So this is where the party's at! I just discovered QAF this past October. I decided to check it out after I fell in love with "Brokeback Mountain" in August and saw that quite a few BBM fans also liked QAF.
I am also fairly new to fandom in general. Other than following the work of one group of Buffy the Vampire slayer fans for several years, I never ventured far into fandom before I watched BBM and QAF. In fact, I was totally oblivious to all of the fandom(s) on Livejournal. I find this especially amusing because I actually was pretty active on LJ around 2002, a time when you still needed an invite code to get an account. It was what we hip college students used back in the day before there was myspace or facebook. Obviously a lot has happened since then. It took me a few weeks to figure out that much of the QAF community had migrated over to IJ. I have since learned more about the events in 2007 that prompted that move.
Anyway, there are a number of reasons why I love QAF
