I was just wondering - I mean, I know a lot of people are sick right now and everything, but no one's letting me help, and I'm kinda going crazy just waiting in the shelter to find out what's going on. And I was told that I should have someone with me if I go out, so... I was just wondering if, like, you wanted to go to the arcade, or something? Just to do something normal for awhile? Since you like video games too and all.

I mean, if you're not taking care of someone who's sick. Or sick yourself. Omigod, you're not sick, are you? I'm really sorry if you are, just forget I said anything.

[Risa is like a wildcat in a cage. She paces in and out of the room she shares with Takami, up and down the hallways, around the kitchen, through the common room - it's driving her utterly crazy being here. Axel told her to get inside, and she's going to follow through with that promise, but gosh! Everyone is sick! It's terrible, not being able to do anything. She's even taken off her communicator so that she won't be tempted to run outside.

Is anyone else trapped in the shelter, unable to do anything? Is anyone else feeling helpless and lost as the entire prison seems to fall apart? She feels so lonely.]

Xion. ...C'mon, kid, get up. [It's a broadcasted hint to those people who actually care about her that she's not as she should be, but it's subtle enough so that any suspicious individual listening in won't get the wrong impression that she's now vulnerable. Regardless, he will be protecting her, so don't even think about it. Axel shakes her shoulders a bit, trying to get a response, and though he knows that she's still breathing he's growing more and more concerned that that might not be the case if he doesn't act.]

[Todays announcements came a bit too late for Kyouya's liking. As he did most days, he went to the library and somewhere along the lines, he started feeling a bit more tired than usual. Which is saying a lot when it comes to him.

By the time the announcements came on, he was passed out at a table, his laptop left on and open, books spread out on the table in front of him, and a very sick looking Kyouya in the middle of it all.]

Good morning inmates. It is the 60th day of the third generation.

The requests for the following inmates are available: Princess Euphemia, Tieria Erde, Len Kagamine, Kyouya Ootori and Lavi. They are at the entrance to Sector 0.

This system notes that of last night some inmates have displayed impaired functions and unusual lifesigns. Those who are having difficulties should be admitted to the hospital as soon as possible, where the remote units present there will assist them. They have special equipment to enable them to care for comatose individuals. Inmates who are capable of offering aid are encouraged to do so as well.

[when he opens the channel, he's silent for a long beat. then, he says, perfectly calm]

Euphie-- Nunnally is gone.

[he doesn't make it private because maybe others would like to know, those people she'd befriended or who'd known her. their friends. he wouldn't tell any of them if he didn't have to. wouldn't even say it aloud if he didn't have to. ...but Euphie deserves to know, so she doesn't have to find out by asking for her sister someday and not finding her.

[When Risa arrives at Takami's door that evening, she's a little more put-together - her hair is clean and loose around her face, and she's wearing a cute floral top with her jeans instead of her big, baggy hoodie. She's even put on a touch of makeup, although she's not sure why - she just wants to make a good impression on him after all the times she's made a fool of herself.

This is crazy. Is she really moving in with Takami-senpai? She can bardly believe it, but she's here.]

Takami-senpai? [She knocks, adjusting the small but extremely full and rather heavy duffel bag slung over her shoulder.] It's Risa.

I am letting everyone know, if anything happens, or just if anybody wants to talk.

[When Risa has to leave Takami-senpai's room, something occurs to her - that night, she'll be returning to an empty room. He's still across the hall, but will that be enough if someone comes after her? Will he hear and react in time?

Besides, she has to stop depending on him. So, putting on her best bright, cheerful voice, she speaks over the communicator.]

Um. Hi! For those who don't know me, I'm Risa Koizumi. I just got here a coupla days ago. And I was wondering... is anyone, like, looking for a roommate? In one of the apartments or something? I don't really know anyone too well, but I'm not that tough to live with, I promise! I'll be really clean and polite and won't cause any trouble. I just... I think a fish taco shack in sector 4, near the beach, would be awesome...but before Acumen thinks it's worth the bots' time to go building one, he's gotta see there's enough interest, right?

So that's where you come in! Do you guys have any kind of favorite beach snacks? Would you take it from a closer, hipper snack shack than lugging picnic baskets all the way from the dormitory kitchens? Should the bots who work there all have Hawaiian-print casing and pass out leis and fruity drinks with little paper umbrellas in, and crank out Jimmy Buffet tunes on request?

[Risa can't think of what else to do. A few minutes ago, the last thing she wanted to do was see Takami-senpai, but now... she's so, so scared, and she can't think of where else to go. Hopefully when he hears the news, he'll forget about what she said last night. Hopefully...

Standing outside his door in jeans and a hoodie, her hair thrown into a sloppy ponytail, she knocks on Takami's door frantically.] T-Takami-senpai? Are you there? [She sounds every bit as terrified as she feels.]

There was an unfortunate incident near the shelter that resulted in the death of fellow inmate Tatewaki Kunou last night. The Defense Force has been mobilized to handle the situation, so there is no need to worry. It is advisable that inmates not roam the premises during the night hours, and that any with information pertaining to this situation contact a member of the force.

Inmate Haruhi Suzumiya, your request has arrived. You will find the disc copy at the entrance to Sector 1, the other items in the storage beside the theater.

[Set up at the beach there's a contained bonfire, and tables full of food. Around the area there are several grills set up for if people decide they want to make things to their particular liking. There are even a few watermelon! It can't be considered a beach party without a watermelon to break among friends. Games have been set up. There are volleyball nets so that people can participate in a friendly game, and a couple of beach balls. Prizes are set off to the side for those who would like to compete in sand castle designs or the games themselves, and there are goggles and underwater equipment for water polo and other festivities.

Come, eat a piece of cake, grill yourself a steak, swim, sing, dance, limbo, mingle, troll, build sandcastles and have fun!]

[Risa has discovered the arcade! Glory!

She doesn't recognise any of the games, but she gets the idea of most of them - she walks straight past the dancing and instrument games, which are just hopeless with her coordination, and chooses a fighting game near the back, Deadly Battle IV. Before long, the arcade is filled with whoops of excitement and groans of aggravation as she battles her way through the monster, the ninja and the kung-fu master.

The battle with the token girl proves to be the hardest - she's really throwing herself into it, her feet twitching when she kicks and her voice raising and raising in pitch.]

C'mon... c'mon, you can do better than - omigod, how did that hit not kill you? I'm gonna beat you into the ground, you...

[Although she's had a few attacks of tears since she arrived, it doesn't all hit Risa until evening, when she finds herself in an unfamiliar bed in her unfamiliar, empty room with no sounds of her family around her, and realizes that she won't be going to school tomorrow. She won't be hanging out with Nobu and Chiharu and their boyfriends, and that dumb shrimp Otani -

- for some reason, that's what pushes her over the edge. The idea that she'll never be called Jumbo-girl again, she'll never punch him across the room for being a meathead again, she'll never be called All-Kyojin again. The thought opens up a great, gaping ache in her chest that makes it hard to swallow, to even breathe.

She stumbles out of her room, unable to bear the sight of those empty walls anymore, and crumples against the door next to hers. She knows that people around her are sleeping, but she can't seem to silence the loud, hiccuping sobs that make her entire body shake. She's never going home. Never mind where she is, if it's some weird kind of prison-resort - she's not going back.

She's not ready to leave home! She's only 15!

She takes a deep breath, trying to calm herself, but it just comes out in a long wail. Why? Why her?]
