Hello, Marinanites.
After careful consideration, we the mods have come to the decision that it's time to shut down the game. It's been running for well over eight years, passed through five sets of hands and seen a lot of changes. We feel that it's time to let it go out with a bang rather than fizzle. We'd like to thank you for this time and all the wonderful memories we've made in this little corner of the internet.
But before all that, we have a big four-week long endgame event that I hope will bring some closure to the whole ordeal. If you've played a character here before that you've since dropped, you're of course welcome to bring them in for one final bash! Either way, the game will shut down for good on September 4.
TIMELINE
Day 439 - June 31-August 6 : Your last normal day.
Day 440 - August 7-13 : Sector 6 will close down.
Day 441 - August 14-20 : Sectors 1 and 5 will close down.
Day 442 - August 21-27 : Sectors 2, 3 and 4 will close down.
Day 443 - August 28-September 3 : The final day.
There'll be more detailed flavourful descriptions and explanations in each daypost as we get to it (and believe me, there's some plot) but for now, this is a basic rundown of how this will work.
• Sector 6 will close down without warning. Sectors 1-5 will be announced in the daypost, and residents will be asked in advance to evacuate.
• If a resident remains inside a sector as it's closing down, that character will be removed from the game. Feel free to take advantage of this if you want to drop out early.
• The game will be closed for new posts on Monday September 4. You will of course be able to keep commenting.
