Who: Kitty, Bobby, Paige, Jubilee, Terry, whoever else decides to show up.
What: Bowling and hijinks!
When: Jan. 7, 8pm
Where: Bob's Bowling and Karaoke!

phasingirl: Psst. Terry. Where are you?

mippachan: Wh--Kitty? I'm in the commons. What's up?

phasingirl: Nothing. I'm upstairs and needed to vent but you weren't here.

mippachan: What's wrong? Do I need to come upstairs?

phasingirl: No, I'm just having a weird moment. So bowling tonight? I told Bobby he should invite Rogue but, honestly, I don't really want him to.

mippachan: You think he'd invite her? you think she'd come?

phasingirl: I don't know. I...don't know. Like, I want to invite her because I never had anything against her, but she really hurt him by leaving. So I hold a grudge on his behalf. Clearly, I am crazy. I don't know if she'd actually come if invited.

mippachan: So you hold a grudge because she went away, and now that she's back, you want her to go away again?

phasingirl: No, not that extreme. I'm just mad at her for Bobby. Since he doesn't seem to be mad at her at all. Maybe BECAUSE he isn't mad at her. Oh my gosh. Seriously. What is the matter with me right now? This should not be such a big issue.

mippachan: Maybe you're bored? Boredom often induces self-inflicted drama.

phasingirl: You're probably right. *stabs boredom* On another note, I'm kind of excited that Jubilee is coming. We've never been BFFs or anything, but she knows how to make anything fun.

mippachan: I don't think I've ever known Jubilee that well. I really need to get more social

phasingirl: Yes you do. Which is why I am thrilled you're coming tonight.

mippachan: heh...I'm terrible at bowling.

phasingirl: Well...you'll provide entertainment for the rest of us? OH! There's karaoke there, too!

mippachan: Oh dear....

phasingirl: It'll be fun. I think I'm going to change real quick and then I'll text the other two and tell them to meet us downstairs.

mippachan: Oh, is there a dress code?

phasingirl: No, I just don't want to go in my "teacher clothes". I'm such a girl.

mippachan: That you are. :) ...oh! So is Bobby going to be the only boy? :P

phasingirl: Yes, yes he is. He likes to look like a pimp, though. Bobby and his Brothel.

mippachan: ..... I don't know how I like that. No offense, but he's not exactly my type. ;)

phasingirl: *giggles* I amuse myself way too much. Okay, I am going to get changed now. See you in a few mins.

Kitty let out a breath and closed her laptop. She was just bored. Terry was right. She was just bored. Nothing more. Happy with that understanding, she set her computer aside and decided to get ready for the evening. She hadn't gone bowling in a long time, and it had been a long while since a group of them had gotten together to just hang out. She was even looking forward to seeing Jubilee.

It was with great care that Kitty picked out what to wear. nice jeans and a blue button-down cotton shirt with a white tank underneath. She combed out her hair and retouched her makeup, glad that dance hadn't started up yet. With that and teaching she'd be super busy, and time like this would be scarce. Julie, the studio owner, still hadn't gotten back to her about her promotion yet and that was a slight worry in her mind. She frowned at her reflection, wondering if she should give Julie a quick call before going out. But then what if Julie said her teaching adult classes was a no-go? That would just bring her entire evening down. Decisively, she slapped on lip gloss, pulled on her shoes, grabbed her coat and jacket, and headed out to get Terry and wait for the other two before heading out to meet Jubilee at the bowling alley.

What, exactly, did a person wear to a night out of bowling? Normally, Paige wouldn't care. These people had seen her at her worst, best and everywhere in between she figured, but she was going out. And wasn't that what Professor Munroe had told her to do? Go out, have fun, get closer to her friends? So as she cocked her head head and stared into her closet, she finally just decided to go with what she normally did. She pulled out a pair of jeans, a flannel overshirt, a simple white shirt to go under it and a pair of tennis shoes. They were going to be changing shoes anyway, so she didn't see the big deal there... and besides, tennis shoes were easier to move around in should anything happen.

It didn't take her very long to get dressed and pull her hair up into a ponytail. After slipping one of her favorite necklaces on, she popped her neck and gave herself a once over before grabbing her bag. She didn't know when they were wanting to leave, but at least it was better to be done early than it was to be done late. And Paige was finished with a spray of perfume.

The clump of her tennis shoes was easiy heard as she headed downstairs to join Kitty and Terry, actually a little excited to get out of the mansion for something other than a mission or school. This was probably what Professor Munroe was talking about when she said take time for herself, so okay, the woman was intelligent. Paige never argued that point. But there were just some things that a person had to be told before they really got it. For Paige, this was probably one of them.

