The Q2 Activity Check is over and the following characters were removed from the game:

Posting access for the aforementioned journals has been revoked and character listing removed. To rejoin the game they must once again be claimed on the taken list.

On day 432 Mary and Jaden have set up a display of sorts in Sector 0 of inmate photos. These photos will be put up on peg board displays for inmates to peruse, collect and take home if they wish.

Photos during this event can be from the past, present or potential futures and can be actual photographs they remember or moments captured on film where no camera was actually present.

This post is for plotting and sharing photos your characters may find on display! There will be a mingle put up on day 432 as well.

Hey guys, it's time for the quarterly Activity Check In! This is the first time we're doing it this way, so please bear with us as we work out the system.

Activity check in MarinaNova happens every 3 months and are essentially an obligatory show of continued interest in the game. Fill out the simple form below before Midnight EST on June 7 and you're good to go for another three months! This check-in is player specific, so no need to check in with every one of your characters.

Not filling out the form in the allotted time is considered an assumed game drop and you will be removed from the game the following day!

So, I've had a bad week, tagging wise, due to bad health and busy RL stuff, and haven't got round to making a post for Jack for the naked and afraid event. And I can't really see the point in making one now as it'll be late and will only slow me down all my other threads even more, which I'm sure nobody wants!

So basically, please do feel free to have your characters mention having seen Jack sauntering around completely starkers and completely unselfconsious about it. I'm even happy to handwave a conversation for the sake of fun-times, though it would be useful if you could mention that here so at least I'm aware of it! :-)

Just wanted to toss up a quick note saying, I've brought in Faith from BTVS verse. She's from the comics from where she split from Angel to do her own thing.

Any plots for her or my others ladies would be love.

Inmates will wake up on Day 429 (May 22) with a lot less to worry about - or wear. It seems while Jaden and Mary were tending to the data of the dome, something went wrong somewhere and all items of clothing have disappeared for the day. This includes any clothing in your closets as well as the stores. Towels, bedding and other make shift items are still available in apartments and stores to quickly cover up with.

Clothing will return to the dome via overnight file repair for 430.

Opt out? It's plausible that not all the inmates files will have been affected by this unexpected purge, so characters who opt-out retain their clothing and perhaps will feel generous enough to share with the others. Partial opt-outs of limited or single-item clothing options remaining are A-OK too. (ie. Nothing but glittery panties or pasties, etc.)

Hi all,

So we started potty training our kid. Yay! But to anyone here who has a kid, you may understand that it is taking over my entire life. And two days after we started, not only did she start working on her two-year-molars, she also got hit with a stomach bug from hell. So potty training has been tabled while we deal with fever and doctors and... yeah.

Anyway. She's turned a corner with illness, so as she gets better with that, we're going back to potty training, which means I'm probably not going to be around as much as I would like to be.

Except I'm still going to tag around in the group therapy events because they need it. And I should be consitently able to get on Tuesday - Thursday evenings!

I'm heading to Canada for the weekend (mini-vacation) and not planning on bringing anything more electronic than my phone. I can still be reached by email, plurk, or discord.

I'm leaving Thursday night (11th) and coming back sometime Monday (15th).

Yooo, so this is Oli here and just putting a small hiatus note. I'm leaving Sunday for a two week job hopping provinces so from the 14th of May to the 26th my presence online may be spotty or nonexistent. I'm hoping to be around or at least put out a few tags, but just giving a heads up that tags from me & mine may be spotty! You can message me/ hmd/ plurk me if you do need something or want to make sure I tag something back, too!

On Day 427 there will be a much needed group therapy day, graciously hosted by the caretakers in an effort to help you through these changing and trying times. While it's no longer mandatory, it is encouraged to attend for your own well-being and both Mary and Jaden will personally be there to live by example. There will also be snacks and drinks to keep things light.

The groups will be created through ooc suggestions, and will icly be arranged by the caretakers or by the characters themselves if they are inclined to lead a group. The activities range from drawing your feelings to trust falls or simply talking out your problems - or maybe something more creative! Have fun with this one, marinanites! Your character is of course welcome to attend as many group therapy sessions as they may need!

Truth serum? Those of you who remember the last group therapy may also remember that the characters were influenced by a truth serum that allowed them to speak more freely than they normally would. Officially this is no longer the case, Marina being a free dome of sorts, but the caretakers are still straightening out code and strengthening firewalls. Perhaps there's a string or two accidentally left in there, in case your character needs a bit of a push?

Opt out? Group therapy is not mandatory. If your character doesn't want to attend, they are welcome to stay at home, bottling up their emotions.

Hey guys! As you may have noticed, we've been fiddling away at the game for the past two weeks and it looks like we're mostly done by now! In the spirit of transparency, here's a run-down of what's been done. Some of these are really important so I'd suggest you read through the whole thing.

• NEW PAGE FOR APPLICATIONS/HIATUS/AC - already announced, but here's a reminder in case you missed it. It's very important that you fill out the form for your character/s there if you haven't already! The old taken page will be removed shortly, with the new one serving as intent to stay in the game. Not filling it out will count as an assumed drop and your character risk being removed from the game!

