The setting: The community center's gym and dinning room, both decorated with various Halloween decorations, tinsel and paper cutouts of skeletons, black cats, bats, and various other Halloween characters. The words Happy Halloween in glittery black and orange font. The dinning area with tables and chairs with a buffet-style meal with a serving staff. The gym with games for the children, including a 'haunted house', prizes such as candy and toys. In one part was a DJ playing fun Halloween style songs such 'The Monster Mash' and 'Love Potion Number 9'. A sign by the door noted that the costume contest for the children starts at 6:30 and to sign up by 6:15, the adult costume would be at 10:30 and sign up was by 10:15.

Gwen Cooper was offically miserable and she decided it was not worth hiding anymore. So as she sat in one of the coffee shops she was writing things into a private journal (so private not even Jack knew she had it). As she wrote between sips of coffee she would sometimes slam the redial button on her phone, not giving up on her quest to reach her husband. She had been nursing some hunches about this place but they had been mixing along with her ongoing nightmares and the major lack of real sleep. So anyone could see the pale woman slamming back cup after ciup of coffee as she wrote, most would figure grad student by her looks.
