The Owners Box

Alex had been at the stadium since the pre-dawn hours, getting the boxes prepared for the Uplift contingency. Tasteful Uplift pink decorations fill both the Owners and the Team Box, and the food in each have been carefully selected based on all of the guests who were invited, regardless of if they RSVPd. There are gift baskets for each of the VIPs, custom made to their tastes, and include tumbler-style travel cups in black and white with a hot pink magpie design on it.

He's easily blown through his budget for today's match, but gladly put in a fair amount of his own money (not that Dani or management needs to know that) just to put on a good show for his first time out.

He managed to get away for an hour to freshen up, and arrives an hour early to make sure the rest of the details are in place. At this point, he's almost entirely fueled on caffeine and nervous energy, but he's all gracious smiles by the time the first guests (and owners) arrive, after which he excuses himself to go attend to his pre-game press duties.

The Uplift Board of Directors (minus Jason) arrive as a complete group, dressed smartly. Each member has various levels of neon pink. They are here to network and meet people.

Emerson Harper (legal counsel) and Nobby Leach (first and only muggleborn minister of magic from the 1960s), stick together. Leach if left to himself can cause a bit of trouble. Harper isn't so much his handler, as his companion for the match. Leach is mostly here to talk about the big political and social movements of the 60s, and is both sad that it took so long to happen again, but delighted to be apart of it. (If anyone presses he might have a few unkind words for the Malfoy family, but Harper will keep him in line best as he could.)

Caroline Knightly is here to make introductions for the board, and then speak to any press. Or help her colleagues speak to the press. Personally, her goal is to meet Alex Winters and make sure their narrative about Jason King is the same or at least no competing.

Mary Cattermole has quite a bit to say about the Falmouth incident and feels like she has an inside line thanks to her sister-in-law. She will be asking a lot of very careful questions about the team atmosphere and inter-team relationships.

Jeremy Goodwin is mostly here to listen. He is their policy guy, and probably knows a good deal of the Ministry people in the box because he used to work for the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures before the war.

Hermione Granger is also there, but only stays for an hour or two before excusing herself to attend to other matters.

Nobby is delighted to tell Justin all sorts of stories. Many of them slightly inappropriate and he will get redirected by Emerson, to which Nobby will claim won't let them having any fun. The pair have a professional but familiar relationship, it is obvious that they have worked together for a long while

Fraser greets his guests and introduces them to everyone in the box.

He thanks them for coming and explains how it generally goes. Immediately before introduction of the teams, the stadium announcers will officially welcome the Wigtown and Montrose special guests. They'll read a short blurb about the organization and introduce you by name, and there may or may not be applause. It depends on the day and the game if people are paying attention. Some people will still be in the beer line, but that's how it goes.

After the game, and he hopes at least one member of the board can stay for it, there is always a press conference. This is where we'll announce that we're working with you on a new mental health initiative. Depending on the level of excitement of the game, there may be questions for you, or they may spend the entire time asking Jason about how he scored a particular goal. That's Quidditch. Sometimes the reporters stay afterwards if they want to do more in-depth stories.

And in between, please be our guests, mingle, enjoy the quidditch, including Jason's play, and let us know if you need anything. Thank you all for joining us!

Appropriate introductions and small chat is made. Caroline will be stating to the end and is happy to answer any questions, as well as direct them to other members. They are all professionals. She has thoroughly briefed them on things, so she's not worried.

Otherwise plenty of mingling to be had. Jeremy Goodwin probably a few less exciting policy questions for Fraser and the quidditch league.

Mel is here to talk to most of the older types, though he suspects he's better off not conversing long with Hermione Granger because she's exactly the sort he expects to have severe reservations about him.

If Leach says something about Malfoy, Mel, who remembers Malfoy as an obnoxious jerk from when he was a Promising Young Man and Mel was a kid at school, will undoubtedly have an incident to remember about Lucius that will make Leach giggle. There were a bunch. Harper can tell Mel's not bothered.

Mel encourages Mary Cattermole to talk to Fraser--she'll have seen the paper this morning--and this is her chance to get her story to Fraser so he's not only talking to Falmouth's ownership.

Of course he's acquainted with Goodwin, so they can exchange pleasantries.

	Oh Leach has stories about Abraxas Malfoy. He has been informed to not share them. (Really Emerson?) But he is always keen to other people tell stories and take shots. Mary will certainly speak to Fraser about the commission. She has her own opinions of what happened, but wasn't there first hand. She is most very interested to see what happens next. Alex looks up from where he's giving the groaning food table a seventeenth once over- aesthetically pleasing, but approachable, with lots of local flavors and the elements that make it Montrose (standard Scottish and English fare, with French, Brazilian and even Bulgarian offerings)- when he hears the now-familiar voice of Jupiter Macmillan. He offers her a smile of greeting before turning his attention to the man standing with her- who was staring at him in an oddly familiar way, though he can't quite put his finger on why the expression rings a bell. "Hey, Jupiter. Turned out pretty well, yeah?" He puts her hand out to his companion. "Hi, I'm Alex Winters, Montrose's new PR person."