• NEW MOD CONTACT POST - including a new email; marinamodcontact@gmail.com

• GAME CALENDAR REMOVED - will be replaced by a monthly event post, the first one coming up on Monday!

• OOC RULES UPDATED - Please take a moment to review them!

• Adding new tags to the main comm is now open to every journal that is a member. Please do this as it makes it easier for you or other players to find old threads.

• FAQ UPDATED - Includes new information on arrival, as well as tweaks to the game.

• LOCALE UPDATED - Most importantly, there is no sentinel presence anymore. Maintenance bots are still around.

• NEW LAYOUTS - on marinanova and marinanova_ooc!

• NEW PLAYER RUN POST - Fill it out if your character runs a business, holds a class or organises an activity! This is not mandatory, but makes it easier for everyone.

We'll continue to tweak and polish as we find things that need tweaking and polishing, but for now the big, functional things should be done. Please let us know if you find a broken link, a typo or a sentence that doesn't make any sense! We appreciate your help immensely!

Oli just added a Wolverine back to her roster. (You may remember me from such characters as knowsaguy) Only this one is older, has a lot of problems and isn't as hardy as he used to be. He'll have some vague memories of Marina (that feel like lifetimes ago) but whether or not he mentions his past life/ recognizes it as something That Happened is yet to be determined.

Hi, I'm Haru and I'm completely new. Imp had been talking up this game for a while now and I had wanted to join and try Felicity out before. So here I am now. While not a new muse she's new for me to play in a game so I hope I'm going to be alright with doing her justice.

She comes from season 3 so she's pretty innocent yet.

I have this dork swirling around in my head. I think there might be a learning curve because I haven't tested him anywhere yet so this will be my first college try at Ray in a group RP. I feel like he'll probably focus on trying to find ways to get out of Marina, given sciencing ways out of trouble is basically his thing.

When he realizes how futile it is, he'll probably settle into a role much like he did in the first season when he was trapped in the 50s. Tinkering with things to keep himself intellectually busy but also trying to imbue his love of science in others. So he'll probably end up teaching a class.

This is the last Sunday Speakeasy ever. From now on we'll do event and plotting posts at the start of every month, and individual posts for other information. Players are highly encouraged to use the ooc comm for whatever you wish, from hiatus announcements to memes and plotting!

Hey guys, Rica here! As you probably know by now, Haunt has stepped away from the game but you have nothing to worry about because I'll keep this underwater adventure going for as long as I'm able!

However, given the size of the game and how busy my meatspace life is these days, some changes will be made. Some of them are things me and Haunt talked about awhile back, while others are more spur of the moment. Bear with me as I try to work out some details - I've already started working on some things and intend to get the rest done in this coming week. Here's what I got so far:

• MarinaNova will evolve into a pseudo-sandbox game. We will still run events and plot like before but some of the more administrative things will be scaled down or removed completely.

• Activity checks are no longer a monthly thing. There will be a check in post every three months starting in June, where you can voice your intent to stay in the game. No minimum activity requirements, I just need to know you're still around.

• Applications are no longer in effect. Instead, I'm converting the taken list into a player-character directory that relies on you filling in the info yourselves. It's a little experimental but I hope it's going to make for a more relaxed environment with more freedom to test out characters without the pressure of applications and activity checks. Please fill out the form for yourselves and your current characters! This will count as showing intent to stay in the game and make things easier on all of us in the coming week!

• On that note, a million thanks to the application assistant team! You guys have been so great and you've really made processing apps so much easier. Thank you so much for the time and effort you've put into this game!

• Tomorrow will be the very last Sunday Speakeasy! I will instead be doing monthly event/plot posts starting in May. You are very much encouraged to use marinanova_ooc to plot amongst yourselves or post memes.

• The marinanova_lol comm is officially retired. Please use marinanova_ooc for any meme needs you may have!

• The mod contact email has changed to marinamodcontact@gmail.com. I'm still working on changing all the links but if you find the wrong email anywhere in about a week, please let me know so I can change it!

• In regards to the IC plot, something fun is coming up really soon and I hope you trust me with the new direction the game is going in!

• I'd also like to welcome Oli onboard the mod team - she'll mainly be helping me with NPC's and plot planning going forward. With Haunt's departure, Veridical and Smith are no longer involved in the running of the prison so look forward to some fun new NPC's in the near future.

I have a long long list of things I want to work on over the next week or so, both with cleaning and tightening info posts as well as working on the changes to the game plot. Hey, everyone, I am dropping Kitty which means I'm exiting the game which means I'm also leaving as a mod. Do not worry though! The game is continuing. Rica is still here and she'll be making an announcement within the week about it.

It's been a long run. I started this game on Day 10 with Yuuri as a player and then took over as a co-mod a few years after that. I've enjoyed these last eight years with all of you and everyone else who has passed through our inverted snowglobe of a prison. I'm thankful for everything we got to do together and all the wonderful CR built up over that run over all the many characters I played including the occasional NPC.

I am still on plurk for everyone who wants to keep in touch.

Time to wave goodbye in the only way truly fitting.