Bobby took special preparations for his night out with the ladies. He applied a fresh coat of deodorant before pulling on a clean blue t-shirt. Jeans and socks with his sneakers completed his ensemble. Bowling would be fun. He was pretty certain there was no way for him to win, but that hadn't stopped him from making with the smack talk with Kitty.

It had been a while since he had a night out with friends. The holidays made things tough like that. He hadn't explicitly asked Rogue along, so he assumed she wouldn't be there. He felt responsible for any bad blood that might exist between Kitty and Rogue. He suspected maybe there was some, but it wasn't something he was going to bring up, ever if he could avoid it. He felt better just knowing the girl was safe.

He couldn't have been too much behind Paige getting downstairs. "Hey Paige, guess it's a party now, right?" He smiled at the girl. She was a good kid. He was glad to see her getting out for some fun.

Kitty was pulling on her coat, waiting for Terry to join her in the foyer when she saw Paige and Bobby coming down the stairs. "Well aren't we a good looking bunch?" She pulled her hair out from under her scarf before giving Paige a big hug. "Hey Sunshine. How was your time at home?" She couldn't really pinpoint when she and Paige had formed a close relationship, only that Paige was like a little sister to her.

"Terry! We're ready when you are!"

Letting Paige go, she grabbed they keys from her pocket and tossed them to Bobby. "Would you do the honors?" If it had been anyone else with them as their only male in a group of females, the dynamics would have been completely different. Bobby was just so laid back and easy for everyone to get along with. With Bobby behind the wheel, they could go when he was ready and know whether or not they were waiting for...anyone else.

"Jubes is meeting us there, and Terry is super excited that they have Karaoke. Aren't you?" Her voice rose toward the end.

Theresa pulled her down coat over her outfit and buttoned it up as she hurried down the stairs. "Coming! I'm coming!" She hoisted her purse on her shoulder and met the other three down at the bottom with a smile. "Sorry to make you wait. Is this everyone?" She looked around, half-expecting Rogue to me with them.

She looked to Bobby, nodded respectfully, and waved at Paige. "Hey guys. Ready to bowl?" Not that she necessarily was, but she had resolved herself to socialize more, be it bowling or...well, something more sensible.

Bobby caught the keys easily, and with a smile replied to Kitty. "Yes Miss Daisy". He gave Terry a wink and set out to get the car.

"Guess it is," Paige replied, turning to smile at her friend and former crush. "You look good, Bobby. Hoping to get lucky tonight with one of the ladies knocking down the pins?" It was all in good fun, teasing Bobby like she did. He could take it out as well as dish it and that was part of what made him so approachable she supposed. It had what made her like him in the first place, but that was in the past and that was where it would stay. She'd grown out of a schoolgirl's crush and into a young woman's friendship. It made things around the mansion a lot easier anyway. And Paige liked it when things were easier around her. Especially when her brain was always such a mess to begin with. Damn thought process always taking control.

When she heard Kitty's voice, the blond smirked and shook her head in amusement. "I don't know about all of us, but you two look nice," she shot back, taking the last two steps before being pulled into a hug by the intangible Shadowcat. The older woman (though not by much) had become the older sister Paige never had. It was definitely a good feeling. One she hadn't expected to find at the mansion at all. It was nice that she could still be surprised by something so simple.

Grinning at the redhead that made up their outfit, Paige marvelled again on how she had become part of the stereotypical female trio. Kitty was the brunette, Theresa was the redhead, and then Paige had come along and provided the blond. And the three of them were intelligent, computer savvy women. It couldn't get any better than that, she thought. And well, with friends like Jubilee and Bobby rounding them out, it definitely wasn't like home. It was better. And she didn't feel like she had to hide herself... though, in reality, she hadn't felt like she should have to hide herself in the first place at home either. She'd done it to protect her family.

"I'm ready when you guys are ready," Paige replied as she watched Bobby catch the keys. "Technically, Terry and I would be Miss Daisy. We're sitting in the back. Kitty has shotgun next to you." Why? Because Paige noticed things and she was going to enlist Terry in some misbehaving of sorts.

"Miss Daisy." Kitty frowned and looked at the girls. "That's the second quip about my age today. I may develop a complex." She raised an eyebrow at Paige, looking up at the girl with suspicion. "I didn't even have to call it like a twelve-year-old. That's very...nice of you, Paige." She turned to head out the front door, but pointed two fingers at her eyes, then pointed them at Paige. They hadn't even left the mansion yet and she knew it was going to be an interesting night.

