[ Reid is absolutely 100% going to spend the day cooped up inside for several reasons, but somehow he always finds himself needing something when this day rolls around and maybe it's the sheer thought of not being able to get it, but it always becomes urgent and important even when it isn't. So, he's outside, reluctantly, trying to hurry up his steps so he can do the errands and escape back home. Not too different from most days, truth be told.

He makes an effort to avoid Ianto, despite coming face to face with him at the library. Their last conversation wasn't too great. ]

[He's not the only one making an effort to avoid things. Ianto has had enough fights and confrontations in his life the last few days, he really doesn't need one more. But unfortunately a few bots have managed to sneak in through the library door over the course of the day and dodging both them and Reid proves to be an impossible task. He feels like they're herding him around the library until he inadvertently rounds a shelf and comes face to face with him. The awkwardness of their last conversation hasn't been forgotten by him, either and for a moment he isn't quite sure what to say. Better to stick to the superficial for now.]

Sorry to bother you. I've been dodging bots all morning.

Always figured he had more in common with Ianto than perhaps anyone else here but that didn't work out and now he's most definitely running out of friends. That's fine. Really. He's fine on his own. ]

One day I'll actually anticipate this and properly prepare.

[Ianto is just as uncomfortable and for similar reasons. He's never had many friends either, and he doesn't like losing them. He still stands by what he said in their last conversation but it's hard to stay angry at someone he knows was just trying to do the right thing. He's been there too many times himself to judge anyone for it. All that's left is awkwardness, really.]

It would help if the scheduling was predictable but it doesn't seem to be. They seem to space these things roughly the same amount of time apart every round but there doesn't seem to be a corresponding date number or pattern I can track.

That's exactly it. There's an interval, but I don't have enough data points to plot anything reliable enough to predict when the next attack will be.

[ Attack is a strong word but honestly he came out to get a book and he's feeling so attacked right now. As for their last conversation, Reid is trying to do something genuinely good and helpful and it's frustrating when that desire is met with hostility, apathy and blind loyalty. He has a handful of people who seem to get what he's doing, but other than that... nope. Might as well throw in the towel and fry his brain in the Animus. ]

Agreed. There seems to be a trend in the timing but I don't have enough data to quite piece it all together. [Brainstorming together like this is sort of a peace offering. They used to do this kind of thing a lot and focusing on solving this admittedly unimportant problem together is his own silent way of saying he's sorry.]

[ On Reid's side, he's seriously starting to give up on friendships here. He can count the people he trusts on one hand and maybe he's just been here too long with too little space. Things deteriorate quicker when there's nowhere to go and cool off. ]
