I think it probably amuses them. [Some of the things here genuinely do seem random and unintentional but he gets the sneaking suspicion their captors do this one because they think it's funny.] I sometimes wonder if we're like some sort of soap opera to them.

Yes. One of them, at least. Mary. We've spoken quite a few times. [There are notes but he will not ask if you saw them while ransacking headquarters because he's a classy guy.]

Yes. We've spoken several times now. She's answered a few questions I had. Nothing I really think we could use but overall I get the impression she's being truthful in what she does say. [He'd never think of her as a friend and he's still quite intimidated by her but he respects her and, oddly enough, trusts her.]

Not human. [Not getting a real look at her hasn't stopped him from forming an impression. Torchwood will do that to you.] Not a species I knew, but she reminded me of some of them. Sometimes we'll find something or someone so completely and utterly alien you can't really find a way to describe or understand them at first. Everything is too different, even basic impressions don't translate well. She's easier to talk to here since she appears human. Overall she strikes me as very professional. It's hard to get her opinion on something, but that leads me to take her facts at face value since that seems to be what she focuses on as important.

[It has been so long since he's had someone to information geek with. Do they have paper he can be drawing flowcharts of all this on?] Some. Why we're here is the same answer they've given us from the start really, nothing different from our crime lists. But she's mentioned other things. I think quite a few of the unusual events that happen here are computer glitches or even active sabotages from third party groups. After Jack disappeared I asked here if they'd deliberately taken him away and she essentially said that they don't do it delibertly, it's more system failures. Oh, and I get the impression that there are other prisons as well but I don't have any details on it.

We've been to other prisons, so I think that's a safe bet to make... and we've been in contact with other AI, so I suppose it's only logical that there would be other groups running them. I don't know how reassuring it is if the problems really are just that.

Well that's the interesting thing. She pointed out that it's a large, complicated system and God knows the Rift Manipulator acted up enough times back home for me to believe that. But she definitely implied there have been acts of sabotage, too, either from the other prisons or outside groups, in not entirely sure. Whoever they were they were certainly responsible for when all those doors opened up that let us out of the simulation.

So maybe... if there's sabotage from the outside, we could use that to our advantage? [ It's a long shot but so is frying your brain with virtual reality simulations. ]
