I am so sorry, everyone, for dropping off the face of the earth the last week or two. I've been having major problems with what I thought were sinus pains keeping me awake at night and turning me into a zombie during the day – turned out it wasn't sinus at all, but tension in my jaw/grinding my teeth in my sleep, caused by stress and trying to do too damn much!

I'm still having bad nights but have got sleeping tablets to help and am gradually learning what works to help me relax and get a good night's sleep instead of one where I'm up for three hours in intense pain.

It got to the point yesterday (after said night) where I was seriously considering pulling Jack from the game early, having him get lost in one of the sectors as it closed down, but I feel good today and so I'm going to give it one last try, for the final week and a half of the game.

I'm going to ditch all my old threads, as it's been stressing me out trying to get my mind back to them and all the Tyki stuff feels redundant now anyway. So I'm going to try and tag into the current threads and I'm open for requests for anything else anyone would like to do with Jack in the time remaining!

Hi everyone. For the short time I was in the game I've had a great time. But as the game is coming to an end, I'm going to take myself out. I'm always around if anyone wants a psl or to join another game. It's been fun!

Hello, Marinanites.

After careful consideration, we the mods have come to the decision that it's time to shut down the game. It's been running for well over eight years, passed through five sets of hands and seen a lot of changes. We feel that it's time to let it go out with a bang rather than fizzle. We'd like to thank you for this time and all the wonderful memories we've made in this little corner of the internet.

But before all that, we have a big four-week long endgame event that I hope will bring some closure to the whole ordeal. If you've played a character here before that you've since dropped, you're of course welcome to bring them in for one final bash! Either way, the game will shut down for good on September 4.

Sorry I've been slow the last week or so - life has been manic lately. I'm afraid it's about to get even slower as we are going away for a week on Saturday (driving to Brittany) and will be out all day tomorrow as well (Lego Brick Live 2017 in London) so there's likely to be no more tagging now until Sunday 6 August at the earliest.

When I get back, I'll try to rev things up a bit with a new post or join in whatever event is on or something!

It's taken awhile for me to decide, but I have finally chosen to drop Remy from the game. I am sad to, as I have enjoyed the threads I had had in this game, the interactions with players, but sadly something just hasn't clicked in this game for me, and I feel bad holding a character that I am not going to be active on, so for now I am going to bid it au revoir.

Thank you for all those I had amazing threads with for making my time here enjoyable.

I'm going to pull Prompto from the game. Life is picking up - might be looking at new, more stable employment - and he was the easiest sacrifice to make. Sorry my dude.

There's something strange in the neighborhood for all of Day 437 — perhaps not Ghostbusters level of eerie but certainly worrying if you've been in prison for any length of time. The effects of these eerie glitches include:

• Small portions of the prison - trees, smaller structures, objects - disappearing and then reappearing.
• Ghost imprints of past inmates, or even past interactions. They're translucent and flickering, maybe replaying like a bad hologram.
• Music from previous day posts playing out of nowhere, and then disappearing.
• An assortment of smells, sensations and eerie feelings that are difficult to place and even more difficult to ignore.

None of the effects will be harmful to the residents, and can't be interacted with in any way. Things will go back to normal on the morning of day 438.

So I'm doing Artfight at artfight.net. Ergo it's taking up alot of my time. So expect tags to be slow.

It's no secret that I've slowed way down on RP. I've been struggling with pretty much everyone, but Sarah's taking a lot of energy and dragging me down everywhere. So I think it's time to let her go. Thank you for the opportunity to get to know her. She was quite a bit of fun.

Hopefully this drop helps get me back in the swing of things, but if not, I may have to axe one of my other characters as well.

On Day 434 (June 26 to July 2) the caretakers will be doing what they usually do and tinker with your code — specifically the code that determines what kind of powers you have. Those of you who are just normal everyday people may find yourselves with a few extra tricks up your sleeve, while the super powered folks may find themselves... well, not all that super. (Or maybe extra super for the day.)

Hold up, how does this work?
For the sake of cementing some stability in the dome, all code gets run through a sieve now and then. Sometimes errors pop up, meaning one code + another code = new code! Therefore characters have the potential for picking up new powers for the duration of the day until that's all patched back to normal. On the flip side, currently "super powered" individuals may lose a power or ability for the day as well, or find themselves with a power they previously didn't have.

Can powers stack?
Yes! If your character already has a power, they can keep that while also getting something new for the day. You're also welcome to double down on several powers, or swap them out throughout the day if you can't decide on just the one!

What kind of powers can I have?
That's for you to decide! There is a generator here if you want to get some inspiration, but just keep in mind that your abilities must not violate other character consent (without checking first, aka mind reading/ control or any other invasive powers) and it cannot and will not allow characters to escape or alter the dome simulation itself.

What counts as a power?
That's up to you! It can be something as fantastical as flying or shooting lasers with your eyes, or if you'd rather strip off the super-strength and make them into an Average Joe that's cool too. We're allowing some flexibility for this event, so no need to stick to the strict comic-book definition of super powers. If you're not sure about anything, feel free to ask in the questions comment below for clarification on what's good and what might not fly so well.
