[Honestly? Euphie doesn't really know what good friends do and what they don't do. Growing up her only friends were siblings and she once fought a sister over who would marry their brother. Then the only man she connected with who wasn't a sibling she claimed to love within days of meeting.

The lines separating friends, siblings, and romantic interests are blurry and indistinct at best for her and there's been little done in her months at Marina to better distinguish them.

It's a big thing for her to form connections with someone and the path those connections take isn't something she has a lot of hard and fast rules about. She only knows what she's seen in movies and read in books and also experienced as the child of a man with 109 wives.

So, when a robot asks her to kiss a man she cares about very much—a man she's kissed before, it's only his hesitancy that makes her unsure of the situation.]

Sometimes thinking has a way of interfering with doing. [Whether it's because of the impulsive pearl in her pocket or her own impulsive nature, she steps in closer, rising up on her toes and neatly sealing her lips to his.]

[ That might be the problem here. That she doesn't know and he thought he did and then got his signals horribly crossed. He's still trying to figure all that out, the line between platonic love and romantic, what kind of attraction he should take seriously and what kind he should just leave well alone. It gets so messed up so quickly and when he thinks that he's got it together, something like this happens.

Her impulsive move brings him to pause for a brief moment, but not so long that it gets embarrassing. Half a step behind, is all and then he pushes back into it. Slow and loving, but decisively platonic. Let's not make this more confusing than it already is. ]
