I'm heading back to Eire for a few days. Doing a favor for an old acquaintance of mine. Her name's Molly and she's ... a medium, I guess you could call it. She can see and talk to spirits. On her bad days, she can reach across to the Other Side. She was involved in a bad bit of business a long time ago, a bit of business that I investigated and helped resolve.

Now she's reached out to me to say that she's bein' held against her will. Long story short, I'm meeting up with another old acquaintance of mine and we're gonna bust her out. Might need a guest room for a time.

Don't worry too much about it. This won't splash back on us or the school.

It was lucky for him he had enough money stashed in his backpack for a room for the night. he needed to get off the streets, needed to figure out what the hell he was supposed to do with himself now. Nearly everything was making him pop out a dupe and it was really starting to get to him. He was tired, exhausted really. And every dupe he couldn't reabsorb quick enough before they ran away was linked to him both emotionally and telepathically. ( To say he had a headache would have been a gross understatement at this point )

It was strange to be back at Xavier's. She'd spent almost four years of her life here being the girl that no one could touch, the girl that didn't allow anyone close except her boyfriend. St. John had been the rare exception. To this day she still didn't quite understand the want to have him for a friend back then. Maybe it had been because he was Bobby's friend and thought it was only right he should be hers as well. That hadn't turned out so well. Then there was Logan. it was amusing to think of the crush she'd harbored so long for him. How things had changed.

Kyla hadn't bothered to make herself camouflaged, she wasn't doing anything bad after all so if she was caught she could just admit to her deeds with a smile and a shrug. Agreeing to meet a strange teacher in the danger room for a workout didn't really seem all that peculiar to her. There was no other way to get access and she wanted to test herself against what the school could throw at her. She'd been practicing making swords and maces from her arms in her room, but that wasn't really all that taxing or helpful.

She'd been waiting for hours, sitting up in the belfry of the old abandoned church. Did they ever leave? These rich families, stuffing their pockets with money and filling their houses with things that only took up space and no one ever really needed. Well, X-23 figured it was her job to help these poor rich families reorganize their priorities. Good thing she could wait and watch as long as she needed to. Fucking holidays and family time. How could they stand being in the same house as one another for so long, staring at the same faces, having the same conversations day after day? The girl could sit in one position for hours but patience was something she'd always lacked. ( Cool and calm on the outside, even close to stoic at a glance, but a raging storm of anger and impatience on the inside )

When Kitty contacted Jean-Paul about doing a New Year's masquerade party, she hadn't been expecting her idea would balloon into what she was now witnessing. The gymnasium had been turned into a sort of winter wonderland. The tree had been brought in and was all lit up. Streamers in jeweled tones hung from the ceiling where disco balls spun and threw shards of rainbows everywhere. To one side of the room a sort of buffet table had been set up with every kind of finger food imaginable, as well as some more sensible eating options. There was punch, desserts, fruit, hot water for tea and hot chocolate, and all the paper and plastic good that could be needed. Several circular tables had been set up with chairs surrounding them, all matching the elegant color scheme of the room. The rest of the gym was reserved for the hired DJ and a nice open dance floor. ( Kitty was already excited, and no one else was even there yet. )

There were still a good few people around, really. People who had no family to travel to, or whose family lived too far away...or whose family didn't want them. Vic actually was going home for a bit, he just wasn't leaving until tomorrow since the day didn't really matter to him. He'd finished his packing, had a snowball war with some of the younger kids, eaten way too many Christmas cookies - the best side effect of being surrounded by other peoples' holiday celebrations ever - and generally bummed around. He might not care about Christmas one way or the other as a holiday, but he definitely liked the cookie baking frenzy it inspired in a lot of the people who did.

Now it was dinner time, though, which meant Chinese food and the best holiday movie ever. Fortunately there were few enough others around the place - and most of them currently eating dinner in the dining hall - that confiscating the rec room television wasn't really a problem. Vic popped the case open and slipped Zombieland into the dvd player before grabbing the remote - not with his tongue, since people got all irrationally skeeved by that - and flopping down on the sofa with his Dr. Pepper to wait for Mr. Beaubier and the food to show.

Another time and place she would be spending these last few days at the mall with friends, trying to buy last minute presents and just enjoying people-watching. She was never one to gossip much, but she did like watching the crowds and seeing how people interacted. That was before her 'cure' started to wear off though, when she still seemed normal, for a time. The few extra years bought by that shot. Those years hadn't been exactly kind, her parents still couldn't embrace their daughter without the image of what she was beneath the soft skin anymore. This year, she was out and about on her own, having started on her way walking from the manse.