Out in the cold, Kitty practically ran to the car, jumping into the passenger side and buckling before anyone else had even gotten in. She let out a very audible, "Brr!", and snuggled deeper into her coat.

"So listen," she said in a muffled tone when the others were finally in the car. "I think we should make a friendly wager on the outcome of this game tonight. Anyone up for that?" Even though most of her face was hidden behind her coat and scarf, it was pretty clear she was grinning, and there was mischief in her eyes.

"I stand corrected Miss Paigey, and Terry, I'm not just ready to bowl, I'm ready to dominate." Bobby was competitive, but not nearly so much as he was pretending to be. He was doing it just to be fun and make it seem like it was some great contest. As driven as Paige could be to excel, he didn't assume that anyone could beat her at anything if she really put her mind to it. Mostly he was just playing with Kitty.

"Oh don't worry about your age, Kitty... I mean.. I hope I get around as well as you do when I'm your age." He was older than her, and she was still young, so he thought the absurdness of poking at her age was a safe enough thing to play with. He buckled and started the car. He set the heat to what he figured would be comfy for everyone else, and started off when everyone else was in and ready.

"I've got a Hamilton in my pocket that thinks I'm going to have the high game" The 10 dollar bill apparently hadn't seen him bowl before...

Crawling into the back seat of the car, Theresa blinked in bewilderment at the energy levels of her friends. Perhaps it was the brisk winter air making them frisky, but there was little effect such temperatures had on her - unless it was to burrow under a blanket and go to sleep. "Were we wagering money on this?" Her tone was somewhat cautious. She barely bowled, and what she could remember of the past time was foggy at best. "I'm afraid I find myself at a disadvantage, here..."

Theresa pulled her auburn tresses over her shoulder, covering her ears with her hair in order to keep them warm. "Turn up the heat back here, please?" Her hazel eyes darted between the two faculty members in the front. "Perhaps we should do some sort of 'ranking' prize, just to be fair?" She felt it unnecessary to mention that her father frowned upon gambling, not to mention she carried around a credit card, and no cash.

Sitting beside Terry, Paige popped her neck and smiled at her redheaded best friend. "If we're actually wagering money, Red, I'll spot you ten. I've got enough tonight." Surprisingly, she did have enough tonight. She'd been being paid to tutor a couple of kids at the college and it was definitely helping her out on her days out. "Either awy, its all in good fun." Paige wasn't the best bowler out of the bunch either, but she knew tonight was about having a little fun. And well, she did follow orders to the best of her ability... sometimes.

"We could have it that the winner buys dinner for the losers," she chuckled, glancing at Bobby and Kitty. "Or that the person who loses has to buy the next person up dinner. Either way it works,"" she laughed.

It really wasn't right when Jubilee was the first one to show up to something. Really, really. They'd told her to meet them here at the bowling alley, and here she was. Standing around like some kind of idiot (albeit, in bowling shoes, which were pretty cool), staring at her non-existent watch. Okay, maybe she kind of looked stupid because she kept looking at her bare wrist.

But still.

"How long am I gonna have to wait?" She asked a teenaged boy who was walking by with a bowling ball.

Wisely, he did not answer her.

Instead of retorting with words, Kitty waited until Bobby was behind the wheel and waiting for the others to get situated before starting the car. Seizing this moment, she jabbed a finger into his ribs where she knew he was ticklish, then sat back and smiled innocently. "I was thinking more along the lines of what Paige said," she admitted when they were finally on the road. "Only that the loser buys. If it's the winner, who would want to win? Does that seem fair to everyone?"

As they drove, Kitty started to tune out the conversation going on in the car and turned her eyes out the window. Part of wanting to go bowling tonight was about getting together with her friends, but also because she needed to get her mind off of a few different things. It wasn't really boredom at all. Just things that kept popping up in her thoughts that she hadn't felt led to share with anyone yet.

Pulling up outside the bowling alley, Kitty peeked inside through the tall glass doors and windows. "Look, there's Jubilee!" She frowned slightly, tilting her head. "Why is she looking at her wrist?"

Bobby had really just played up the idea of a wager as something between him and Kitty. He wasn't really trying to make anyone else have to pay anything more than they expected to He jumped and squirmed when Kitty poked him

He pulled into a parking space. He looked down at his wrist when Kitty mentioned Jubilee He was pretty sure she was doing the same thing he typically did. "She's checking her wrist to see if we're late probably. I do that a lot when I'm waiting. I almost never wear a watch, but I look directly at my left wrist when I think about time."

He thought a moment as they were getting out of the car. "Hey, how about we just play for bragging rights this time." He wasn't sure if everyone was prepared to be able to pay, and that wouldn't really be fair.
