of you. So
your help is needed, and needed now - if possible. In that spirit -
please share this request with your other QAF communities on
LiveJournal, Yahoogroups, etc.

Remember - No action = no result. And in this case, that would mean
the end of ATP.

And the update regarding monetary goals:

The goal for their fundraiser this year is $500

The money will be used for hosting cost, maintenance for the site, and any overages for bandwidth.

Direct PayPal link

The current amount raised is a little over $270.

If you don't want to donate through Paypal I have a physical address that I can PM you.

Thanks so much guys.

Please lend a hand if you can. The Rizabeau addicts are counting on you!

Hi, did you miss us?
Wow, it's been awhile since I've posted here!

In honor of the Third Annual Friending Party at [info]qaf_comingout, I thought I'd rec a few vids, one new, one older, and one classic.

First up, a new vid from our beloved [info]qafmaniac. I emailed her with a bunny that wouldn't leave me alone, and in record time she came up with the porniest vid ever!!!

Disconnected Child

You can watch the vid, and download it from this link.

The second vid is also by [info]qafmaniac, and this one has a history.

She made this hysterically funny vid called Ring Of Joy a couple years ago. And then, this happened. Don't ever think that dreams don't come true. They do!!!! Despite Youtube bahleeting her vids left, right and center. So don't wait, download them today!!!

Finally, one of my favorite videos ever. And how fortuitous, right in time to coincide with the Ensemble Fic Challenge about to post! This video was made by toolunaticsnwon way back in the early days of fandom, and set to the song "Origins Of Love" from the movie Hedwig & The Angry Inch. You can manipulate images to fit any song, really, but sometimes, a song comes along that seems tailor-made for you. This is that song, and it tells the story of our beloved gang better than any I've ever heard.

Download Children Of The Sun here

Enjoy, and stop by to see us sometime!

This vid is just breathtaking. It's pure B/J love, tenderness and angst; and I swear on my laptop - you won't regret watching it.

and there's also

the amazing video RPS by dunyaxa

She mixes up bits of interviews, bloopers and QaF scenes so skillfully, that it almost makes you believe... ))
And the song by Imogen Heap fits perfectly

Pride 2009, week 2
Evening, folks!!!

Last week, I posted a vid bunny over at [info]qaf_bunnies. In it, I mentioned that I thought the song Seasons Of Love from the musical Rent would make a really good Pride video.

The lovely and talented [info]qafmaniac took me up on it.

And what a lovely little tribute to the Pride of the citizens of Liberty Ave, PA it is.

Seasons Of Love

525,600 minutes, 525,000 moments so dear.
525,600 minutes - how do you measure, measure a year?
In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee.
In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife.
In 525,600 minutes - how do you measure a year in the life?
How about love? How about love? How
about love? Measure in love.
Seasons of love.

525,600 minutes! 525,000 journeys to plan.
525,600 minutes - how can you measure the life of a woman or man?

In truths that she
learned,

Or in times that he cried.

In bridges he burned,

Or the way that she died....

It's time now to sing out,
the story never ends let's celebrate remember a year in the life of friends.
How about love!
How about love! How about love!
Measure in love.
Seasons of love! Seasons of love.

Happy Pride, how's it going??
Hello, fellow Repixers!!!

It's that time of year again. Yes, the time of rainbow flags, Dykes On Bikes and pretty people filling The Castro with love and goodwill...

and Pride.

Once a week, I'll be posting a vid that captures that spirit.

Starting off this year is a favorite of mine.

This vid blew me away with its cinematic excellence, lyrical genius, and pureness of spirit.

There's not much I can say that hasn't already been said about this. Last year, I copied what my beloved MIA Bitch, [info]callie89 said about it. This year...I'm gonna do it again.

In my mind there are two kinds of videos. Videos where the vidder puts pretty scenes to the music or videos like Children of the Sun, where you try to tell the story of the song. You follow the lyrics, you understand the story. I adore this video and it never fails to give me chills whenever I watch it. I love the song Origin of Love, the energy and vibe of it. The editing is amazing and the closing shot always, always brings tears to my eyes.

What Callie said.

Lyrics

Origin of Love

When the earth was still flat,
And the clouds made of fire,
And mountains stretched up to the sky,
Sometimes higher,
Folks roamed the earth
Like big rolling kegs.
They had two sets of arms.
They had two sets of legs.
They had two faces peering
Out of one giant head
So they could watch all around them
As they talked; while they read.
And they never knew nothing of love.
It was before the origin of love.

The origin of love

And there were three sexes then,
One that looked like two men
Glued up back to back,
Called the children of the sun.
And similar in shape and girth
Were the children of the earth.
They looked like two girls
Rolled up in one.
And the children of the moon
Were like a fork shoved on a spoon.
They were part sun, part earth
Part daughter, part son.

The origin of love

Now the gods grew quite scared
Of our strength and defiance
And Thor said,
"I'm gonna kill them all
With my hammer,
Like I killed the giants."
And Zeus said, "No,
You better let me
Use my lightening, like scissors,
Like I cut the legs off the whales
And dinosaurs into lizards."
Then he grabbed up some bolts
And he let out a laugh,
Said, "I'll split them right down the middle.
Gonna cut them right up in half."
And then storm clouds gathered above
Into great balls of fire

And then fire shot down
From the sky in bolts
Like shining blades
Of a knife.
And it ripped
Right through the flesh
Of the children of the sun
And the moon
And the earth.
And some Indian god
Sewed the wound up into a hole,
Pulled it round to our belly
To remind us of the price we pay.
And Osiris and the gods of the Nile
Gathered up a big storm
To blow a hurricane,
To scatter us away,
In a flood of wind and rain,
And a sea of tidal waves,
To wash us all away,
And if we don't behave
They'll cut us down again
And we'll be hopping round on one foot
And looking through one eye.

Last time I saw you
We had just split in two.
You were looking at me.
I was looking at you.
You had a way so familiar,
But I could not recognize,
Cause you had blood on your face;
I had blood in my eyes.
But I could swear by your expression
That the pain down in your soul
Was the same as the one down in mine.
That's the pain,
Cuts a straight line
Down through the heart;
We called it love.
So we wrapped our arms around each other,
Trying to shove ourselves back together.
We were making love,
Making love.
It was a cold dark evening,
Such a long time ago,
When by the mighty hand of Jove,
It was the sad story
How we became
Lonely two-legged creatures,
It's the story of
The origin of love.
That's the origin of love.

Please enjoy this gift from Too Lunatics.

I saw a blurb on my flist a few days ago, urging me to check out a picspam over on LJ.
